Sir Ian McKellen Wants You To Know That ‘Some People Are Gay’

"Get over it"

Ricky Martin posted a very cool photo of Sir Ian McKellen on his official Twitter profile. What is really awesome, besides the fact that Ricky and Sir Ian are BFF, is the message that is given by McKellen‘s t-shirt … behold:

The message doesn’t get more simple than that. The shirt is being sold to raise funds for the British GLBT charity called Stonewall, you can get your shirt HERE. I really love how this shirt just speaks for itself, don’t you?

It’s not just a shirt, it’s a big british campaign over here, there are buses with the slogan ‘Some people are gay, get over it’, walls in train/bus/underground stations, billboards, all sorts.

    I love it

  17. Tracy

Yes! I love that shirt. I’m not gay but I would love to get one to support my friends. As for Ian…love him. I always wanted him to play Dumbledore after the first actor passed away (don’t remember his name). But, I think Ian was tied up with Lord of the Rings at the time.

  18. Tracy

@Trent ~ Do you know if I can get the shirt in a different color?

  19. Isabelle

  20. Ramon

I love this shirt! And @Aislin is right, last year when I went to England the posters where everywhere, even in a high school I visited. They should have this in America.

and this is just such a great website too: http://www.thisisoz.com.au/
I hope you see this! Maybe you could post it on twitter or even here?… i know you have a ton of Aussie fans ;)

@Trent, the facebook campaign and google have a ton of images of the buses and billboards and stuff.

I’m all for it but there was a fair bit of outcry over it, it’s not the first time we’ve run controversial campaigns of this scale either. A while back a church group ran a bible quote, in response britain’s atheists responded with ‘There is probably no god, get on with your lives’. So far nobody’s hit back at the get over it campaign. I hope they don’t, I really like it.
