‘Alice In Wonderland’ Releases A New Batch Of Promo Photos

A new bunch of promo photos from Tim Burton‘s version of Alice In Wonderland have made themselves available on the Internets, which I now pass along to all y’all. Here is a fun pic of a tea party in Wonderland:

Walt Disney Pictures has just released some fresh images from Tim Burton’s upcoming adventure film “Alice in Wonderland”. Coming out from different sources, the new photos give a good look at some of the film’s characters. In the image that was found by Joblo, Alice, the Mad Hatter, Red Queen, White Queen along with some creatures from the fantasy world are all seen sitting down to tea. Then, some wallpapers released by Disney capture the White Rabbit, the March Hare, the Dormouse and the Cheshire Cat individually. Mia Wasikowska takes lead female role of Alice while senior actor Johnny Depp stars as the Mad Hatter. Anne Hathaway and Helena Bonham Carter also join the cast ensemble to portray the White Queen and the Red Queen respectively. Meanwhile, Michael Sheen, Paul Whitehouse, Barbara Windsor, and Stephen Fry will lend their voices for the film. Expected to come out in Disney Digital 3-D on March 5, 2010, “Alice in Wonderland” is said to be an epic 3-D fantasy adventure which gives a magical and imaginative twist on some of the most beloved stories of all time. The story follows 19-year-old Alice who returns to the whimsical world she first encountered as a young girl, reuniting with her childhood friends. This time, she embarks on a fantastical journey to find her true destiny and end the Red Queen’s reign of terror.

I was able to see the Alice in Wonderland trailer in 3D last weekend when I saw Avatar in IMAX 3D and I was BLOWN away! The trailer is fantastic in 3D … when the Cheshire Cat comes out of the screen into your face, it’s like right there in your face. So cool!! If you get the chance to see Avatar in 3D, get to the theater early to see the Alice trailer in 3D, too. But, I digress. After the jump, check out the other new promo pics that have been released from Alice in Wonderland

As well as other shows on their roster
HBO Teases The New Season Of ‘True Blood’

HBO has released a new video trailer that pays homage to their 2009 programming and teases their offerings for 2010 … including glimpses of their hit show True Blood! Here are a few screen caps from this new trailer that features everyone’s fave vamps and fangbangers along with some deets about the trailer itself:

HBO has just released its annual yearender that teases also what’s coming in 2010. “2009 was a big year for HBO, but 2010 will be just as big,” the cable said in the promo. Among the returning shows that get the first look is “True Blood” and among the new shows is miniseries “The Pacific”. Unfortunately, the promo that utilizes the song “This Could Be the Year” by Ryan Star, only displays a few second of Bill-Sookie moment as well as a brief glimpse of Sam and Jessica with her fangs out. It is doubtful that any of the scene is new since production has just been kicked off this month and it’s unlikely that the footage come out of it. The contrary happens to “Pacific” that gets a new footage of wedding and war scenes. “True Blood”, entering its third year, will be premiered in June while “The Pacific” that has ten episodes will be premiered on March 14. Other shows which are expected to come back during the summer are “Eastbound & Down”, “Entourage”, “Bored to Death” and “Hung”. Meanwhile, the TV films that follow the success of “Grey Gardens” are “Temple Grandin”, “The Special Relationship” and “You Don’t Know Jack”. New series that will be introduced next year are drama “Treme”, comedy “How to Make It in America”, and another drama “Broadwalk Empire”. HBO is the network that gets the biggest number of nominations at 2010 Golden Globe Awards. Pocketing 17 nods in total, HBO has the chance to win through Anna Paquin, “Taking Chance” and Bill Paxton among others.

Now, because Showtime has Dexter, they have my heart … BUT HBO does bring the heat and I am a faithful watcher of that network as well. I’m not fully on board with the True Blood Love Train but I do enjoy the show and am looking forward to seeing what will come next in the new season next year. After the jump, check out this video trailer in full and see what’s in-store from Home Box Office in 2010 …

’Twas The Night Before Xmas

Yesterday was a pretty fantastic day, what being Xmas Eve and all, mainly because I was able to enjoy it with some of my amazing friends :) My good friend Darion and I met up for brunch at Hugo’s before he had to jet off to be with his family up North. We were both dressed in a festive manner and had a fun gift exchange together:

Last night I met up with David, another of my fave peeps ever, so that we could meet up with my dear Adriana and her friends for an Xmas Eve dinner at Buca di Beppo:

It was Adrianna’s idea to gather together the Xmas orphans for dinner and we had an absolute blast! It was a really special, really fun night.

This afternoon, the bunch of us are meeting up again to see Sherlock Holmes … it shall be fun. I sincerely hope all y’all are having a fantastic day, whatever it is that you are doing :) XOXOXO

Kylie Minogue Spends Xmas With Andrés Velencoso In Spain

Kylie Minogue is apparently spending this Xmas with her beau Andrés Velencoso as the pair were spotted making their arrival in Barcelona, Spain just ahead of the holidays. I would appear that Kylie and Andrés will be enjoying Xmas with his family there … which seems say quite a lot about the status of their growing relationship, don’t you think?

It’s a dilemma many couples face at Christmas – how to juggle both sets of parents during the festive season. The task is particularly hard for pop princess Kylie Minogue, whose parents live in her native Australia while her Spanish boyfriend Andres Velencoso’s family is based in the Costa Brava. The jet-setting couple reached a compromise this Christmas – spending a week in Sydney with the 41-year-old singer’s family before flying into Spain on Christmas Eve to spend the special day with Velencoso’s father and sisters. Minogue, looking effortlessly chic in jeans, tan boots and a grey scarf, was spotted arriving in Barcelona yesterday with her boyfriend of nearly 12 months. The pint-sized popstar’s 31-year-old model boyfriend acted like the true gentleman, taking car of his girlfriend’s luggage. The pair was expected to travel to the small town of Tossa de Mar in the Costa Brava, where Velencoso’s family lives. It won’t be the first time Minogue has met the family – she won them over in June when she pulled a shift in the bar they own in Tossa de Mar. The latest holiday will do nothing to dispel wedding rumours for the loved-up couple, who have have spent 2009 taking numerous romantic holidays. They spent the past week in Melbourne, where they enjoyed quality time with Kylie’s sister Dannii and her boyfriend Kris Smith. The keen golfers joined Smith for a day on the fairway at an exclusive Melbourne golf course and also attended the 90th birthday of the sisters’ grandmother.

It’s lovely that Kylie got to spend some time with her own family down in Oz in the days leading up to Xmas but it’s also lovely that she is spending the actual holiday with the Velencoso family. I would love nothing more than for Kylie to get hitched to Andrés (they make such a beautiful couple, after all) but methinks they will take things as they come and settle down only when they are good and ready. In the meantime, we’ll speculate and watch from afar. I just love them together, tho. Here’s hoping they enjoy a most Feliz Navidad together this year :)

Celebs Give Back This Xmas Season

Last month a bunch of amazing celebs made their way out to the Los Angeles Mission to devote their time and energy to help feed the less privileged people in the area for Thanksgiving. Yesterday, more celebs (including some of the same folks who came out last month) showed up at the LA Mission to help distribute Xmas dinner … here are a few photos:

I just give it up for my girl Kate Linder, who stars as Esther Valentine on The Young and the Restless (and has for the past few decades), who is ALWAYS there at the LA Mission come holiday time to give so generously of her time and energy. In fact, all my love, respect and admiration goes out to the folks who continually and unselfishly give of their time in this way. There are many folks out there who are enjoying a merrier Xmas then they might’ve if not for the generosity of the volunteers at the LA Mission. They do very important work all year long but I like to highlight their efforts around the holidays. If YOU would like to lend a hand by pledging a donation to the Los Angeles Mission you can do so HERE.

The late actress laid to rest at twilight on Xmas Eve
A Final Farewell To Brittany Murphy

Brittany Murphy, who passed away very suddenly last weekend in her SoCal home, was laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memorial Park here in Los Angeles last night in a twilight ceremony attended by family and close friends. The young actress was remembered as a “bright light” that touched all who knew her … a light that was taken from the world far too soon:

Brittany Murphy’s husband described how he had lost his ‘best friend and soul mate’ as the actress was laid to rest in a Christmas Eve service. Friends and family gathered at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park – the cemetery where Michael Jackson was buried – and said words could not express their devastation at the 32-year-old’s passing. Her family said in a statement ‘Brittany was an incredibly loving and passionate person and an artist to her core – she loved acting, singing, dancing, and performing.’ ‘A bright light that lit the world is forever dimmed, but will live on in the hearts of those that Brittany touched.’ The 8 Mile actress’s husband, British film director Simon Monjack, spoke about their relationship at the intimate gathering and said he had lost his best friend. Longtime family friend Alex Ben Block, who read the eulogy, said the service was ‘very nice, very respectful.’ Her close friends and her cousin also recalled their favourite memories of her. The afternoon service was presided over by a Christian minister and a rabbi presided, andguests sang ‘Amazing Grace’ at the grave site. Block said Murphy loved Christmas and that it was ironic that she was buried on Christmas Eve. Mr Block was one of the pall-bearers alongside ’24′ actor Eric Balfour. The Clueless star died on Sunday morning after collapsing at her Los Angeles home and suffering a cardiac arrest. Her father Angelo Bertolotti was not invited to her funeral, RadarOnline.com reported. Bertolotti had been estranged from Brittany and her mother for the past eight years. He told the website he was too sad to attend even if he had been invited. ‘I just don’t want to see that happen, I just want to remember her alive,’ he said. But he added he will go and visit her grave. ‘I’ll wait about a month to go out there,’ he said.

Brittany‘s sudden death is just too tragic for words. For her to pass away at such a young age, around the holidays … I cannot even imagine the pain that her family and loved ones are enduring right now. May she rest in eternal peace and may her family and friends heal quickly from this terrible loss.
