Nicole Richie Shares Some New Family Photos

Nicole Richie, who just a week ago announced production of a new TV show, is once again sharing with readers of her official blog. Nicole posted a batch of supercute family photos which include her children, with Joel Madden, Harlow Winter Kate and Sparrow James Midnight (who was born in September) … behold:


Aren’t they the cutest lil’ family? This is the first time we are seeing little Sparrow James since he made his worldwide debut in the pages of People magazine in October. In these pics it kinda looks like Nicole cut off all of her hair … but her long hair may just be tucked behind her back. Honestly tho, I wouldn’t be surprised if Nicole did cut off her hair and went back to her shorter bob ‘do. After all, both Britney Spears and Taylor Swift are rockin’ new hair’dos these days. In any event, short hair or long, Nicole looks exceedingly happy with her lovely family. I imagine Nic/Joel and their children are really looking forward to sharing the best Xmas ever this year :)

    Ughh!! They are my favorite family outside of my own. Seriously, I love them. I also love how Nicole and Harlow are making goofy faces and Joel and Sparrow are basically making the same bored face in every picture hahahaha. SO CUTE!!!

    i agree with matt, i’d much rather see all of nicole’s beautiful face! that family looks/seems so happy, it’s nice to see. she has turned out to be a natural mother- i hope they continue to be happy together!

    I know everyone will disagree with me, but I feel these pictures are fine to share with family and friends…but sending them out to the world just seems a little invasive. It is selling your family for attention.

    Aww, these pictures are really adorable. I saw this yesterday and was wondering if you were going to post it. Also, I’m thinking that Nicole’s hair is just tied back. But she looks good with both short and long hair.

    @ Krissy- How is this selling their family? These photos aren’t from a magazine, but on Nicole’s own website. They aren’t making money from these photos. Just sharing goofy family pictures with their fans. If someone doesn’t want to look, they don’t have to. (sorry if this sounds rude)

    I just feel that these pictures are being used for self promotion at the expense of the children. For example, when you direct so much attention on them when they are young, if they go through an awkward phase at 10 years old, it will be in the public eye. I think it is healthier for children to have as much privacy as possible. It isn’t always easy when you are a celeb, but voluntarily sharing so many pictures of your children, you are exposing them to quite a bit of scrutiny that you might not always be able to control.

    Well I don’t agree with you about these photos being used for self promotion. But, I do agree with you about the other part. I don’t think Nicole and Joel were actually thinking about it like that, nor do I think any other parent that posts pictures of their child on the web(myspace,facebook etc..) are thinking ‘Oh what if this affects them somehow in the future’ and are instead thinking ‘I want to show my cute children to my friends’(because honestly, what parent doesn’t want their cute child to be seen?)

    I think Nicole and Joel are doing this for that reason, just to post pictures of their children for their friends and fans to see.

    At least they aren’t posting potty training pictures, or a new picture everyday(that would be an invasion of privacy). I think posting pictures like this once in awhile is fine. I’m sure that when Harlow and Sparrow get older, Nicole and Joel will post less pictures online of their children(because as a child matures, they won’t look that same as when they are at this age.)

    Um. Not only does Joel have the exact same facial expression in every photo, his hands look huge. It looks almost like he was photoshopped into the picture. His hands look disproportionate. Either something is fishy or Joel needs smaller hands and a bigger personality. can anyone else see that?

    Joel is a fully grown man holding a three month old baby. Hmm, I wonder why his hands look big.
