"Joss Whedon shows ... they're awesome ... and then Fox cancels them"
Alan Tudyk Talks About The End Of ‘Dollhouse’

Alan Tudyk, one of the stars of the soon-to-be defunct series Dollhouse, is at the Sundance Film Festival doing promo for his new film Tucker & Dale vs. Evil and he was stopped by the LA Times for a brief interview wherein he discusses his thoughts on the early cancellation of Dollhouse. Here are a few screencaps from his video interview:

While at Sundance, covered ably on our sister blog 24 Frames, I ran across a movie called “Tucker & Dale vs. Evil,” co-starring none other than Wash himself, Alpha himself, actor Alan Tudyk. He was gracious enough to stay, after a midnight showing, and talk to me about the movie — then awesome enough to give me his quick impression on what happened to “Dollhouse” and where he thought the show could’ve gone. I know, why do we keep punishing ourselves with this ‘coulda’ stuff? Because we care.

I seriously love Alan Tudyk, he was superb in Dollhouse. You have to hear his final thoughts on the show that will air its series finale episode this coming Friday night. Check out this video interview after the jump …

The 'Heroes' star was arrested for alleged DUI
Adrian Pasdar Busted!

Bummer news for fans of Heroes today … TMZ is reporting that Adrian Pasdar, one of the key stars of the NBC series, was arrested in the wee hours this morning on suspicion of drunk driving. According to the report, Pasdar was pulled over for speeding and it was then that police determined that he was driving while impaired:

Adrian Pasdar — the guy who plays the flying Senator Nathan Petrelli on “Heroes” — was busted for DUI early this morning after cops say he was burning rubber and swerving all over a Los Angeles freeway. TMZ has learned 44-year-old Pasdar was arrested at 2:59 AM after cops clocked him going more than 90 mph on the 405 Freeway in L.A. We’re told cops also noticed Pasdar was “failing to maintain his lane.” Law enforcement sources tell us when cops approached Pasdar’s ride, they detected the odor of alcohol — and decided to give him a field sobriety test. Pasdar was eventually placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI. Pasdar — who is married to Dixie Chicks singer Natalie Maines — was taken to a nearby jail, where he was booked and placed behind bars. He’s listed at 5’10″ and 175 lbs. His bail was set at $15,000 — we’re told the bail amount was so high because the actor refused to take a breathalyzer.

Firstly, I’m happy that no one was injured. Speeding, irregardless of drunk driving, is very dangerous and I’m pleased to know that no one was involved in any sort of accident. It is very common for lawyers to advise their clients to not submit to a breathalyzer test so I’m not all that surprised that Pasdar refused to submit. As with all allegations of drunk driving, I’m very disappointed to learn that usually intelligent people who should know better might be endangering the lives of other motorists, as well as their own lives. But, again, thankfully no one was injured … but I sincerely hope a lesson has been learned here.

So Freakin' Cute!
Hugh Jackman & Ava Eliot Go For A Stroll, A Bite

Here are a couple of super, supercute pics of daddy Hugh Jackman taking a stroll with his daughter Ava Eliot in NYC, NY yesterday afternoon. Hugh picked up his little girl from school and decided to grab a bite on the way home:

Hugh‘s sweet attentiveness to his children is such a delight to see. I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of seeing this kind of affection from the Jackman fam. I think I like seeing these kinds of pics so much because I remember when my mom used to walk me to school. Hugh Jackman seems like the perfect father, his kids are very lucky :)

"Once you get depressed, you don't really feel like doing anything"
Kevin Federline Claims Depression Led To His Obesity

Now, it’s really no secret that I am not the biggest fan of Kevin Federline. From the moment he entered Britney Spears‘s life, I considered him a terrible influence on her and very suspiciously watched him weasel his way deep into her life. I was never impressed with the way he treated her (or her money) and I have been less impressed with his behavior since the pair split. I am willing to give him marginal credit for stepping in to care for his children when Britney couldn’t but, in my mind, parents shouldn’t get “extra credit” merely because they are caring for their children no matter the circumstances — parents are parents always, period. I am giving this preface before I pass along some comments made by K-Fed in a new interview because I find them highly suspicious … in this new interview, he explains that “depression” is what led to the obesity he suffered last year which, coincidentally, occurred right before he scored a role on the VH1 reality TV series Celebrity Fit Club:

For Kevin Federline, the very public struggles came with a private pain, as his 2006 divorce from Britney Spears triggered depression and overeating. “Once you get depressed, you don’t really feel like doing anything,” Federline, 31, tells Access Hollywood. “You’re kind of discouraged about yourself and then the weight gain too, or that makes me more depressed. … I mean, it’s a combination of all of those things.” The difference for Federline was that his troubles played out on a public stage. “Everybody knows what happened with me and Brit,” he says. “I’m not going to say that’s the total cause of it but, I mean, just not being happy with myself was probably the main part of my depression.” Now slimmed down thanks to his work on VH1′s Celebrity Fit Club: Boot Camp, Federline says his life is turning around, and that he now can be friends with Spears, 28, with whom he has two boys. “I think as time goes on, it keeps getting better and better and better,” he tells Access Hollywood. “I mean, I’m really happy the way that my life is going right now, I really am. I think, you know, I have come a long way. All of us have…my whole family. It’s gotten so much better from where we were.”

You’ll have to pardon my pessimism but I don’t really take these comments at face value. Spederline split up back in 2006 but it wasn’t until 2009 that he started to put on this massive weight. He was already with current girlfriend Victoria Prince and he had already been enjoying large sums of alimony from his divorce from Spears (traveling the world on her dime for free). I’m not sure where the depression comes in. Federline put the weight on very fast (in a matter of months, rather than over a span of years) and as soon as he reached maximum density, he signed on to appear on a competitive reality TV program so that he could lose the weight. His comments do not jibe with me. Now, of course there could be some level of depression and I’m even willing to admit that his comments are 100% true BUT, based on the way he has been living his life in the public eye and the suspicious way he gained all of this “depression weight”, I’m not willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. Naturally, there may be some who do not agree with me … and that’s fine. Also, my comments have no bearing on people who suffer from genuine bouts of depression. I just find this interview dubious at best. For the sake of his children, who undoubtedly love their father, I hope Kevin Federline takes better care of his health in the future so that they can grow up with both parents in their lives.
