The new version of the classic 80′s horror film A Nightmare on Elm Street opens in theaters next Friday April 30 but today we get to check one more very cool (tho EXTREMELY irritating) promo item to get us jazzed for the film’s release. Motion posters are all the rage these days, Terminator: Salvation had one, SAW VI had one and now A Nightmare on Elm Street has one:

As you may know, motion posters can only exist online because they are not static images only. Motion posters employ motion and sound to create a more attention-grabbing promo experience … and they are very effective. The new motion poster for Nightmare is just the kind of freaky, creepy and EXTREMELY irritating experience that will surely heighten your excitement (and anxiety) for the film. After the jump, check out this very cool new motion poster — in order to experience it properly, make sure you have the sound on your computer turned way up before you click thru …
Ahhhhh!! Is that not the coolest and most irriating thing you’ve ever seen/heard? Nails on a chalkboard don’t really bother me as much as other things (like people who bite their forks, UGH!!!!!) but I think it’s brilliant for the promo folks at Warner Bros. to use that irritating effect in this new motion poster. Cool, huh? Are any of y’all planning on seeing A Nightmare on Elm Street next week? I’ll be there for sure!

oh wow that made me jump.. good thing i wasn’t holding my coffee at the moment!
Aw I can’t hear/see it cause I’m looking at this on my phone, hah. But I can’t wait to see this movie :) hopefully I will have some money so I can see it when it comes out!
BAHAHAH i jumped and my mom gave me the funniest look. nothing like starting your day with a minor heart attack.
I too add the “fork/spoon click” as one of my top pet peeves, its right below the microwave not being cleard and still having seconds on it.!
hehe..i jumped too–Can’t wait for this movie! @TRENT..”people who bite their forks”, I’m right there with you…I hate that! I have a group of friends over every Sunday night for dinner/Amazing Race/Desperate Housewives and I started giving one of them a plastic fork because we can’t break him of it
This made me jump too. I had the speakers up, and I was like “This won’t be scary…” but sure enough, I jumped and screamed, like a girl. :)
Ahhhh!! Make it stop! Make it STOPPPPP!! Brilliant idea for a promo add! I’m not sure if I’m brave enough to see the movie in theaters, but I’m trying to pump myself up enough to go!
@everyone – The fork thing doesn’t bother me..But loud chewers do..And snapping of gum..I almost smacked a girl at my school’s computer lab cuz she WOULDN’T STOP SNAPPING HER GUM!! I got up and moved instead.. :)
WTF! That scared me to death!
That didn’t really scare me but I still think it’s pretty cool. I don’t like his face or VOICE, for that matter. Oh well. I’m still going to see it. : ) Oh! And I hate it when people scrape their forks against a plate! Sooooooooooooo annoying.
hell yeahhhhhh i was an extra in this!! ive been waiting foooooooooooor everrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr to see it!!
Soooo pumped for this. Its one of my fave horror movies and Katie Cassidy is AMAZING.
My uncle and I are watching the original tomorrow night to get ourselves ready!
