Last night my good friend Jordan and I made our way East to Pomona, CA to see Morrissey live in concert at the Fox Theater as he tours the US on The Swords Tour:

I’ve been a HUGE fan of Morrissey for years, decades now so I was very anxious to see him live in concert again. When last I saw Moz, I was still living in Detroit, MI and I saw him perform at the StateTheater on February 13, 2000. It was at that show that Morrissey stripped off his sweaty t-shirt and threw it high into the air and it came down right in my arms … the best Morrissey concert experience of my life. Unfortch, I was not lucky enough to get the sweaty shirt last night … but Jordan and I were treated to a pretty fantastic concert. First Of The Gang To Die

The show was AMAZING!! I squealed with GLEE every time he performed a Smiths song … ’twas awesome. I’m so glad that Jordan was able to go with me because we had the best time. Pomona, I learned, is only 40 mins. East of LA and despite the usually shitty traffic (there was none) and the torrential rain (which had ended before we got on the road) we got there in a flash. The venue was intimate and well sold-out … great, great show. I have tickets to see the Mozzer again on Friday in Ventura, CA … I am really looking forward to that show, too. Unless something else comes up, it will be my last concert of 2009 … and of the decade! If you have the chance to see Morrissey on this tour, SEE HIM! He looks and sounds amazing. You will love him live, I promise.

The Turtle Party: Book Club was meant to meet tonight but due to conflicting schedules, we have to postpone to next week. Which means, I now have a free Tuesday night. HMMM, what to do – what to do? Considering how cold it is outside, I’ll prolly just stay in and stay warm.
