Watch: Britney Spears, ‘3 (Director’s Cut)’

The director’s cut version of Britney Spears‘s latest music video 3 has just made its way to the Internets and, people, it’s awesome! This version of the video is far superior to the first video that was released a few weeks ago. As you can see, there was an extra scene filmed for the video that wasn’t included in the original music video and this version has a lot more dancing on Britney‘s part. Here are a few screencaps:

This new version of the video is HOT! I have no idea why this version was not released in the first place. After the jump, check it out for yourselves — you will love it …

Courteney Cox-Arquette Films New Scenes For ‘Cougar Town’

Woot!! Courtney Cox-Arguette and her co-star Christa Miller were spotted filming new scenes for Cougar Town here in LA yesterday … which is GREAT news for fans of the show. As you may recall, a couple of weeks ago the show halted production due to an unspecified “family matter” in the Cox-Arquette family but things seem to be resolved and production of the show is underway once again:

I love this show … and you can tell that Courteney is having a great time making this series. She is fantastic, the show is fantastic … these pics are fantastic!! I’m SO looking forward to Lisa Kudrow‘s appearance on the show … as good as the show already is, it’s bound to get better with time. I’m a very happy to see that things are back on track with the Cougar Town production schedule … I am dying for more eps!!

Nicole's mama tags along, too
Nicole Richie & Harlow Winter Go Xmas Shopping

There are only 10 more shopping days left until Xmas so Nicole Richie gathered up her daughter Harlow Winter and her mother Brenda to do a bit of shopping here in SoCal yesterday. Here are pics of the Richie women shopping up a storm last night:

Harlow is ADORABLE. I cannot believe she is so big already … she reminds me of my beautiful goddaughter Princess Zakiya so much. It wasn’t that long ago that Harlow was but a wee babe, swaddled in her parents loving arms. Now she’s a big girl enjoying shopping trips with her mother and grandmother … where does the time go? I’m sure Xmas will be extra special this year with the littlest addition to the fam, Sparrow James Midnight. I suspect he’ll be tagging along on these shopping excursions soon enough :)

City Council passes the law by a vote of 11-2
Washington DC Legalizes Same-Sex Marriage!

Happy news for marriage equality today!! The City Council of Washington DC, the capital of the United States of America, has voted 11-2 to legalize same-sex marriage in the District of Columbia. Barring intrusion by the US Congress (which is highly unlikely to happen), same-sex couples will be able to apply for marriage licenses as early as March 2010!

The Washington, D.C., City Council voted Tuesday to legalize gay marriage in the nation’s capital, handing supporters a victory after a string of recent defeats in Maine, New York and New Jersey. Mayor Adrian Fenty has promised to sign the bill, which passed 11-2, and gay couples could begin marrying as early as March. Congress, which has final say over Washington’s laws, could reject it, but Democratic leaders have suggested they are reluctant to do so. The bill had overwhelming support among council members and was expected to pass, though opponents have vowed to try to get Congress or voters to overturn it. David Catania, who introduced the bill and is one of two openly gay council members, called the bill a ”matter of social justice” before the vote. Two members voted ”I do” when their names came up, and when the vote finished a packed chamber erupted into cheers and clapping. The ”no” votes included former mayor Marion Barry, now a council member. If Congress does not reject the bill, the district will join Connecticut, Iowa, Massachusetts and Vermont in issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples. They will be able to wed in New Hampshire starting in January. Gay marriage supporters have had less success elsewhere recently. Maine voters overturned the state’s same-sex marriage law last month. Earlier this month, the New York state Senate rejected a bill that would have allowed gay couples to marry. And New Jersey’s legislature, which had been working on a same-sex marriage bill, postponed a recent vote when the measure appeared headed for defeat. Tuesday’s vote in the district came after several months of discussion, including two marathon council hearings at which some 250 witnesses testified. Opponents included the Archdiocese of Washington, which said it might have to stop providing adoptions and other services because the law would force it to extend benefits to same-sex couples. But most who testified in this overwhelmingly Democratic city were supporters. Some, teary-eyed, asked the council to let friends, relatives or themselves marry. One man proposed to his partner during his testimony. The law will likely take effect around St. Patrick’s Day in this city of 600,000, which is about 1/17th the size of Rhode Island. Congress has 30 working days to reject it, but that has happened just three times in the past 25 years and appears unlikely in this case.

This is an amazing, amazing day … and we are one step closer to enjoying full marriage equality here in the United States of America. Think about it … our nation’s capital city has come to realize that marriage equality is a right that should be enjoyed by its citizens … and one day, hopefully soon, the rest of the country will come to the same realization. Back in June, New Hampshire successfully legalized same-sex marriage and folks there will begin to marry next month. Yes, there have been set backs but we solider on, press forward and celebrate each new win. We will get there, I know it with every fiber of my being. Thank you Washington DC for joining those who are leading the way towards TRUE marriage equality for all :)

Going somewhere, Elin?
Elin Nordegren Emerges Sans Wedding Ring, With Kids

Elin Nordegren, the embattled wife of Tiger Woods, was spotted out in public for the first time since the Tiger Woods Cheating Scandal broke a couple of weeks ago. Interestingly and very telling, Elin was spotted out and about WITHOUT her wedding ring … HMMMM … might she be telling us something about the state of her commitment to her marriage to Tiger?

The absence of a wedding ring from a scorned wife’s finger usually signifies that she could be on the verge of filing for divorce. And if that was the message Elin Woods was sending her multi-millionaire love cheat husband, he’d better hope he’s got himself a good lawyer. For the first time since her golfer husband Tiger’s numerous affairs came to light, the 29-year-old was snapped near the couple’s Florida mansion minus her gold band and diamond engagement ring. As she stopped at a petrol station near Orlando to fill up her car, the Swedish mother-of-two had no qualms about flashing her bare left hand to the paparazzi. This couldn’t-care-less attitude has fuelled speculation that Elin could be about to dump Woods – who is almost worth $1billion – and file for what would turn out to be one of the most expensive divorces of all time. Some sources claim that she could be in line for as much as $300million (£180million) if she decides to leave him. While her 33-year-old husband remained holed up in their £1.7million mansion, the former swimwear model, accompanied by her mother Barbro Holmberg, left to take her two children, daughter Sam, two, and 10-month-old son Charlie, to a friend’s Christmas party. Reports this week have speculated that Elin is to return home to her native Sweden after she bought a £750,000 six-bedroom farmhouse on the country’s Faglaro Island – reachable only by boat – prompting rumours she could be about to seek solace in her motherland in the New Year.

She looks great … good for her for taking off her ring. Obvs her husband does not hold their marriage vows with any regard, why should she wear the symbol of those vows on her finger? I’m also glad to know that Elin is not letting the stress of everything keep her from enjoying time with her children. I think a birthday party with friends might be the best thing for them right now. After the jump, check out a couple photos of Elin with her kids Sam Alexis and Charlie Axel as they made their way to said birthday party and read a report from TMZ about moving trucks at the Woods manse

The TV Guide
Never Feed Them After Midnight

Last night David and I met up with our buds Rob and Caleb for a screening of Gremlins at the ArcLight Theater in Hollywood, CA. Gremlins has to be on of my fave childhood movies and it has been well over 20 years since I seen it last. I never did see it in the movie theater so last night was a big treat for me:

I had forgotten how much I love this movie. I had a Gizmo doll (from Montgomery Ward, mind you) that I used to sleep with … I loved that thing til it got ratty and dirty. I think my mom still has it. I’m telling you, they do NOT make movies like Gremlins anymore. Watching it as an adult was really funny … I remember being enamored and a bit scared of the movie as a kid but as an adult there is a lot to laugh at. It’s a great film. If it’s been a while since you’ve seen it, I recommend giving it another look … it’s a good time.

Tonight, the Turtle Party: Book Club meets after having to reschedule from last week. It’ll be great to see the turtlers again!!

Flash Forward for 'Dexter'? Alanis loves weed, Mayer not dating
"My first response was, 'Oh my God, what an ending!'" -- Lithgow
Michael C. Hall & John Lithgow Discuss The Season 4 Finale Of ‘Dexter’

Immediately after Showtime aired the SHOCKING season 4 finale of Dexter on Sunday night, they aired an 11-minute conversation between actors Michael C. Hall and John Lithgow wherein they discussed the finale ep and the parts of Dexter season 4 as a whole. Now, that conversation is available for viewing online. Here are a few screencaps from the chat … be warned, tho, Michael C. Hall is sporting a very disconcerting shaved head:

These two actors are absolutely amazing and, thankfully, they’ve each been nominated for Golden Globe Awards this year. After the jump, watch the full video of their conversation but first, another warning: DO NOT watch the clip if you have still not seen the season finale of Dexter and wish to remain unspoiled …

Amidst the fanfare, mixed reviews emerge
‘Sherlock Holmes’ Premieres In London

Last night the principal stars of Sherlock HolmesRobert Downey, Jr., Jude Law and Rachel McAdams — were joined by the film’s director, Guy Ritchie, for the world premiere of the film at Empire Leicester Square in London, England last night. While the stars glittered and gleamed on the red carpet, reviews of the film were slowly making themselves known … to mixed results. Here are a few photos from the red carpet arrivals last night and some deets about those mixed reviews:

“Sherlock Holmes,” the latest film incarnation of the quintessentially English detective, drew a mixed reaction from London critics on Tuesday who variously described it as a roaring success and a hack job. London hosted the world premiere late on Monday of director Guy Ritchie’s movie starring Robert Downey, Junior as Holmes and Jude Law as his sidekick Doctor Watson, though the excitement of the event was not quite matched by the newspaper reviews. The Times praised the performances of the two main leads, saying Downey was “terrific” and praising Ritchie for drawing “a career-best performance from Law” — but said their double act failed to carry “an overlong film”. The Guardian was more blunt, saying Downey played Holmes “with boggle-eyed hamminess… a cartoon with darting eyes rather than a brain” and Law was just “blank” in this “high-end hack work”. It accused Ritchie of being in a “muddle” over what he was trying to achieve, saying he airbrushed out Holmes’ drug use and failed in his attempt to update the lead characters’ relationship and that of Watson and his fiancee. Ritchie insisted he had a clear vision, telling a press conference on Monday he had been a fan of Arthur Conan Doyle’s fictional detective since childhood “so I had a really strong vision of who Sherlock Holmes should be”. Many reviewers loved the film, however, including The Sun’s showbusiness correspondent who described it as a “roaring success”. Downey was “an exceptional Sherlock, who’s a clinical bare-knuckle fighter, hell-raising drinker and charmer”, he wrote, adding that Law was surprisingly convincing as a hardman. The Daily Telegraph described it as “undeniably a rollicking romp, an all-action blockbuster” led by a youthful Holmes that resembles a young Keith Richards, the Rolling Stones guitarist. “The pace rarely slackens throughout, the set pieces are explosive, the score relentlessly thunderous. Victorian London is recreated — relying on copious use of computer effects — with an eye for the grimy reality,” it said. The film’s producer, Joel Silver, who also worked with Ritchie on his previous movie “RocknRolla”, told reporters on Monday that Holmes was a “man of action” and they wanted to have fun with the main characters. “We invested ourselves in trying to make a contemporary movie that feels fresh and original but still embraces what Conan Doyle did. And I hope we succeeded,” he said. The film is released in the United States on December 25.

My guess is that the most negative reviews will come from ardent fans of the literary version of Sherlock Holmes and no movie will ever be able to live up to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle‘s work … particularly if it was directed by Madonna‘s ex-husband. Look, books are one thing movies are another … never the twain shall meet. It is very rare that a movie can live up to the expectation of a good book but it does happen sometimes … but even then, the book will always be superior. The Sherlock Holmes character is rich for movie-making fun and I have every confidence that Robert Downey, Jr. will do a great job bringing the character to life. I’m not worried … even if it’s not the best movie of the year, I have no doubt that Sherlock Holmes will be very entertaining. I can’t wait to see it!

Oh and Jude, lose the dandy babushka around your neck, please!

Should Jason Trawick be worried?
Britney Spears Has A Brand New ‘Crush’

Britney Spears stepped out to run an errand here in SoCal yesterday afternoon but she was spotted in the close company of a new Crush … and her agent/beau Jason Trawick was nowhere in sight:

Yep, Britney went and picked herself a new bottle of Orange Crush soda pop!! Doesn’t she look great in these photos? I love the glasses and the hat … she actually looks a lot like her younger sister Jamie Lynn Spears in the second pic, no? It’s interesting to me that Britney ran out to buy a soda pop when we haven’t seen her go anywhere near a Starbucks in ages … HMMMM … might her coffee drink addiction be dunzo?
