Last year Madonna was the face of Louis Vuitton, next year she will be the face of Dolce & Gabbana and Italian Vanity Fair magazine is giving us our first look at the first photos from their Spring/Summer 2010 ad campaign featuring her Madgesty herself … behold:

Exclusive in this week’s Italian edition of Vanity Fair is the worldwide preview of Dolce & Gabbana’s new spring/summer 2010 campaign featuring pop icon Madonna. Click here to take a first look and read what designer Stefano Gabbana has to say about the shoot and the star. Madonna’s private life is seldom out of the papers but this new Dolce & Gabbana campaign is unlike anything you have seen before. Exit the paparazzo, these shots by Steven Klein reveal much more than a grainy stolen picture, they showcase an intimate, real aspect to the ultimate icon’s life. In keeping with Dolce & Gabbana’s Spring/Summer 2010 collection’s emphasis on Mediterranean heritage and classic Italian sensuality, the mood isn’t unlike a film from the days of Italian Neorealism. Madonna herself recalls the strong, raw sensuality of the iconic actress Anna Magnani – showcasing when soft sensuality meets bold authenticity. In the Vanity Fair Italy feature, Stefano Gabbana discusses the campaign and why Madonna was the perfect match: “She loved the collection,” he says, “…she is passionate and impressively knowledgeable about Italian cinema,” (Monica Vitti is her favourite actress and we see the resemblance).” When asked as to whether Madonna knows how to wash dishes, Stefano Gabbana replies “Certainly…she’s a very practical woman…” And does she actually eat spaghetti despite her most enviable figure? “Of course, says Stefano, and she can allow herself to with all the exercise she does!”
It’s a cute idea … Madonna draped in domesticity … but there doesn’t seem to be much oomph in these first photos. But still, considering how friendly Maddy is with Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana it was only a matter of time before she signed on to appear as their spokesmodel. After the jump, check out a couple more images from the S/S 2010 Dolce & Gabbana of Madonna “at home” …

Altho I’m not terribly wowed by these photos, I am curious to see what else this campaign has to offer. Might we see photos of Maddy mopping the floor? Cleaning the toilets? Taking out the trash? The mind boggles at the possibilities … I guess we’ll have to wait and see. What do y’all think of this campaign … do you like? Is this campaign preferable to the one she did for LV last year?

I really like it!
Love it. She looks great.
She looks her age, in a good way. Finally.
they Sophia Loren-ed her.
She looks beautiful.
I like the first two, but the last one is awful. Also, open mouth does not = model.
Ooo! I like it!
meh.
I have been pretty “meh” about anything Madonna recently. I am officially bored by her, but it really has been many years since she has done anything interesting. She works her tooshie off in concert, and I respect that, but her snobby attitude and lack of quality music has put me to sleep.
love it! very Italian :)
I liked the Spring/Summer LV campaign and this one looks good too.
She just appears so very, I dunno, *Italian* if that makes ANY sense at all. It’s certainly a good look for her. And in that one of her sitting at a table, she kinda looks like Blondie!
UM…is this Madonna? Are we sure? Hmpff.
No pudge, no bad weave, no stubby nubs for fingers, no boring half-ass entertainment when she dances. She’s beautiful.
Damn. The bitch keeps getting hotter!
hallelujah – finally some decent hair!!!
(it’s been awful forever, and this is adorable & suits her purr-fectly!)
I can’t STAND Madonna. But these are by FAR the best pics of her ive seen in a loooong time. She has those gross arms under cover.
i love these pics, but just gotta say…
“beyotch stole my face!” – l.lo
Love this ad campaign. Madonna looks like one hot italian housewife.
That woman has GOT to stop getting work done on her face! Those cheekbones/cheek implants are freaky!
Please let me know which issue of Vanity Fair these ads are in?
Thanx
