Altho David’s return home from back East signaled the end of my Week of Sloth, yesterday was a pretty slothy day for the both of us. We ended up staying in for most of the day … he ventured out to hit the gym, I stayed on the couch watching Xanadu:
I’m telling you … no matter how many times I see this film, I can never get enough. The cheese factor is just too awesome to deny. I love this movie :)
But, yeah, that was pretty much the highlight of my day. Tonight, David and I are going to see The Wizard of Oz at the ArcLight Cinemadome which should be fun. I’ve never seen The Wizard of Oz on the big screen and this is the 70th anniversary digitally remastered version so … it should be rad.
I watched it the other night on TV and completely forgot that Gene Kelly was in it. I loved loved loved this movie when it came out.
I was a HUGE ONJ fan. I sang I Honestly Love You into my hairbrush many times in front of my full length mirror on the back of my bedroom door.
And I had all the ’80′s workout garb, headband and leotard complete with legwarmers as I did my Hour Powersize at Elaine Powers Ladies Fitness.
Woot!
I LOVE this movie too! I watched it endlessly as a kid and even took up roller skating so I could be more like Kira. There were many a day spent roller skating in the garage, practicing my twirls…
One of my favorite parts is when Kira and Malone (can’t think of his first name??) take Gene Kelly to the franchise glitz dealer. Too much!

I have the soundtrack on my Ipod–seriously. ONJ was my first girl crush.
Trent–I saw TWOO on the big screen a few years ago–none of my friends wanted to go since everyone’s seen it. I went with my gf and it was amazing–the details that you don’t see when watching it on a tv. I’m excited that it’s been remastered. I can’t wait to see what you think.
I know someone who rented Imax to surprise his boyfriend with a Xanadu showing. Xanadu is a Xanadont, but we had fun anyway
