Over the weekend we saw photos of David Beckham and his sons — Brooklyn Joseph, Romeo James and Cruz David — making their way to the UK to meet up with wifey/mama Victoria Beckham for the holidays. The Beckham men made it to London safe and sound and the entire family stepped out last night to take in a show in the West End. Here are pics of the Beckham bunch as they made their way out of the Prince Edward Theater where they saw a performance of Jersey Boys:

LOL! No, there are no overly tanned folks traipsing about the stage in Jersey Boys … but there is a bunch of big hair. Jersey Boys tells the story of the 60′s singing group Frankie Vallie and The Four Seasons which is a distinctly American tale. See, even when Les Beckhams are away from the US they can’t leave it all behind entirely. Happy to see the family reunited again. Hopefully we’ll get to see more of their Xmas celebrations as the week carries on.

Back in 2007, former Marilyn Manson keyboardist Madonna Wayne Gacy (née Stephen Bier but also known as Pogo) brought suit against Marilyn Manson himself (née Brian Warner) for breach of contract, alleging that MM spent band money that should be shared among all members of Marilyn Manson on personal items (including Nazi paraphernalia, an engagement ring for Dita von Teese, a skeleton of a young child and other creepy things). The lawsuit was settled on December 11 but MM just decided to chime in on the matter on his official My Space blog early this morning. Here are some deets about the suit settlement and the full (colorful) blog posts from Marilyn Manson:

Stephen Bier, better known by the stage names Pogo and Madonna Wayne Gacy, brought his breach-of-contract suit in Los Angeles Superior Court in August 2007 against Manson, whose real name is Brian Warner. The law firm of Grodsky & Olecki also was among numerous other defendants named. Bier, who was seeking more than $20 million, alleged Manson used money from their former band partnership to buy items ranging from Nazi paraphernalia to a $150,000 engagement ring for ex-wife Dita Von Teese. Lawyers told Judge Michael L. Stern on Dec. 11 that a settlement was reached, but that some matters had to be completed before he could dismiss the case. The terms of the accord were not divulged. On Thursday, the settlement effort hit a snag when Grodsky & Olecki filed a lien for attorneys’ fees stemming from their successful effort to persuade Stern to dismiss all of Bier’s allegations against them in November 2007. Stern’s ruling was upheld by a panel of the 2nd District Court of Appeal on June 4. The firm now wants to be paid from the settlement money and their lien at least temporarily puts a hold on a complete resolution of the case. Stern scheduled a hearing for Jan. 15 on any further motions regarding the settlement. Grodsky & Olecki represented both Bier and Manson while they were involved in previous litigation involving a third party. The allegations against the firm involved Bier’s contention that it breached its duty to him with an alleged “threat letter” that was “a transparent attempt by Manson to frighten Bier into leaving the band,” according to the keyboardist’s court papers. But Stern agreed with the firm’s lawyers that the letter was written in contemplation that Bier might file a lawsuit and was therefore protected. Bier’s lawyer, Olaf J. Muller, said that despite the temporary setback due to the filing of the lien, Bier is for the most part happy with the resolution of the case.

On Saturday we saw photos of Britney Spears and her agent/beau Jason Trawick making their way thru JFK Airport in NYC on their way in to town. It is rumored that Britney spent the weekend in the Big Apple so that she would meet Jason‘s parents in Long Island, NY. Now, we don’t know for sure if that happened or not, but Britwick did spend a night out on the town over the weekend before she packed her bags and made her way back to JFK so that she could fly back home to LA:

Actually, we don’t even know for sure if Britney is flying back to SoCal at all. She may be making her way to Kentwood, LA to spend time with her family there. Whatever the case may be, I’m sure Britney will be joining up with her sons Sean Preston and Jayden James (who were left back home in the care of their father Kevin Federline). Britney has had a great 2009, I think, here’s hoping she will enjoy a very Merry Britmas as well!!

Hollywood was shocked by the news yesterday that 32 year old actress Brittany Murphy died of cardiac arrest but today we may know why she died so suddenly. The autopsy of the young actress may have just gotten underway earlier today but the LA coroner has already announced that he believes that Murphy died of natural causes. It is being reported that Brittany was ill in the days leading up to her death but until the toxicology results are in we won’t know for sure if that illness or any controlled substance played a part in her death:

Brittany Murphy’s family said the actress was ill with flulike symptoms in the days before her death and prescription medications were taken from her home, the Los Angeles coroner’s office said Monday. The 32-year-old star of films such as “Clueless” and “8 Mile” died Sunday morning after collapsing at her Hollywood Hills home. Paramedics tried to revive her, but she was pronounced dead at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter said they will conduct an autopsy Monday to try to determine what killed the actress, and said her death appeared to be from natural causes. He said the reported illness could have contributed to her death, but it will be weeks before a final determination is made. Toxicology tests will be performed, and officials will contact her personal physician to get a better sense of Murphy’s medical history, Winter said. Neighbor Clare Staples said she saw firefighters working to resuscitate the actress Sunday morning. She said Murphy was on a stretcher. Murphy’s husband, wearing pajama bottoms and no shoes, appeared “dazed” as firefighters tried to save her, Staples said. “It’s just tragic,” she added. Funeral arrangements have not been announced. “The sudden loss of our beloved Brittany is a terrible tragedy,” Murphy’s husband and family wrote in a statement. “She was our daughter, our wife, our love, and a shining star. We ask you to respect our privacy at this difficult time.”

There has been much speculation and conjecture surrounding the circumstances around Brittany‘s untimely death but until we know anything for certain, I think it’s wise and respectful to not jump to conclusions. If the coroner believes that she died of natural causes then there is no reason to believe otherwise … that is, until more concrete information is made available. I’m still pretty shocked that Brittany is gone … it is just a sad, tragic loss.

Last night, Sarah and I enjoyed a lovely dinner just the two of us so that we could spend some time talking before I fly back to LA today. My whirlwind trip is practically over so I’m glad I had the chance to hang out with Sarah one on one before I leave. We grabbed a bite to eat at Bahama Breeze and then went to see Avatar in IMAX 3D:

I’m sure you’ve heard many good things about Avatar so I’m really just joining the chorus here. The movie is really spectacular. In IMAX 3D, you are totally sucked into the world that James Cameron has created. Truth be told, I was more impressed with the 3D of Beowulf but this film really made the movie seem … real. The FX were flawless … FLAWLESS and the story, altho told many times before, is a very compelling one. It did take me about an hour to “get into” the film. The Na’vi people looked too much like Zoobilee Zoo to me while the animal life on Pandora looked like evolved Pokémon monsters. But you really do warm up to the FX and then BAM! get sucked in. By the end of the film, I was literally cheering out loud. The final battle scene reminded me a lot of the battle scene in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi (ie. Ewoks vs. Empire) which is prolly why I loved it so much. I am NOT a fan of Titanic, not by any stretch of the imagination but I’m a big fan of Avatar. James Cameron is a great storyteller, yes, but it’s the marriage of special effects and storytelling that really make this movie great. If you have the chance, see this movie in IMAX 3D — you won’t be sorry!

Hugh Jackman enjoyed a fun snow day with his children in NYC this weekend as they enjoyed a playdate with Cate Blanchett‘s sons Dashiell John, Roman Robert and Ignatius Martin. Hugh‘s kiddies Oscar Maximilian (pictured) and Ava Eliot got into an epic snowball fight with the Blanchett boys which looked so fun that Hugh had to get in on the action as well … behold:

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again … Hugh Jackman looks like an awesome dad. Not only does he like to have fun with his own children but he also likes to have fun with his children’s friends. This snowball fight look like so much fun, especially for Hugh. I’m thinkin’ the best years are yet to come for the Jackman children. With a loving father like this taking care of them, they appear to be the richest kids in the world.

On Saturday we saw photos of Guy Ritchie and his sons Rocco John and David Banda as they made their way thru London’s Heathrow Airport. Guy was in NYC last week for the premiere of his film Sherlock Holmes but he was also there to pick up his sons for the holidays. It now appears that Madonna will, too, be spending the holidays in the UK so that Guy can presumably spend time with Chifundo Mercy James as well. Here are pics of Maddy and Mercy as they made their arrival in London earlier today:

While it sucks for the kids that they have to share time with their parents, I’m glad to see that the parents here are working really hard to try and keep the family together, at least for the holidays, as best they can. I can’t see Madonna and Guy sitting across from one another on Xmas day in front of the roaring fireplace but I’m sure they’ll do their best to ensure their kids have the best Xmas possible.

Heidi Klum, Seal and Mariah Carey aren’t the only celebs in Aspen, CO this weekend to get a jump start on the holiday celebratin’ … Zac Efron and his perfectly coiffed ‘do has breezed into town as well. But whereas those folks are in town for a little R&R, Zac was in town to attend The World Snow Polo Championship … oh, and to hang out with some of his furry friends:

The boy looks good with dogs, don’t he? I don’t believe any of these cute pooches are his dogs but they seem to all be very close nonetheless. It’s really sweet how crotch sniffing can really bring two souls together in friendship. Looks like you got some new friends for life, Zac :)

Mariah Carey has made her way to Aspen, CO in order to celebrate the holidays in the resort town she loves so dearly. Mimi makes an annual trek to Aspen each December to celebrate Xmas there and this year is no different:

I presume that hubby Nick Cannon tagged along to Aspen as well but he was not seen out and about with Mariah on her first day in town. There are 3 things you can be certain of in live … death, taxes and Mariah Carey in Aspen for the holidays. Here’s hoping she has a merry one!
