Blake Lively played host on Saturday Night Live last night and Rihanna served as musical guest and much to my surprise and extreme glee, the entire show provided ample entertainment fodder (which, to be honest, has been lacking in SNL eps lately). Last night’s episode of Saturday Night Live was full of funny comedy skits, due in large part to the hilarious real-life drama that is happening in the world right now. Both the White House party crashers and the Tiger Woods Cheating Scandal were lampooned (very well, I might add) and Gossip Girl got the Staten Island treatment (which reminded me a lot of Jersey Shore which I’m sure SNL would’ve made fun of if they had the time to pull it all together). Blake proved a good enough host but this time, all the credit for the laughs has to go to the SNL cast … and Rihanna (who I’ll get to in a bit). Blake held her own in all of her skits but she was more obvious about reading the cue cards than some of the other recent hosts … I found it a bit distracting. That said, she did a fine job and hung in there well with the rest of the cast. Rihanna served not only as musical guest but she also appeared in a very funny digital short with Andy Samberg.
