Lindsay Lohan To Launch Her Own Clothing Line
'6126' to offer more than just leggings

Lindsay Lohan teased on Twitter that her leggings line 6126 would be expanded into a full fashion collection and Women’s Wear Daily confirms the plan. Here are a few sketches that show the look that L. Lo‘s fashion collection will have and some deets about plans for the expansion:

Lindsay Lohan is growing her apparel universe. The starlet is set to expand her leggings label, 6126, to a full-fledged contemporary apparel line for fall 2010, with more lifestyle brand extensions planned for 2011. This will be in addition to her role as artistic adviser at Ungaro, a job that has drawn significant attention and controversy to the French brand. Through her Twitter account, Lohan broke the news on Tuesday, posting: “i need MORE followers i am so sad about this, how can i tell everyone about my 6126 full collection COMING OUT! all clothing.” Earlier, Kristi Kaylor, principal in 6126 LLC in Beverly Hills, and Henri Levy, chief executive officer of Los Angeles’ DNAM Apparel, which will manufacture the line under license, spoke exclusively to WWD about the expansion. “We’ve had amazing success with the leggings line,” said Kaylor. “We have a great business with Neiman Marcus and several hundred great specialty stores. [DNAM Apparel] was the perfect partner to work with 6126 and grow it as a lifestyle brand. We’re launching the full clothing collection next year, and a cosmetics line, handbags, shoes, jewelry in spring 2011.” Levy, whose company has produced clothing for Ed Hardy and Joe’s Jeans, said he was looking for “a feminine brand” for his stable. The fall 2010 apparel line will comprise 100 pieces (spring 2011 will be 150) wholesaling from $18 for basic leggings to $300 for a leather jacket. Average retail price points will fall between $100 and $150. The 6126 leggings currently retail from $68 to $120. “It’ll be a young contemporary price point with contemporary styling,” said Kaylor, citing the still-weak economy. “We’re conscious of it in the sense that we have great price points and quality products. The vision is to offer customers something that they don’t have in the marketplace today, items that go back with leggings: blazers, dresses and tops.” Fabrics will include the same Modal and lace used in the leggings, plus cashmere and leather. The line will retail where the leggings currently sell: Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale’s, Macy’s, Nordstrom and specialty stores nationwide, plus Harrods, Lane Crawford, Kitson Japan and Isetan internationally … Kaylor stressed Lohan has been a hands-on partner, working with designers in her apartment earlier this month and throwing a working lunch for the design team at E. Baldi restaurant in Beverly Hills. “She’s not a celebrity who lends her name to a brand,” said Kaylor. “She’s intimately involved from Day One. She picks fabrics. She looks at trims. She picks buttons. She doesn’t let anything go into production without trying it on.”

Oh my. I uh … yeah. If these sketches are any indication of what’s to come from 6126 then I think Lindsay is in big trouble. These sketches look terrible and none of them look fashion forward at all. If the plan is for 6126 to essentially be the “feminine” version of Ed Hardy then there is no hope for success … at all. I may have given her some good-natured ribbing concerning her leggings line but, to be honest, it seemed like a venture that she could handle and enjoy some success. I honestly think that expanding the brand into a full fashion line will be the ruin of 6126. Blah, it’s just a bad idea. What do y’all think? Would YOU want to wear fashions by Lindsay Lohan?

i dunno…i dont hate the sketches…i kinda like the bottom left one.
would i wear it? probably not cause i doubt anywhere around me will sell it.

  2. Lisa. says:

    This can’t be a disaster…

  3. Meg says:

I hope these are geared for a more adult audience because if I see a little girl running around DC in something like that in a year or two, I’m going to have to smack their parents.

  4. Kendra says:

I actually think the top right sketch could be a really pretty dress if done the right way..Nothing new at all, but cute..I don’t know why Lindsey thinks she’s some fashion goddess all of a sudden..She’s a mess most of the time!

  5. Nate says:

Hot! Oh an this line have been going strong for two years now I don’t see it slowing down anytime soon. Lindsay is a Success.

  6. Lisa says:

OH. Lohan went to India to visit the factories producing her clothing…she wasn’t saving the children.
    This makes more sense.

  7. aimie says:

am i the only one who thinks nate is lindsay. this woman dresses like a mess. she always looks skanky and like a strung out whore… who in their right mind would WANT to wear something she designed. ewwww.

  8. Denise says:

Lindsay needs to clean up her act and stick to acting.

  9. Kyleigh says:

As a big girl, I highly doubt I fall into Lindsay Lohan’s target market. Not a fan of those sketches, those clothes will only suit a certain body type.

  10. PixiesBassline says:

The dress in the top right is cute… but I think I will always hate leggings. They are just TOO “80′s” for me….

  11. krissy says:

I think the sketches look fine, but they are ideas that have already been done by other people in a better way. (Notice how all of the ensembles have the waist at the same place and the length. They are all the same sillouette). I think the prices sound too high for the quality that she will be putting out. If she was doing knock off ideas at a knock off price, I could see it working out better.

  12. free says:

they look like clothes for streetwalkers, sorry. nothing new or creative here.

  13. Jstar says:

None of these look original…feel like we have seen this before…

  14. rossy says:

She can’t do any worse than the so-called “real” designers out there… and there are SO MANY!
    -
I watch shows featuring the newest designs & laugh my head off at the… well, words are hard to find when trying to figure out what some of the robots, sorry, models are wearing. I find myself hoping that a model will trip, fall on her ass, etc. & CRY so I can say: “Huh, she’s real. She’s human – like me.” – Instead, I watch these… “things” moving down runways expressionless & walking like they’re constipated. At least the VS models smile, wave & throw kisses to the TV cameras – backstage dancing to whatever songs are featured.

GOD! I will NEVER understand the concept of so-called fashion. Clothes that sell for a fortune, worn once or twice (if at all) & are then (what?) thrown away or left in a storage unit somewhere with all the others.
    -
When I watch one of my all time favorite “old” shows, “I Love Lucy”, I’m not only laughing but admiring the clothes Lucy wore. Classy, elegant fashion – In all it’s simplicity. ANYONE can wear those… What does that say about the junk passing itself off as fashion today.

  15. pws says:

i don’t understand why her leggings cost an average of $100? who the heck is paying that kind of money for what is essentially thick opaque tights?

and WHY is anyone giving her a chance to launch a fashion line when she decimated the ungaro collection earlier this year? i will never understand why these people make the decisions they do…god knows they can’t be making enough off the buzz to recoup the inevitable losses when they actually put her stuff out for sale.

  16. Lana says:

it’s cute but it should cost less then what they are thinking of charging. She is an actress, not a fashion designer.

  17. Kelly says:

Nothing can be “fashion forward” anymore…. it’s all been done … unless you want to walk around like Gaga. The best you can do is bring back stylish pieces from the past. No acid wash, ripped jeans or fringed bedazzled jean jackets please.

  18. Marki says:

Crotchless knickers and a tiny pockets to hide her gak

  19. Shellslove says:

I’m sorry but I’m just gonna say this – I root for this girl. Linds is one of those that is hard to watch w/o cringing sometimes (by which I mean always) and it makes me feel bad. I’m not going to lie – she mystifies me (if not only b/c I want to do a case study on celebrity + drugs + std + rehabx3 = successful clothing line) I think it would work if instead of trying to go all ‘high fashion’ she would’ve done a ‘duff stuff’ or mary kate + ashley type line while she was still repin’ under the guise of ‘wholesome’ kid. MK + Ashley’s ‘adult’ fashion line works b/c they have the past success, buckage and PR to back it up (we’ve seen them in rehab sure but not usually on table tops. And let’s face it, they tend to dress like very pricy garbage ladies.) A clothing line for Lilo is so low on the list of things I think could ever be successful, I just have to cheer for the poor dear! (+ I still think she has good hair)
