Sad news to pass along today to fans of The Tyra Banks Show (all 7 of you) … Tyra Banks herself has issued a statement announcing the end of her talk show of 5 years. According to Tyra, The Tyra Banks Show will be peaced the spork out at the end of this season … it’s dunzo, y’all:

After five seasons, two Daytime Emmy awards and too many girl-power episodes to count, Tyra Banks is announcing the end of The Tyra Show. “This will be the last season of The Tyra Show,” Banks tells PEOPLE exclusively. “I’ve been loving having fun, coming into your living rooms, bedrooms, hair salons for the past 5 years.” Wrapping at the end of its fifth season in the spring of 2010, it will be lights out for the show that brought viewers memorable weave-exposing, cellulite-revealing and tear-jerking moments. Banks will focus on the launch of Bankable Studios, a N.Y.-based film production company currently reviewing possible projects. Sticking to her mission, Banks aims to bring “positive images of women to the big screen,” says an industry insider. “My next huge steps will allow me to reach more women and young girls to help us all feel as fierce as we truly are,” Banks says. Adds the insider: “Tyra is sad because she’ll be missing so much of the daily connection to her viewers, but excited at the same time to be taking on a new challenge.” With encouragement from filmmaker Tyler Perry and longtime mentor Oprah Winfrey, Banks is “redefining beauty for women in film,” adds the source. “With Oprah’s big announcement this year, I think that gave Tyra the confidence to get out there and follow her longtime dream of film producing” … “There’s a lot cooking right now and a lot of fire burning in my heart,” Banks writes in an open letter on her Web site. “And I salute you my amazing family of viewers; without you there never would have been a Tyra Show. I really love you all.”

I mean, I guess it’s smart of folks to try and link the end of The Oprah Winfrey Show with the end of The Tyra Banks Show in an effort to make the end of Tyra‘s show seem like a bold move forward. But I’m convinced that the end of Tyra‘s show came not from her decision to work on other projects and came as a result of low ratings. Even still, The Tyra Banks Show was for a while the new Ricki Lake Show (which was the dominant daytime talk show for younger viewers in the 90′s) which is a feat in and of itself. I was never a fan of Tyra‘s show and I doubt I’ve ever watched an ep in full so I surely won’t miss it. I suppose this paves the way for Wendy Williams to be the new queen of the younger daytime TV talkshow demographic. Heaven help us all.

A couple of months ago we learned that adidas Originals would be releasing a collection of shoes and apparel inspired by the iconic film series Star Wars. Today we get to check out some of these amazing designs, some of which are already available for sale or presale:

The collection for the first season is split into three packs — The Characters Pack, the Vehicles Pack and the Direct Pack. The products in each pack take inspiration from the respective aspect of the Star Wars lexicon from legendary characters and crafts to classic scenes and fuse them with iconic adidas Originals silhouettes. The pieces will begin to hit all adidas Originals stores and other select retailers in January. Last week we saw photos of Guy Ritchie returning home to the UK from NYC with his sons Rocco James and David Banda ahead of the Xmas holiday and just a couple of days ago we saw photos of Chifundo Mercy James, Madonna‘s youngest daughter, gettin’ a gander at her first Xmas present since being adopted into the family. Today we get to see a few photos of Madonna with all of her children, including Lourdes Maria and David Banda, as they made their way to their London home after a visit to the Kabbalah Centre:

I understand that Maddy did spend at least some of Xmas day with ex-hubby Guy and the kids, which I think is really lovely. Madonna took the kids to the Kabbalah Centre for a Boxing Day celebration yesterday and, I’m sure, a great time was had by all. It’s really great that Madonna and Guy can keep things relatively happy and civil for their children. If the rumors are to be believed, Madonna and Guy have been in “friend” mode for many months leading up to their divorce. Whatever their deal may be, I’m pleased to know that they are keepin’ things cool for the kiddies :)

Yesterday was my last day of bachelorhood for 2009 as David is due to arrive from his Florida Xmas vacay in about an hour but I did make the most of my solitude. Lots of reading, lots of movie watching. I got roped into watching Rosemary’s Baby, Hackers and one of my fave movies of all time, The Craft:

I have prolly seen The Craft at least a 100 times or more. I remember when it came out in theaters, I think I saw it a few times on the big screen and then wore out my VHS copy of the movie before getting my hands on a DVD. To say that the film had a profound effect on me would be an understatement. The soundtrack is seriously one of the best of the 90′s … ah, it was nice to see the movie again last night.

But, I must be off to the airport now to pick up my boo. I’m glad he’s getting in so early because we’ll be able to spend the day together. Who know what adventures we’ll get up to today. We are heading into the final days of 2009, the final days of the 00′s … make the most of them. There’s a brave new 2010 out there and I cannot WAIT for it’s arrival :)

HMMMM … it appears that congratulations are in order for newlyweds Paris Hilton and British TV personality Piers Morgan because the pair got MARRIED in Las Vegas, NV this week!! Don’t believe me? Here are the photos:

Surely a wedding ceremony this elaborate couldn’t be a joke … right? Well, actually … it was. Morgan, a judge on Britain’s Got Talent, was filming a bit for an upcoming TV special which will air in the UK on Sunday and decided it would be funny to stage a fake wedding ceremony to Paris Hilton (of all people). I guess all the strippers who he asked first turned him down. HMMMM:

He may be a happily engaged man, but that didn’t stop Piers Morgan eloping to Vegas to ‘marry’ a blonde 16 years his junior. And his bride? The socialite hotel heiress Paris Hilton. In typical Vegas style, Mr Morgan, who announced his engagement to writer Celia Walden only two weeks ago, got ‘hitched’ under the watchful eyes of an Elvis impersonator, a Marilyn Monroe lookalike and several Rat Pack mimics. Mr Morgan, 44, joked of his ‘Sin City’ wedding: ‘You know what it’s like – you have a few drinks, spend too long on the blackjack table, get over-excited and decide to do something silly. ‘I have to say, Paris scrubbed up to be a beautiful bride. It was magical.’ However, given The Mail on Sunday columnist’s reputation for self-promotion, it will come as little surprise to discover that the wedding was staged for his forthcoming ITV1 show. Although the 15-minute service at the Little Church of the West was not official, there were times when the Britain’s Got Talent judge feared it may have gone too far. ‘Well, I don’t think I signed anything, so I’m pretty sure it’s not actually legal,’ he said. ‘Having said that, we did go through all the vows, so I can’t be entirely sure.’ Miss Hilton, 28, wore an Enzoani ivory dress for the ceremony, and was given a diamond-encrusted ring by Mr Morgan. They met in a hotel room beforehand and chatted on the bed for the ITV show Piers Morgan On…Las Vegas, which airs on Saturday. Miss Hilton said: ‘You can do anything here, it’s crazy. What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas!’ In real life, Mr Morgan proposed to Ms Walden, the daughter of former Tory MP George Walden, earlier this month, during a romantic stay in Paris. But Ms Walden took the Vegas wedding in her stride. ‘When I told her the news, she just shrugged her shoulders sadly and said, “How can I ever compete with Paris Hilton?”,’ Mr Morgan said.

Awww, don’t sell yourself short, sweetie … Paris Hilton really isn’t all that. While I have no idea who this Piers Morgan person is, I can’t say that I blame him for getting Hilton in on his gag. Hasty Vegas weddings are notoriously tragic and I cannot think of a more tragic scenario then gettin’ legally wed to Paris Hilton. But, ya know, considering how well Paris and current beau Doug Reinhardt have been doing in the past year or so, it might not be too long before we hear wedding bells for Pug Dilton … what a gloriously tragic day that would be.

Julie Benz, one of my favorite TV actresses from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel and Dexter, was spotted roaming the streets of West Hollywood, CA this week after meeting up with friends for lunch. As is plainly obvs from these photos, Julie was lookin’ as cute as can be all bundled against the chilly SoCal weather:

As you may recall, Julie very graciously gave me an interview regarding the SHOCKING season 4 finale episode of Dexter a couple of weeks ago so she will be forever endeared to my heart (tho, she already was endeared to me by virtue of her Buffyverseness). Considering how SHOCKING this season of Dexter ended this year, Julie looks to be in fine spirits. I love her dearly and I wish nothing but the best in the coming year. I’m quite sure we’ll be seeing much more of the beautiful Ms. Benz in 2010 ;)

Earlier this week we saw a few photos of Sienna Miller enjoying the sun and surf in Barbados all by herself … but I suspected that she was just biding her time until she was able to meet up with her new lover Jude Law (who she’s been creepin’ all over NYC with in the past few weeks). In an interview with David Letterman a couple of weeks ago, Jude confessed that he would be taking his children (his 3 eldest children, that is … no mention was made of his 4th child Sophia who was born of a tryst affair with Samantha Burke earlier this year) to the beach for the Xmas holiday. I guessed that Jude would be taking his kids to the same beach that Sienna was enjoying all by herself this week … and I was right. Here are photos of JuSie reunited in Barbados with his children Rafferty, Iris and Rudy:

Oh man, I SO called it. And now that Jude and Sienna are jetting off to holiday destinations together, I think it’s very safe to totally assume that they are “together” again. In the wake of Charlie Sheen‘s Xmas morning arrest in Aspen, CO on allegations that he physically assaulted his intoxicated wife Brooke Mueller there is a new report from RadarOnline that claims that Mueller has decided to file divorce papers and will do so very shortly … meaning that the couple, who were married in March of ’08, are totally dunzo!

It’s over between Charlie Sheen and Brooke Mueller after less than two years of marriage, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively. Sheen’s arrest on felony domestic violence charges followed a night of arguing after a quiet trial separation of the couple, sources tell RadarOnline.com exclusively. Mueller has now decided that she will file divorce papers in the very near future, we’ve learned exclusively. After the Christmas morning incident, where Mueller told sources Charlie tried to choke her, the actor’s representatives quickly moved into damage control mode. Sources close to Mueller told RadarOnline.com that Team Sheen pressured her to recant and even suggested the exact words she should use! Late on Christmas day Mueller did recant her version of the violence — after contact with Charlie’s reps. Mueller wants out of the marriage and has a prenuptial agreement. Sources told RadarOnline.com that money was discussed in connection with not further damaging Sheen’s already tattered reputation. Both Mueller and Sheen were partying the night before the incident and had alcohol in their systems at 8:34am when 911 was called. Sheen has been through rehab for drug and alcohol abuse. Sheen had just flown into Aspen, where Mueller rented a house and had been spending time without him in a trial separation, sources close to both Sheen and Mueller told RadarOnline.com. “Both of them are miserable in the marriage. That’s why they were apart,” a source who knows the couple told RadarOnline.com exclusively. “Both were separately telling friends their marriage was over before this happened.

BUT … another report from People magazine says differently … that report claims that things between Sheen and Mueller were not bad at all prior to this incident and that, indeed, the couple have decided to go to couple’s counseling in the wake of this incident in order to try and keep their marriage intact. They may not be so dunzo after all:

Charlie Sheen and wife Brooke Mueller are planning to undergo counseling after a heated fight at a dinner party in Aspen, Colo., that landed Charlie in jail on domestic violence charges Friday morning. “They were fighting at a dinner in a friend’s house and it continued until the next morning,” a source close to Mueller tells PEOPLE. “Both of them were drinking and neither was supposed to be. They both have histories of alcohol abuse and have made every effort to stop. But things got out of hand.” Sheen, 44, was booked at 11:20 a.m. for second-degree assault, menacing and criminal mischief, according to a spokesperson for the Pitkin County Sheriff’s Department in Aspen, Colo. The actor posted an $8,500 bond Friday night and was released from jail at 7 p.m. He is due in court on Feb. 8, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. “Charlie went right back to Los Angeles after he was released from jail,” the source tells PEOPLE. “Both he and Brooke will undergo counseling and Charlie will get anger management counseling.” Despite reports, the couple had not been separated in the weeks leading up to the Christmas morning 911 call at the house they were renting with their twin boys, Bob and Max, 9 months. “Brooke and Charlie have never been separated,” the source tells PEOPLE. “And the boys are fine – so precious. They knew nothing about a fight between their parents.” The actor’s Colorado-based attorney Richard Cummins tells PEOPLE, “They have two children together and they love one another and they’re going to work through what is a difficult time and they’re going to do that together and as privately as possible.” Sheen’s rep, Stan Rosenfield, had no further comment.

I dunno about any of this. Unfortch with incidents of domestic violence (whether alleged or not) this sort of back and forth is prevalent. I’m very concerned about these allegations that Mueller was forced to recant her claims of assault and now everything is just fine, they’re gonna “work on it” and stay together … of course, this is coming from HIS lawyer. We don’t know what really happened and it is unfair to automatically blame Sheen just because he is a man … but I’m of the mind that allegations of abuse by anyone should be taken very seriously. Whatever the case may be (or whatever the story we are finally told), it is my sincere hope that everyone involved is safe, sound and unharmed. We may never know what went down.
