‘Sex And The City 2’ Releases First Movie Trailer
"Sometimes, you just have to get away with the girls"
Earlier this month we got our first look at the first movie poster for the upcoming sequel film Sex and the City 2, followed shortly thereafter by the first promo photos from the film. Today we get to see the first movie trailer for the film, due out next May. Here are a few screencaps:

OMG … the trailer is just a little over a minute long and it looks fantastic. Vacation seems to be the theme of Sex and the City 2 … I can’t wait. After the jump, check out the trailer in full and see for yourselves …
It looks damn good, don’t it? But this trailer begs the question … why does Carrie still have her apartment? Unless it’s a flashback scene, something’s up. Get here soon, May 28 … I can’t wait to find out!! Woot!!

Excited squeals were had by me! Haha. Cannot wait. I’m loving the movies coming out next year.

@canauaussiegirl – No, I agree with you. I felt that the series ended in a way that few televisions shows manage to do – perfectly. Though I went and saw the movie and enjoyed it, I talked to many, many SATC fans who were disappointed with the de-evolution of the characters, who fans had watched grow over many years. I think SATC fans can still enjoy the movies, but maybe in the way that fans of a book or graphic novel can enjoy big screen adaptations – separately as a different art form altogether. I personally don’t put the last movie or this one in the SATC mythos – they don’t fit. They’re fun, but they don’t fit at all.

My main complaint about movie #1 was that they didnt have enough of a storyline for Charlotte and Miranda to make a movie. They left Charlotte with nothing and made Steve cheat on Miranda to give her a storyline…the Steve in the tv show NEVER would have cheated on Miranda! It literally was like they couldnt think of ANYTHING else!
Hmm…I thought she kept the apartment as her office in the SATC movie?
Also, I agree with canauaussiegirl, C & JeniLee. It should’ve been left alone. The first movie was like one long episode to me, & I LOVED the show but I only liked the movie. I thought the movie made Carrie waaaaaaaay more bratty. She’s always been but in the movie, I left hating that character. I don’t want the films to ruin what the show was.
I’m hopeful, though.
I agree with C and JenLee, my biggest beef with these whole STAC movie thing is that they’re systematically deconstructing everything that was great about the show to begin with, no matter how much I may have enjoyed it. They’re putting way too much emphasis on the fashion and glamourous lives of these characters, for instance. Sure, the show had a lot to do with fashion, but they went to great lengths not to make it THE focal point. Now all they do is advertise both movies as movies about the clothes. Labels and love anyone? The heart of the show was always the relationships and it’s that core that made the rest viable and not superficial. Not to mention the fact that they’re leaving NYC every chance they get, which misses the point on so many different levels. It’s called Sex and the CITY after all. And don’t even get me started on the whole deconstruction of the Carrie character. Yes, she was a hopeless romantic, but hers was NEVER a Cinderella story. That was the whole point of the series. Whereas now…. it’s all they seem to be doing. I will see it, and probably will enjoy it too, but I just hope that it doesn’t keep tarnishing the legacy of one of the greatest stories told on tv.
Forgot to ask, does anyone think Samantha’s face look…. odd? Please don’t let it be true! I never saw Kim as a cheek implants kind of gal.
WHY IS SHE AT HER OLD CLOSET!!!! it’s killing me, i wanna know!
Interesting to hear what other people think! I just watched the movie for the first time last week, and I thought it was like a string of so-so episodes taped together- boring and depressing, mostly- not movie-worthy material. I couldn’t even sit all the way through, and ending up watching it over the span of a few days
one word- FABULOUS!
