Robert Downey, Jr., who will bring the famed literary character Sherlock Holmes to life on the big screen this Xmas, was hand for a special ceremony at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre on Hollywood Blvd. yesterday. RDJ imprinted his hand and footprints into cement along with his autograph for immortalization on H’wood Blvd. Here are a few photos:
Robert Downey, Jr. doesn’t turn off the entertaining gene even when he’s being honored. The “Sherlock Holmes” and “Iron Man” star hammed it up and hunkered down to leave his hand and footprints in the cement in front of Hollywood’s famed Grauman’s Chinese Theatre on Monday, Dec. 7. Also on hand to support the 44-year-old was his mother Elsie and wife Susan. Downey has received two Oscar nominations, one for his lead role in “Chaplin” and another for a supporting turn in “Tropic Thunder.”
Interestingly enough, Charlie Chaplin who RDJ played in the film Chaplin also has his hand and footprints imprinted in front of Grauman’s Chinese Theatre. It’s really fantastic to see RDJ enjoying so much success these days … it is much deserved, especially after all of the work he’s done cleaning up his act. An honor like this couldn’t have happened to a more deserving (or wackier) person. Congrats!!

He looks absolutely adorable and happy. I never think about his past situation when I see pics of him. I’m glad he’s having great success.
I never think of past problems other than to be so happy with how his career is going. He seems incredibly appreciative. I am really excited about seeing Sherlock Holmes!
I agree with Trent RDJ really went through more hell then a lot of other ppl in HW have. I feel like he did his time and he fight all his inner demons and won.. He is very deserving! Congrats to him keep up the great work RDJ :)
I watched this on Grauman’s webcam and it was so worth it! No one brings the quiver like RDJ…
wow… shocked to see this only because i thought he’d already would have had one. this man is the oppitomy of a great actor. i honestly can’t thing of one performance of his that i wasn’t blown away by. congrats to him in his personal sucesses and professional… it is long over due!!!!
Well-deserved. I am very happy that he is getting all the attention and work he deserves now. Cannot wait to see more from this funny and great actor. :)
