Here are a couple of new, as-yet unseen promo photos from the big budge action film Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time based on the video game of the same name and which stars hottie Jake Gyllenhaal:
As you may recall, we got to see the first movie trailer from Persia early last month and since that time, I’ve been able to see it a couple of times on the big screen in front of movies I’ve seen recently. As much as it pains me to say this about my Jakey poo, I really think this movie is going to not only be a bomb but it is going to be an embarrassment for Jake. I just cannot take the man serious when he speaks with that accent … it’s just … laughable. I would love nothing more than for Jake to become a big action star but nothing I’ve seen from the film thus far has made me a believer. I guess we’ll have to see how the movie turns out cuz, believe me, I’ll be there to see it — for sure! I’m just a bit worried, tho, that it’s not going to be the blockbuster they’re prolly hoping it will be. As much as I love Jake, he’s yet to prove that he can carry a big film on his own. He sure is purdy tho, at least he’s got that going for him.

This movie seems like such a turn off for some reason.

I’ve never been very impressed with this film from the earliest pix…you know, the ones showing a long haired Jake all oiled up with a chest as big as a small child. It just didn’t say Jake Gyllenhaal to me. I thought, and still think, he looked ridiculous. He’s an ACTOR for gosh sakes, not a poser. And now my gentlest, kindest blogger, Trent, is saying it doesn’t work. Sigh. May I add some snarkiness? I think Reese saw the early clips and bailed on her showmance. If this was going to be a hit, they would still be an item. Aren’t I just the devil for saying that?
And that’s exactly why they should cast a white dude to play the prince of PERSIA.

wow you and some followers are all a bunch of grumpy sticks in the mud. You have only seen a trailer and a few photos and already you have such negative opinions. I thought the trailer was awesome and special effects looked real cool! Jake looks so hot!! the movie looked like a fun watch!!! I can’t wait to see it and i think it’s going to do well! we’ll just have to wait and see..

I really don’t think his accent is that bad. I think the movie looks pretty good as well. Will it be as good as the game? probably not but these things never are.

i totally agree with keri. i’ve seen the trailer and it looks really good. the special effects are amazing. jake looks awesome. i’m looking forward to seeing the movie when it comes out in may.

Hell yeah I’ve seen the game, that was one of my fave games growing up on super nintendo!! Still don’t think that white people should be playing the Prince of Persia… he’s not “tan” (wtf) he’s PERSIAN… it’s a different ethnicity. Persians aren’t white, sorry. Honestly, there are already no roles for people of color in Hollywood so I don’t see why they have to give a role that calls for a different ethnicity to a white person.
I agree with Ella! PoP is one of my fave games and although I think Jake goods hot..he’s not Persian and I was disappointed they couldn’t at least hire a Middle Eastern actor. I rather have a “no body” actor play the prince.
