Ryan Phillippe Prepares For Xmas With The Kiddies
Here are a few cute pics of hunky Ryan Phillippe, who appears to be suffering from an injured foot these days, as he stepped out and about in SoCal with his children Ava Elizabeth and Deacon Reese. The happy family spent the day running errands and soaking up the SoCal sun as they got themselves ready for Xmas:
It’s unclear if Ryan will be able to celebrate Xmas with the kids this year or if they will be with their newly single mother Reese Witherspoon. While Ryan had the kids here in SoCal this week, Reese was off taking care of biz in NYC all by herself. After the jump, check out a couple photos of Reese on the East Coast …
It would appear that Reese ain’t lettin’ her break-up with boyfriend Jake Gyllenhaal keep her down, no siree. I bet she is anxious to take care of biz as quickly as she can so that she can get back to her children. Wouldn’t it be nice if Reese and Ryan were able to spend Xmas with their kids together again? I don’t know about you but I’m dreaming of a Witherppe Xmas.

Today, with knowledge of classical languages being less widespread, some erroneously believe that the term Xmas was devised as part of an effort to ‘take Christ out of Christmas’ or to literally ‘cross out Christ’” Education is your friend. Trent, you are so right on with your Greek. I’m a geeky theologian who has learned ancient languages for my scholarly work. I use the “X” abbreviation all the time when teaching. So, Merry Xmas and a Happy Winter Solstice to you too!!

I’m still holding out hope for a GyllenSpoon reunion. Since People.com is reporting that Jake is hanging out in NYC, maybe Reese’s visit isn’t so business-related. *fingers crossed*

Trent, you are so well educated, and absolutely correct about the X in Xmas. As for the Phillippe/Witherspoon combined Xmas, I hear that Ryan has gone over to Reese’s house every Christmas morning since the split so that the children can be with both parents on that day. And srsly, yes, Ava looks just like her momma here, right down to the boots and shades. Too cute. And Deacon is adorable in his new Phillies shirt.

@all, that is very interesting. However, I am an American, I speak English, and use the modern American alphabet (yes, I know it has Greek roots, but that has nothing to do with my point). So I will keep saying and spelling Christmas. Merry Christmas to all of you I,and hope that you are all as blessed as I am.
