First Look: Mariah Carey, ‘H.A.T.E.U.’

Early last month we saw photos from Day One and Day Two of Mariah Carey‘s music video shoot for her new single H.A.T.E.U. and today we get our first look at the finished product. Here are a few screencaps from her newly released music video:


While Mimi may not have looked her best in some of the beach photos on the set of this video, she looks really fantastic in the video itself. After the jump, check it out in full …

    Mariah can do no wrong, but I have to say her videos as of late are boring as heck. She and Brett Ratner are getting lazy and complacent. Kick it up a notch, MC, and think “Heartbreaker.”

    She’s looks good– as long as she’s fit, I have no desire to see her ribs or 6-pack. The song is pretty boring & the video as well (after one listen/watch, that is, maybe the song will grow on me). I can’t sympathize with her tragic love song while she languishes fabulously in paradise. Something more relatable, like walking thru a winter town in a parka, looking in a cafe (where they used to look into each others eyes across the table), sitting in a swing in a park (where they used to see-saw together), etc.

    This song is all about laying down an emotion. The contrast between her upper, middle and lower range and the strength of the lyrics paints a perfect picture of where she is in breakup. If you live in California and your going through a rough time, the beach is the best place to reflect, or film a music video! Biggest complaint is Brett removed the second verse from the song.

    The comments about her weight are so disgusting. This woman is banging and it makes me physically ill to hear people saying she should lose 30 pounds. It’s the whole Tyra thing all over again.

    Song – pretty (first time I heard the slow version)
    Video – meh…she looks great and it has a couple nice moments, but overall kind of boring…like a really long shampoo or lotion add.
