Whitney Houston, who has been enjoying a great career comeback in the past few months, has dusted off her old fur coat (you remember, that ratty-ass coat she used to wear in her darker days) for a recent visit to Moscow, Russia:

UGH … that coat. Well, at least she got a new hat to match. You may recall that Whitney previously visited France and Germany so it makes sense that she would want to visit Russia, too. Multiple Grammy award-winner Whitney Houston [started] her worldwide comeback in Moscow on Wednesday, [to be] followed by a concert at the Ice Palace in St. Petersburg on Saturday. Houston’s Russian concerts will serve as a rehearsal for the pop diva’s World Tour, which starts in Japan in February 2010. The pop singer has a new album, “I Look to You,” following a long period of drug abuse and a much-publicized divorce from singer Bobby Brown. “This is my first full tour since the ‘My Love Is Your Love’ tour in 1999, and I am so excited to be performing for my fans around the world after all this time,” Houston said in an official statement. Houston’s return to the spotlight was marked with an interview on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” and more exotically by her performing a concert in Astana, Kazakhstan in July on President Nursultan Nazarbayev’s birthday, which was broadcast on national television … Houston retains many fans in the former Soviet Union because of the huge popularity of the film The Bodyguard, which was seemingly played on a loop for much of the 1990s.

HMMM … I have not heard much news of this World Tour which is supposed to take place next year but I am deffo all for it. I’d love to see Whitney Houston perform live in concert. Here’s hoping that Whitney‘s Russian concerts turn out to be huge successes … and here’s hoping that Whitney picks up a new coat while she’s in Russia, too.
