Marilyn Manson Confirms That He Is Back With Evan Rachel Wood
So the on-again off-again romance between Marilyn Manson (née Brian Warner) and Evan Rachel Wood appears to be back on again. You may recall that in November of last year ERW confirmed her split from MM and in December of last year, MM had already moved on with a new chick … in May of this year, there were rumors that Manson and Wood were back together but then in June of this year it looked like Evan had moved on and hooked up with actor Shane West. Cut to NOW and we are hearing from Marilyn Manson himself, in a new interview with Metal Hammer, that he and Evan Rachel Wood are back together again:
After some shocking behaviour in recent interviews Marilyn Manson is back with the woman he loves… “that’s kind of breaking news, you can be the first one to say that.”
You’ve been to the pits of despair and back, how does one pick ones self up and get inspired and motivated after such an identity crisis?
“I think I’m not afraid to be me. Sometimes [it] happens when you get to this point in your career, and there are so many things that have happened and influences that you’ve had, besides the influences of the things that have inspired you. Sometimes you feel awkward being what you’re best at, you feel like you have to be something new. But I think that a lot of people will agree that me being me at my best [is what] I need to be. I think that that really paid off because I’m back with Evan, that’s kind of breaking news, you can be the first one to say that.”
What else is new?
“We’ve just been released from our record contract with Interscope so I think a lot of the creative control on which my hands were tied on a lot of choices – the music videos – things like that. And the first example is the newest video, they clearly wouldn’t have allowed me to make that video. So we started writing new songs on the road – a bit like [David Bowie’s album] ‘Aladdin Sane’ – I think people can expect a new record a lot sooner than we [expected].
You don’t strike me as someone who wouldn’t put their foot down with a label…
“You’d be surprised how much restraint my creativity had which ended up often times in my life, not want to make music because I was so restrained from the music that I wanted to make – what they would allow, they would put out, what ideas they would allow to be conveyed in these videos. At least half of my creative output has been squashed, so now I think people can expect a whole lot more.”
Will the new material be a more honest look at Marilyn Manson then?
“Yeah, I think it will be more badass , I think it’s going to be more romantic maybe. Self abusive.”
OY! Well … I guess true love will always win out in the end. I suppose congrats are in order for the happy couple … and now that MM is back with the love of his life AND is freed from the confines of his record contract with Interscope, he can get back to making great music … right? Well, I think it’d be wise if we DON’T hold our collective breaths waiting for that to happen. But at least we can be happy that Marilyn Manson and Evan Rachel Wood are together again … that’s good news, don’tchathink?

seriously she is just absolutely beautiful and he is creepy as hell. i guess it is just marilyn manson that is creepy… who know what he’s like in his real life not just his stage character. idk… i don’t get it.

He has a stage persona.
It’s like..old school Ozzy Osbourne, (granted he was rather alcoholic/drug dependent, etc.) he’s actually a pretty chill guy I guess, compared to that persona.
Shock=Teens/Young adults, and whoever, wanting to buy in to seem shocking themselves, meaning= $. Plus, it’s fun to act out, play a character.
Thus, for all we know he could be a total sweetheart in real life…

If “good news” means being with a post 40 year old man who refuses to grow up, makes threats of domestic violence and talks in interviews about his serious fantasies of how he wants to kill ERW? …. and then there was that “Heart Shaped Glasses” thing. I’m sure her parent’s are just overjoyed :-)
It’s a shame this relationship & her obvious neediness have overshadowed, what could have been a far more stellar career at this point.

He is so fake. I used to like his music, I guess I was young and naive and depressed, he appeals to young people who have low self esteem. That’s it. He has some creative ideas but he is not a good person. He is kind of a jerk, just read his bio. I feel bad for any woman who gets involved with him. Do you really think she’ll be happy? He is a drug addict and a serial cheater. Every woman he is with, he cheats on and puts off with his drug abuse and his music sucks now. I could forget all that as long as he put out good music but its all the same trash. He should just stick to painting and work on that movie he was supposed to be making like 10 years ago. he is such a flake and a failure in many ways as a human being.

Joanne, I was thinking the exact same thing because I remember those interviews. There’s something wrong with Evan if she mistakes those murder fantasies as a sign that he loves her so much he can’t live without her. Kind of reminds me a bit of the “Twilight” plots, lol.

Wow… he really got some people to believe in his “character” that he uses for reactions… I didn’t like any of his new music either… I hope he WAS being held back by his record company, so he can make better music again.. I don’t care anymore about what woman he’s with. At least he doesn’t try to hide that he’s a dick. It’s there for anyone to see/read about… And I don’t see anything wrong with him making a video of a pseudo-murder. I see that as his sense of humor. I could do the same thing, even if I had absolutely no intention of killing my ex. It would be funny to me. It’s all about perception…. If someone is too shallow and without a sarcastic sense of humor, I wouldn’t expect them to understand it.

Only I don’t think it is a “character”. Manson & his defender’s say it’s just a character … as if he really spends his days at home drinking tea and playing scrabble.
If feel most of the time these “characters” are actually more reminiscent of the real personality. It’s like the creepy clown who works with children … we tell ourselves it’s just a costume, but there’s something instinctual that tells us NO, this person is actually really creepy.

I think it was pretty obvious Rachel was never more than Shane’s beard. A young, pretty, vaguely incestuous beard (from Once & Again), but a beard nonetheless.
