Rihanna, who recently got herself a new tattoo after performing as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live and who is featured on the cover of the new issue of GQ magazine right now, has released her third music video (after Wait Your Turn (The Wait Is Ova) and Russian Roulette) from her new album Rated R … which was just released last month. Of the 3 music videos released from this new album, this track is the most up-beat … and yet, it still is not a club banger. It occurs to me that all the yeah yeah yeahs in the track hearken back to the ella ella ellas in her biggest hit song Umbrella … like she was trying to score another massive hit song. I’m sure Rihanna‘s detractors will have many negative things to say about this video but I like it. It’s fun, sexy and apropos for the lyrics. This is the song I want to hear remixed into a club jam … the song just needs to be kicked into gear with a faster beat. What do y’all think, do we like Rihanna‘s video for Hard?

In my opinion, both GaGa and Beyonce copy Rihanna as far as her style goes. Rihanna has been sporting this style since early 2008. I like the song and the video is pretty amazing. It really annoys me when people see someone dress weird or what not people think, “OMG they’re copying Lady GaGa!” people act as if GaGa is the one who brought this new style all on her own. Hi, she didn’t.

with that being said- that song is CONSTANTLY IN MY HEAD.. so she’s doing something right!
I like the song but i’m just not into the slutty thing. You can be sexy with clothes on. And its weird, but so many artists are trying to be edgy and different and shocking that it just becomes boring almost.

I agree with Megan… it’s becoming sort of “been there, done that” with the new ‘edgy’ clothing choices.
And I think Rihanna needs to put some clothes on… I can’t help but feel terrible pity for her because it seems like everytime I see her, her boobs are hanging out. Oh, and enough with a crotch grabs/rubs.
It seems almost like she’s doing all this to get some sort of ‘control’ over her life or something… I’m all for her doing whatever healing process she needs to do (talking about it, etc)… but a sweater on or something. You’re better then that, Rihanna.
