Robert Pattinson, who is trying to enjoy some downtime in between the frantic craziness of promoting anything that has anything to do with The Twilight Saga franchise of films, made his way out to the Hotel Cafe here in SoCal last night to attend a Bobby Long concert … but that was pretty much all he was interested in doing ‘cuz when the paps came out to take some photos, R. Pattz was not at all interested in smiling for the cameras:

Poor Robbie. It must be really hard to be rich and famous. You’ve got all that money to worry about, all those amazing perks to sift thru and enjoy, all that insane loyal devotion from legions of fans … rough biz. Ah well, hopefully the crush of fame will ease up at some point. Sure, he still has one more movie to promote (The Twilight Saga: Eclipse) and one more movie to film (The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, which will most assuredly go into production soon enough) and then he might get his life back. Of course, there is a chance that future Twilight movies might come his way, resulting in even more ghastly amounts of money going into his bank accounts. Poor guy. You gotta feel sorry for him, right?

For some reason when people try and hide from the camera, I think it makes them look kind of funny. A lot more entertaining to look at then when they are simply walking around, posing and smiling for the cameras.
yes i think i feel a bit sorry for him, even if he makes tons of money. he can’t go anywhere anymore without being followed by photographers and hysterical teenagers who want to bite his neck. i read somewhere that in the last year he only felt safe on the film set and in his hotel room and that’s a pretty sad state of affairs. having millions in the bank won’t change that, he’s a prisoner of his own success at the moment. i guess that if he’d have know all this in advance, he would have thought twice before getting on board this crazy train.
I just want to know why he seems to be wearing a hat of my alma mater. Go Long Beach State!
After a while I am pretty sure some people would trade money for a just a moment of anonymity. money isnt everything in this world. I agree with ninette, I think that is Robert Pattinson and the same for kristen stewart knew what they knew now, they would have thought twice about doing the while twilight thing. You can tell the difference between REAL actors who act for the love of the ‘craft’ and for art (ala k stew) and those in it for the fame…people like the kardashians and speidi etc etc
Apparently you feel every celeb should halt what they are doing and stand for a pic? Or smile and wave? Maybe he just got some bad news. Maybe he doesn’t feel well. Oh, who cares? Maybe he should just go sift through his money to feel better. You know, because what else would there be to complain about? He is hounded day and night, I’m sure it gets a little tiring. I just don’t get it when people complain about celebs shying away from the cameras. They aren’t our public property and they owe us nothing. I’m not even a big fan of him, it’s just so annoying when people expect something out of someone like that, and the snarky know it all commentary is grating. Fame and money does not mean you are happy or at peace with yourself. You’re probably just too busy sifting through photos of celebs for you to comment on so YOU can make money.
@Justin — Yep.
Oh, come on Trent… that’s really harsh.
Just cos he’s famous… does that mean he has to grin for every rude man with a camera who gets in his face? There are MANY ways to make all sorts of money – you can’t say you know whether he chose acting for money, fame, or actual passion for movie acting. You might remember a time when people got photographed at premieres, and that was it. You can’t get bitchy with someone for not wanting to smile.
@Ben — Harsh? What exactly did I say that was harsh?
I don’t feel sorry for him for experiencing part of his job (take the good with bad, right?). Wrong or right, the business is what it is, and he choose to be in it. That said, I also don’t blame him for whatever his reaction may be to these situations. Of course, I’m appreciative of those that handle it more graciously, but as long as he doesn’t get violent or completely rude, I could care less. I also share @Anna’s opinion, they kind of look sillier when they are trying to hide themselves … =/ … ummm, what exactly are they trying to accomplish? lol
I wonder how many stars have agoraphobia because they can’t go anywhere without “everyone watching” them.
I totally feel sorry for him. He’s been hounded for a year now. Can’t you imagine how stressful it would be to always have to be “on” every time you went out your door, Trent? And money doesn’t compensate for everything.
IMO, i think trent would love all the attention.
Trent, i think you being VERY sarcastic which isn’t needed. He isn’t Lindsay Lohan or Paris Hilton who goes looking for the cameras. He is an actor & he was lucky enough to land into this role of “Edward” in Twilight. I don’t think just because he makes “a lot” of money, means he needs to be hounded. He deserves privacy just like everybody else. And yah, it doesn’t matter how many millions you paid me…To not be able to simply walk out & grab a drink with my friends without 100 people/cameras coming up to me sounds like the worst thing in the world….TO PEOPLE WHO DON’T WANT IT!!!!! Again, there are MANY fame whore out there who DO. He isn’t one of them
It goes with the territory.
woohoo CSULB
You know what, maybe it isn’t too pleasant to have your picture taken all the time. so what. maybe people should defend someone who has to make a REAL sacrifice for their career; firefighter, doctor, whatever. Lighten up. Yes, maybe it sucks, but celebs have it pretty easy in comparison.
i kinda feel sorry for him, i don’t imagine he would have taken the job if he had know it was going to consume his whole life. plus now he is forever going to be “that vampire guy”, it’s going to be hard to move away from that image.
I mean this is what comes with being a celebrity. I do feel bad tho cause he just wants to enjoy a concert. Maybe he just wasn’t in the mood to smile (maybe he got into with KS) LOL
he never WANTED to be a celeb. read my post. just because you are an actor, it does NOT make you a celeb. Let these people enjoy themselves, jesus christ
I agree with those that said it comes with the territory. You can’t make a teeny-bopper (not that its a bad thing before you all attack me) film like that, and not expect paparazzi and fans to be on you 24/7. Its their job, whether they like it or not. And im not saying he deserves it, but he should expect it because apparently its not going to go away for sometime. Hiding against a wall though?
Damn, Bobby Long is looking good!
meh. if photogs did this to me i would hit them. sorry (not really). thank god im not famous.
