HBO has released a new video trailer that pays homage to their 2009 programming and teases their offerings for 2010 … including glimpses of their hit show True Blood! Here are a few screen caps from this new trailer that features everyone’s fave vamps and fangbangers along with some deets about the trailer itself:

HBO has just released its annual yearender that teases also what’s coming in 2010. “2009 was a big year for HBO, but 2010 will be just as big,” the cable said in the promo. Among the returning shows that get the first look is “True Blood” and among the new shows is miniseries “The Pacific”. Unfortunately, the promo that utilizes the song “This Could Be the Year” by Ryan Star, only displays a few second of Bill-Sookie moment as well as a brief glimpse of Sam and Jessica with her fangs out. It is doubtful that any of the scene is new since production has just been kicked off this month and it’s unlikely that the footage come out of it. The contrary happens to “Pacific” that gets a new footage of wedding and war scenes. “True Blood”, entering its third year, will be premiered in June while “The Pacific” that has ten episodes will be premiered on March 14. Other shows which are expected to come back during the summer are “Eastbound & Down”, “Entourage”, “Bored to Death” and “Hung”. Meanwhile, the TV films that follow the success of “Grey Gardens” are “Temple Grandin”, “The Special Relationship” and “You Don’t Know Jack”. New series that will be introduced next year are drama “Treme”, comedy “How to Make It in America”, and another drama “Broadwalk Empire”. HBO is the network that gets the biggest number of nominations at 2010 Golden Globe Awards. Pocketing 17 nods in total, HBO has the chance to win through Anna Paquin, “Taking Chance” and Bill Paxton among others.
Now, because Showtime has Dexter, they have my heart … BUT HBO does bring the heat and I am a faithful watcher of that network as well. I’m not fully on board with the True Blood Love Train but I do enjoy the show and am looking forward to seeing what will come next in the new season next year. After the jump, check out this video trailer in full and see what’s in-store from Home Box Office in 2010 …
Looks like a bunch of great stuff to come from HBO. I’m very interested in the Obama Inauguration documentary as well as new eps of Hung (which is set in my beloved Detroit, MI). My guess is that we’ll be getting more teasers from True Blood season 3 in the months to come but in the meantime we’ll have to settle for these quick glimpses.

All the clips are from season 2 of True Blood! :(
Season 2 of True Blood sucked! Trent, you really need to read the books even though there’s like, 12 or something. I’ve read the whole series and I think you would enjoy them. Do it! Anyways, yeah, I don’t know. I kind of liked Hung but then I stopped watching it…hmm.
Boardwalk Empire looks hella promising. Can’t wait.
And CHASE, obviously we were watching two different things because season 2 of “True Blood” was spectacular.
OMG WOW! SO SOON TOO!
So looking forward – BIG True Blood fan here.
Do you watch Hung Trent? It’s one of the funniest shows i’ve watched in years. Its awesome. I recommend both to everyone, but i’m sure a lot of people have checked out True Blood to some degree. But HUNG – its seriously the under-dog in comedy at the moment, i was disappointed to not see Golden Globe nominations for it.
@J
I hear you. I LOVE “Hung”. It truly is the under dog. Both these shows can’t return faster enough for me. I agree with you Trent….I’m so a faithful watcher of the network.
:( I was so looking forward to teaser clips for season 3- but that was indeed all from season 2. Bummer.
I just watched Bored to Death on demand this week, and that show is just soo much fun! I love all the characters! Jason Schwartzman, Zach Galifianakis, and Ted Danson work so well together. It takes a couple of episodes to get into but you will get hooked! I highly recommend it people!
I stopped watching True Blood half way into this season, I found it got too… cheesy…
But I agree with you Trent, about Showtime and Dexter! Can’t wait for next season.
Yay, more of the fairy-ness of Sookie.

any news on when Season 2 will be released on DVD? We don’t get HBO :(
no there were glimpses of season 3 later in the trailer.. im quite certain those were new shots.
@Kristina – I don’t think so. Have you read the books? I know there’s a difference between the books and the show itself but the show got completely out of hand. I mean, Bill and Sookie were all mushy mushy romance crap and even though they’re in love, it just seems forced. Too many orgies. The maenad was drug out and she was annoying. They focused sun worshipers excessively and I just wasn’t impressed.
hi trent! its nice to hear u love true blood!
im happy coz we have a new hottie to watch for!
he’s joe manganiello and he’ll play the werewolf alcide herveaux…

here’s a clip of his hotness… and he’s 6’5!
sookie stackhouse series so trumps that show. although i do like that they kept layfatte around (and made him interesting!) but i hate the fake background they created for rene in season 1 and think had they stayed true to the book it would have worked out all the same…. but yes trent, you regularly express how much you love to read and i think you get much more out the book series (although it will take you halfway througt the second book to really get into it) than the tv show. and they are all very quick reads and can be bought at target for less than $6 and if you have a sams membership for like $4!
I just watched it FULLY. And OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!!! THE PACIFIC!
Australia REPRESENT!
I have been waiting for that mini-series in FOREVER. Its budget is just as much as Avatar, for real! Filmed right here in the land down under. With Tom Hanks attached, I have been waiting for it for aaaaaages! It looks totally epic.

This is seriously the year of HBO. I’m kinda surprised that HBO picked up The Pacific and not a big network like ABC or CBS. But True Blood is only gonna get even greater ratings (good thing, but i did like it when hardly anyone knew of it). Hung can only get funnier. The Pacific is going to own next year’s Emmy Awards. New Entourage. HBO Takes the crown before 2010 even arrives.

Seriously people – go check out The Pacific trailer on YouTube! MIND BLOWING for TV.
Hey I was in HBO HUNG, and “JACK”(actually I’m in that screenshot that they took the Youtube link down for above). I heard HUNG will not be shot in Detroit this season(at all). I am in “JACK” so don’t climb up the pole and disconnect your stolen HBO connection just yet.
P.S. No Autographs!
