Early last month we saw photos from Day One and Day Two of Mariah Carey‘s music video shoot for her new single H.A.T.E.U. and today we get our first look at the finished product. Here are a few screencaps from her newly released music video:

She ain´t no beach whale!!! She looks great and the song is soooo beautiful. But the video indeed turned out a´ight…
I knew they were going to edit the bejesus out of the shots. Yay for smoke-y/fog/sunlight effects.

I don’t think most people realize the extent to which video can be edited and “photoshopped”. Most people see still photos and know they are completely worked over, but the same can be done with moving images. The shots are stretched vertically to slim and lengthen. I saw one piece of footage where they removed rolls of back fat from a moving person, and it was pretty amazing. Mariah is probably using a lot of those tricks in her video…but pop stars have been using these tricks for nearly a decade now. Videos are pure fantasy and not reality.

L.O.V.E. the song H.A.T.E. the video, I dont like videos that have nothing to do with the song visually.

She looks good for her age…. but seriously, Ive had enough of these videos of the divas just touching themselves and slow motion singing and their hair blowing in the wind. SO over it.

I’m so tired of people thinking the Nicole Riche’s of the world are the normal weight, she’s a tall woman, cut her some slack!
You people are ridiculous. She made a bad choice in doing the shoot in a swim suit, but she isnt the world fattest woman. She looks fine. I love this song, but i agree with someone above – I dont like when the video has NOTHING to do with the song.
It’s such a sad, but beautiful, song. Thumbs up on it for me. Video’s alright. But really, with Mariah, it’sa ll about the music!
