'Up in the Air', 'Precious' & 'Basterds' lead the way in noms
The 2010 Screen Actors Guild Award Nominations Have Been Announced

On Tuesday the nominations for the 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards were announced and earlier today the noms for the 16th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards were announced in a televised ceremony for TBS. The films Up in the Air, Precious and Inglourious Basterds lead the way in nominations by securing 3 noms each. I’m happy to report that my FAVE TV show Dexter received 3 nominations as well (Actor in a Drama Series for Michael C. Hall, Drama Series Cast, Stunt Ensemble). But the best news of all is that the amazing Golden Girl Betty White will receive the SAG Lifetime Achievement Award:

“Up in the Air,” “Precious” and “Inglourious Basterds” led the Screen Actors Guild Awards with three nominations each Thursday, among them honors for George Clooney, Diane Kruger and Mo’Nique. The World War II rewrite “Inglourious Basterds” and the Harlem story “Precious: Based on the Novel ‘Push’ By Sapphire” are competing for the guild’s overall cast prize, along with the 1960s British drama “An Education,” the Iraq War tale “The Hurt Locker” and the musical “Nine.” The corporate-downsizing tale “Up in the Air” was shut out of that category but scored a lead-actor nomination for Clooney as a frequent-flyer whiz and two supporting-actress slots, for Vera Farmiga as his new love and Anna Kendrick as his new protege. Kruger picked up a supporting-actress honor as a German movie star and Allied spy in “Inglourious Basterds,” which also earned a supporting-actor slot for Christoph Waltz as an exuberantly ruthless Nazi. “Precious” earned a lead-actress honor for Gabourey Sidibe as an illiterate, abused teen determined to make a better life. Mo’Nique was nominated as supporting actress as the teen’s despicable mother. For best actor, Clooney is up against Jeff Bridges as a boozy country singer in “Crazy Heart,” Colin Firth as a grieving gay academic in “A Single Man,” Morgan Freeman as Nelson Mandela in “Invictus” and Jeremy Renner as a daredevil bomb technician in “The Hurt Locker.” Along with Sidibe, nominated for best actress are Sandra Bullock as foster mom for a future NFL star in “The Blind Side,” Helen Mirren as the wife of Leo Tolstoy in “The Last Station,” Carey Mulligan as a teen involved with an older man in “An Education,” and Meryl Streep as chef Julia Child in “Julie & Julia.” Penelope Cruz joined Farmiga, Kendrick, Kruger and Mo’Nique in the supporting-actress field, playing a filmmaker’s needy mistress in “Nine.” Besides Waltz, supporting-actor picks are Matt Damon as a South Africa rugby player in “Invictus,” Woody Harrelson as a military next-of-kin notifier in “The Messenger,” Christopher Plummer as aging author Tolstoy in “The Last Station” and Stanley Tucci as a serial killer in “The Lovely Bones.” The choices lined up much the same as Tuesday’s Golden Globe nominations. A few notable differences: SAG pick Renner missed out at the Globes, which favored Tobey Maguire for another war-on-terror tale, “Brothers”; Kruger helped announce Globe nominations but was not selected herself, Julianne Moore making the Globe supporting-actress cut for “A Single Man”; Emily Blunt, a dramatic-actress nominee at the Globes for “The Young Victoria,” was snubbed by SAG. Television nominees included familiar names, comedy-series actress Tina Fey and actor Alec Baldwin of “30 Rock,” which also had a nomination for overall cast. The show won all three SAG comedy categories last year. Baldwin has won the comedy-show actor prize the last three years, while Fey has won for actress the last two. Other TV comedies nominated for best cast are “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” “Glee,” “Modern Family” and “The Office.” Last year’s drama cast winner, “Mad Men,” is nominated again, along with “The Closer, “Dexter,” “The Good Wife” and “True Blood.” The SAG Awards will be handed out Jan. 23.

There is special importance to these SAG Award nominations … they tend to be a precursor to who will end up winning Academy Awards later in the Awards Season. 3 of the 4 actors/actresses who won SAG Awards last year went on to win Academy Awards that year as well. I also understand that the SAGs are voted on and awarded by SAG members (ie. the actors themselves) so the awards are highly coveted by the actors and actresses who are nominated. If I’m learning anything from these awards show nominations it’s that I need to see The Hurt Locker, The Blind Side and Up in the Air, like, now. As Elin lawyers up a new parody porn video hits the marketplace
Tiger Woods & Elin Nordegren Are Dunzo!

After all the crazy drama flooding the universe from the seemingly epic (and endless) tale known as the Tiger Woods Cheating Scandal, it is being reported today by RadarOnline that Elin Nordegren has gotten herself a divorce lawyer and plans to formally end her marriage to Tiger Woods. Could it be? Are Tiger and Elin really about to be dunzo?

Tiger Woods’ wife Elin has decided to file divorce papers, RadarOnline.com is reporting exclusively. Too many women and too many lies have pushed her over the edge. The financial terms of the split are going to take a while to work out, but as of right now Elin has made up her mind that she can no longer be married to Tiger, a source familiar with the situation told RadarOnline.com. “She’s not going to let Tiger talk his way out of this,” the source said. “There’s nothing he can say to erase years of betrayal.” At least 14 women have been sexually linked to Tiger since Rachel Uchitel was first revealed as Tiger’s mistress for the past five months. When Tiger’s affair with Uchitel became public it led to a bitter fight that ended with Tiger driving his car into a fire hydrant and tree. But things only got worse for the golfer as he was unmasked as a serial cheater in the aftermath of his bizarre crash. Elin has been spotted without her wedding ring in recent days and the source told RadarOnline.com that she considers the marriage over. Several reports have said she will fly to Sweden for the holidays and while that has not yet been confirmed it is clear that divorce papers will be filed sooner rather than later.

Claims of a definite divorce are also being reported by ABC News and People magazine:

A source close to Woods’ wife Elin Nordegren, told ABC News.com that a “divorce is 100 percent on.” “She’s not rushing to divorce, however,” said the source. “She’s going to take her sweet time. She wants all the dirty laundry to be out on the table before she signs anything.” People magazine has also reported that the couple now plans to split.

The matter of divorce between Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren isn’t necessarily as simple as her saying, I’m fed up, I’m leaving. Because there is a pre-nuptial agreement, she needs to gather all the information she can about his infidelitous behavior so that she can put together the best case for divorce. She’s got all the time in the world, she is in no hurry.

So … while we wait to hear more concrete information about this supposed divorce, we have a new movie to keep us entertained in regards to the Tiger Woods Cheating Scandal. Well, movie isn’t exactly the right word … porno is more apropos. After the jump, check out the FIRST porno parody film being made about this Tiger Woods Scandal — it’s okay, the photos are totally safe for work and are not explicit at all …

'US Weekly' claims that Reese Witherspoon "broke his heart"
Newly Single Jake Gyllenhaal Hits The Streets Of SoCal

We first heard that Jake Gyllenhaal and Reese Witherspoon split up about 2 weeks ago and then just received confirmation of the split just a few days ago but yesterday, Jakey poo was spotted rollin’ solo here in SoCal in the wake of all the GyllenSpoon break-up reports. According to US Weekly‘s coverstory this week, Jake is nursing a “broken heart” because, they claim, it was Reese who called things off … not him. That being said, Jake was snapped at Ammo in Hollywood, CA yesterday lookin’ (I’m told) totally happy and ravenously hungry:

After nearly three years together, Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal called it quits in early December. “It broke his heart,” an insider reveals in the new issue of Us Weekly. A source close to Gyllenhaal, 29, explains that the once-golden couple “fought constantly in the past few months,” and that the relationship concluded over a series of phone calls. Adds another source, “No one cheated. There was no drama.” After the pair met on the set of the film Rendition, their romance began in March 2007 — when Witherspoon, now 33, was still smarting from her 2006 divorce from husband of seven years Ryan Phillippe, 35, with whom she has two children (Ava, 10, and Deacon, 6). Indeed, sources say that her divorce and her kids were the two driving factors in the split. “She felt pressured to wed again but she wasn’t ready,” an insider says. “She couldn’t give Jake enough and she got cold feet. Jake wanted all of her. Although Gyllenhaal moved into her $5 million home in June 2008, Witherspoon struggled to quell her doubts about his suitability as a stepfather and long-term partner. “She really worried that they didn’t have enough in common,” the pal says. As a hands-on Mom, the “super-type A” actress also fretted over losing time with her kids to her boyfriend. “When she was giving all of her energy to Jake, she felt like she wasn’t giving her kids enough,” the source says. Not that Gyllenhaal didn’t try with Ava and Deacon, the insider points out: “He was great with the kids, but she felt like he didn’t get the whole scope of what that entailed.”

Of course, as with all of these sort of reports from “sources”, these details should be taken as merely conjecture (at best) or fabrication (at worst). Whatever the case may be, it would appear that we can finally be assured that GyllenSpoon have really called it quits and are each now single folks back on the market. I don’t believe that either of them will have much difficulty pairing up with new partners when they are ready to do so. Broken heart or not, I’m glad to hear that Jake has been lookin’ fine despite the split … mebbe it really was all for the best.
