Meet The Cast Of ‘Project Runway’ Season 7
Back so soon, Back in New York

Project Runway Season 6 may have only just ended last month but Lifetime TV wants you to know that Season 7 of the show (already filmed and in the can) will debut next month. That’s right folks, everyone’s fave competitive reality TV series ain’t wastin’ no time to bring us the goods. Here is our first look at the poster artwork for the new season of Project Runway:

While last season’s PR was filmed in LA, this new 7th season takes the action back to New York City! Here are a couple of promo pics of the new cast of contestants along with the season’s new models and the press release explaining all the Season 7 fun!

Lifetime Television and The Weinstein Company heat up winter with the return of 2009’s highest rated cable reality program among Women 18+ and in Households, Project Runway, as the series heads back to New York for an all-new season. Premiering on Thursday, January 14, 2010, at 10PM ET/PT, host Heidi Klum, mentor Tim Gunn, judges Michael Kors (leading designer) and Nina Garcia (fashion director for Marie Claire magazine) will be joined by 16 new designers vying for a shot to make their way to Bryant Park and show their collection in front of top industry insiders during New York Fashion Week. For Project Runway Season Seven, designers return to the Atlas apartments, Parsons work room and revisit the Manhattan Mood as they create their couture visions for the runway. As part of the winner’s prize package, the victorious designer will receive an editorial feature in Marie Claire magazine, the opportunity to sell their line on Bluefly.com, a $50,000 technology suite by HP and Intel to create, design and run their business, and a cash prize of $100,000 from L’Oréal Paris to launch their own fashion line. Season Two of Models of the Runway launches at 11:00PM ET/PT, beginning January 14, 2010, with 16 fresh faces aspiring for their chance at being paired with the last Project Runway designer standing on the catwalk. Models of the Runway provides a back-stage look at Project Runway from the models’ perspective. The winning model will receive a $25,000 cash prize from L’Oréal Paris Studio Secrets Professional make-up line and will also be featured in the designer’s fashion spread in Marie Claire. L’Oréal Paris cosmetics line and the haircare, styling and haircolor brand Garnier will return to serve as the official category partners for both series. In addition, Project Runway and Models of the Runway will be in High-Definition, where available, for the first time. Both series are produced by The Weinstein Company, Miramax Films, Bunim-Murray Productions and Full Picture.

Wee!! I loved last season’s PR and I am very excited that the show will be back so soon! As much as I liked that the gang were here in LA, I think the show works better in NYC … I think bringing the show back home to the Big Apple will resonate well with longtime fans. After the jump, check out promo pics of the PR contestants and find out who they are and where they are from …

Oh man, we haven’t even had season 6 down here in Australia yet. Not fair!

  2. ash says:

Yeah you may have loved the last season, but everyone agreed it wasn’t up to par with its previous seasons. Lets hope this one is MUCH better.

  3. Tara says:

I’ve never watched, but will this season. A friends daughter made the cut to be on the show. So I’ll be rooting for her!

  4. ET says:

Anthony Williams is so funny and a great designer. You’ll love him on the show!

  5. Chivonne says:

@ ash – I thought last season was up to par. I’m no sure who the everyone is that you are talking about but I haven’t met any of them besides you.

I’m so glad it is going to be back soon!!

  6. Ashlee says:

YAY! I love PR and can’t wait for the new season, my only qualms with the production of the show is their website. We don’t have TV because cable is more expensive than the internet so I watch everything on the net but the Lifetime website takes forever to load the shows! Usually I wouldn’t be able to watch the new episode until Saturday night!

  7. Ashley says:

I’m glad it’s moving back to NYC because it was about to meet my delete button after last season. Ugh. Just ugh.

  8. meg says:

@Chivonne– I am one of those people who disliked last season, and I think the general consensus (from what I’ve read on various different sites) is that the inconsistent judging led to the early elimination of some really great designers (namely Ra’mon and Epperson). This hopefully won’t be as much of a problem this season since Michael and Nina live in NYC and will actually be able to be there to judge.

With that said, does anyone else think Mila Hermanovski looks exactly like Louise from last season?! At least her hair does. For a second I thought they were brining Louise back to the show…

And one more thing: TRENT!! You MUST reinstate episode recaps. I remember bothering you about this last season, and I’m going to bother you again now! ;-)

  9. jen says:

I am another who hated last season. Yay for moving back to NYC-LA just didn’t cut it. Didn’t Tim look miserable-especially in the beach episode? And the main judges MK and Nina were never there.

  10. amanda says:

@Chivonne – i detested last season. i quit watching after epperson was kicked off, and only accidentally caught the finale (which was absolutely horrible).

i have been a PR fan since the first season, and was really disappointed with how little creativity there was in the challenges and the designers. i also missed actual criticism, which is almost exclusively provided by nina garcia. i’m excited that it’s back in NYC – the seat of fashion in the US. the move to LA never made any sense to me. for that reason alone, pretty much, i’m going to give this next season a chance and really hope really hard that it returns to its’ former addictive glory. well, i’m also unabashedly in love with tim gunn so i have to give it a chance for him as well.

@meg – i thought the same thing! i had to do a double take when i saw the picture. hope this one’s a better designer than louise is.

  11. javajunko says:

I’m getting a bit bored of this show, they should try and change it a bit, why not have male models instead to make clothes for, guys buy clothing as well….

  12. loonytick says:

Is it just me, or do those promo shots look like eight women, two haircuts?

  13. monique says:

y do they never have but 2 or 3 black ppl…smh i stopped watching this show about 3 seasons ago….i wush that they would just pack it up and move on b/c its the same ole thang like antm w/ tyra….ughh this is y i watch crap like jersey shore and other stoopid shows b/c i wanna be entertained not bored :(

  14. Tessa says:

    @loonytick- haha I totally agree

    Last Season was awful!
No one was likeable except for the people voted off way too early (malvin, epperson, jordanna). Everyone else was sooo boring or bitchy (Irina). Althea almost won and she had absolutely no personality and very little creativity. This her creative process every week: “Hmm? what should I make? High waisted bottoms and cute top??? Okay!”
I can’t believe they kept Logan that long either, it was only because he was hot.
And the judges made horrible decisions. And they were very inconsistent.
AND THE CHALLENGES WERE LAME. I remember when they used to have to make clothes out of produce and stuff. They didn’t do ANYTHING like that this season, except maybe the newspaper thing. THE FASHION SHOW on bravo has better challenges.
AND LINDSEY LOHAN was a judge! as if she knows anything about fashion or being classy or cute

Usually I don’t like being this critical, but I was very much looking foward to PR last season and it just killed me.

It felt like a personal attack.

  15. Trude says:

Wow those prizes sound really lush this time! But I could have sworn I’ve seen some of these competitors before…but none of them are repeats, right? Guess I’ve been watching for too long.

  16. CB says:

Ashlee: The episodes are only available online beginning Saturday mornings for contractual reasons, not to torture you. Still having to wait 36 hours without paying for cable is not bad trade!

  17. lulu says:

Trent, please do more recaps this season! I missed your’s last season..and just assumed you were as bored with it as I was.

  18. lulu says:

and…OMG i didn’t know Christian Bale was on it haha (i.e. Jesse LeNoir….very “American Psycho” looking like!!

  19. robin says:

so i was super excited last season when i found out shirin was from richardson, tx and another designer was from dallas, and now this amy girl is representing my home town of PLANO, TX! and another from dallas. GOO TEXAS! :)
