By many accounts, 2009 was not a great year and was a pretty miserable end to a fairly hellacious decade. I don’t know many people who aren’t happy to see 2009 end. So, it is appropriate that we give a hearty Peace the Spork Out to the year 2009:

But, as miserable as the year was for most, I have to say that it wasn’t so bad for me. Sure, the failing economy had an adverse effect on my life just like it did for so many others but when I look back on the last year, I can only focus on the positive things that occurred. David and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary by moving in together here in LA back in February. I made some fantastic new friends who I love and care for dearly. I was able to celebrate the love and union of a couple of amazing people who tied the knot this year. But, I think, most importantly … I was able to continue doing what I love to do … I was able to get another year of blogging under my belt. I want to send out lots of love and wishes for a Happy, Happy New Year to each and every one of you reading this today. We are on the brink of a whole new year, a whole new decade and that means a whole new opportunity for fresh starts. I am resolving to do more studying in the new year and am planning to reconnect with the beauty and holiness of Nature. I am really excited for 2010 …

… and I wish you all love, prosperity, health and happiness in 2010 and beyond!
Happy New Year, y’all!!

@brent, lol what an asshole, eff off!! anyways @Trent, good post. 2009 is bittersweet. I had a great year and I’m sad that it can’t be said for just about everyone else. Here’s to a new year!
Okay, sooo…according to Brent, people who read this blog think 2009 was awful because of the celebrity gossip? But the blog contains too much information about Trent, and we should *worry* about ourselves? Whatever point you are trying to make..it’s kinda not coming across very clear. Personally, I’m not into worrying anymore- if anything, 2009 has taught me to chill the hell out and be thankful for what I do have. And laugh, which is what Trent’s blog makes me do. Thank you, Trent, and Happy 2010 to you and David- xoxo
it has been a particularly saddening year but your blog was a bright spot :)
so happy for you and David!
Pink is the New Year! Much luv @ you Trent and have fun at the beach!
I don’t understand, why was 2009 SUCH a horrible year? I’m not American but I was under the impression you were all so ecstatic about this year because of Obama & change! It’s not like the global finicial crisis is going to stop at midnight december 31st 2009 & 2010 is going to be full of rainbows & fairy dust. Every year has disasters, it’s how the world works. I enjoyed 2009 immensely & I hope people will look back with happiness.
Honestly, stop all this whinging.
@brent. If you don’t like it, don’t read it. go find a way to improve the world already.
Trent – thanks for being a lovely place where I can take a break from the sad parts of my work (with homeless youth) and just laugh. I appreciate your contribution to the world and your humor!
Trent – I want to wish you and David all the best for 2010 and thanks for being so fabulous! Life wouldn’t be the same without my daily dose of PITNB
Trent I hope that in 2010 you have the absolute best year ever
Ur amazing and I wish u the best luck
<3 U
Happy New Year
If the economy has such an adverse effect on your life then you wouldn’t have been able to travel as much as you did. Youre complaining on a high level.
Happy New Year, Trent, and thanks for another year of great blogging!
Technically, of course, the decade hasn’t finished yet – 2011 is the start of the next decade (on account of there not being a year 0 – 1 BC was followed by 1 AD).
Happy New Year Trent. I love your site. I love hearing about your life, it makes me feel like you are a friend telling me about your day. If I just want to read about celebrity gossip I can go to any website for that. I come here for you. Keep up the good work. So are you planning on taking up bird watching? hiking? getting your own show on Animal Planet? just how DO you plan to reconnect with the holiness of nature?
Happy New Year, Trent! It was so nice to be able to meet you earlier this year.
Have a fantastic 2010!!!!
I think 2009 wasn’t the best for anyone… but I think everyone had a few positives from it, at least. But thank you Trent, for being one of the daily positives in my life :)
Happy New Year- may 2010 be better for us all!
Happy New Year, Trent! Thank you for bringing us so much happiness and humor through your writing every day. Best wishes to you and David for a happy and healthy new year. You’re the bestest!!!
Happy New Year!! 2010 Will be great trust me :)
Get the hell out of here, 2009!
