After returning home from the UK just a few days ago (and doing a bit of shopping almost upon arrival), David Beckham rounded up his boys — Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz — to go bike riding along the Pacific Ocean in Venice, CA yesterday afternoon … here are a few pics:

If your father’s an international sports star, trying to snatch a moment of quality time together can probably be tricky. So it’s no wonder the Beckham boys looked over the moon to be hanging out with their dad David in the Californian sunshine yesterday. While mum Victoria was making her way back to London from a business trip to Paris, the three brothers made the most of a boys day out with their famous father. The boys – Brooklyn, ten, Romeo, seven and three-year-old Cruz – clad in shorts, t-shirts and tracksuits, went for a bike ride around Venice Beach and made sure their helmets were firmly in place. But while the Beckham’s clearly install a safety-first attitude in their household, it’s a shame David didn’t set a further example by wearing his helmet, preferring a grey beany hat instead. And with any youngster who is still a little unsteady as they get used to two wheels, Cruz managed to crash his bike on the path but shook it off as he stood up laughing. Although David is on loan to Italian football team AC Milan from Californian side LA Galaxy, the family still reside in Beverly Hills. The Beckhams will be jetting back to the UK next week to spend Christmas at their Hertfordshire mansion, and will be joined on Christmas Day by TV chef Gordon Ramsey, his wife Tana and their children. David is due to return to the Serie A club next month, so is no doubt getting in as much time and as many days out with his kids before he jets off to Italy.

As crazy bizzy as Becks is, he always does his best to share as much quality time with his sons as possible. These photos are amazingly cute … enjoy the Beckhams while you still can, SoCal … they’ll be gone all too soon.

Last week we saw photos of David Boreanaz (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Bones) and his beautiful newborn baby girl Bardo Vita making their way to Philadelphia, PA so that they could attend the live broadcast of David‘s father’s last day as the meteorologist for WPVI-TV. Over the weekend, the family returned home to SoCal … with little Bardot in tow:

So basically get get 2 Bardot Vita sightings in under a week … nice! I’m really happy to see the Boreanaz bunch lookin’ so well … tired from traveling, sure, but I’m sure happy as can be. I hope we get to see more Bardot in the days to come :)

Now that Ashlee Simpson has a semi-regular gig performing in Chicago on Broadway, she and hubby Pete Wentz have made themselves right at home in the Big Apple in the past few weeks. Here are a few really cute photos of Ashl33n out and about with their son Bronx Mowgli lookin’ like bonafide New York folk:

I think this move to NYC will be good for them. Ashlee can do her thang on Broadway, Pete can mind his club Angels and Kings and little Bronx can get a taste of arguable the greatest city in the world. If you follow Pete Wentz on Twitter, you know he refers to his son as “little dude” which is crazy cute … he and his family seem really happy these days. Now that that Melrose Place mess is a thing of the past, they can move forward away from SoCal and in the loving arms of the City that Never Sleeps.

USA Today is giving us our first look at the upcoming 100th episode of the CBS hit TV series How I Met Your Mother … and it just so happens that said 100th episode will be musical in nature. Ever since Buffy the Vampire Slayer turned the TV world on its ear with its own musical episode (the fantastic Once More With Feeling …), other shows have tried to jump on the musical episode bandwagon and create special eps of their own. Here is a promo photo released by CBS of the HIMYM musical ep and some deets about what will happen during that episode:

For its 100th episode Jan. 11 (8 ET/PT), the CBS comedy’s cast will perform a grand musical number featuring 65 dancers and a 50-person orchestra. “It almost felt like an old-school MGM musical to me. It was a lot of cast and crew grouping together to make it special,” says Neil Patrick Harris, who plays the womanizing Barney. Harris, joined by fellow cast members Josh Radnor, Jason Segel, Alyson Hannigan and Cobie Smulders, is at the center of the 2½-minute song-and-dance piece: Nothing Suits Me Like a Suit. USA TODAY has a first look at the extravaganza, which was filmed over two days on the Fox studio lot’s New York Street. HIMYM executive producers Carter Bays and Craig Thomas wrote the words and music, then called on the talents of composer John Swihart and choreographer Zach Woodlee (Glee). Bays and Thomas have featured musical elements, such as the Robin Sparkles ’80s teen pop numbers, in episodes of HIMYM, which has a new episode Monday at 8. “The way we viewed it was our 100th episode would end with something that felt like a party, like an on-air party for fans, and create a jubilant celebration moment at the end of the show,” Thomas says. “It feels like a crazy movie fantasyland.” Harris, who has hosted the Tonys and Emmys, is happy Thomas and Bays wrote the song. “I’m glad we didn’t source it out. It still has the same sense of humor and sort of odd, obscure comedic ring to it.” In the episode, “Girls vs. Suits,” the ever-business-suited Barney has the chance to date a hot bartender, but there’s a catch: She disdains men in suits. Thomas describes the ensuing musical extravaganza as “kind of a love song to The Suit, capital T, capital S.” The episode will also reveal more, Thomas says, about the “mother” — Ted’s (Radnor) eventual wife — in the show’s title. “It’s the closest we’ve seen Ted get to answering the question: ‘Who is the mother?’ ”

Interestingly enough, Alyson Hannigan will have appeared in both the BtVS musical ep and this new HIMYM musical ep and ironically, she hates to sing!! I have it on very good authority that fans of HIMYM and curious folks who tune in will be VERY entertained by the ep. Welp … it was inevitable, I suppose. Courtney Love has just lost primary custody of her only child Frances Bean Cobain. Not all of the details have been made available just yet (ie. why she was taken to court in the first place) but TMZ is reporting that C. Love has been determined incapable of caring for her daughter. The ruling judge has named Kurt Cobain‘s mother and sister as Frances‘s legal guardians effective immediately:

Courtney Love no longer has legal control of her daughter. TMZ has learned a legal guardian has been appointed to care for 17-year-old Frances Bean Cobain. Guardianships of this nature are frequently established when the parent is not capable of taking care of their children. The guardians appointed by the court are Wendy O’Connor, Kurt Cobain’s mom, and Kimberly Dawn Cobain, Kurt’s sister. The guardianship was established on Friday. Courtney Love was not in court. The guardianship is for both Frances Bean personally and her financial well-being. The guardians do not have power over the trust established after Kurt Cobain’s death. The guardianship was established after a fairly long period of unstable conduct by Courtney Love. The court proceedings, however, are sealed.

Last night I was invited by some friends to spend a night of dinner and magic at the famed Magic Castle in Hollywood, CA. The Magic Castle is a member’s only private club but if you are invited as a guest by a member, you can visit and enjoy everything it has to offer:

Hollywood is planning to remake another classic film but this time around, I’m actually on board with those plans. The original film Clash of the Titans (which starred Harry Hamlin and Laurence Olivier and is based on the Greek myth of Perseus) was released in 1981 … a time when movie making special effects were still in a primitive state (at least, compared to today’s standards). But even back then, Clash relied on FX techniques that were not up to par with really big budget movies of the time (ie. Star Wars). What I’m getting at is that the movie’s FX looked cheesy even back then. Warner Bros. is releasing a big budget remake of Clash of the Titans starring Sam Worthington as Perseus and from everything I’ve seen thus far, it looks effing fantastic. Directed by Louis Leterrier, the March 26 release stars Sam Worthington, Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes, Danny Huston, Gemma Arterton, Mads Mikkelsen, Jason Flemyng, Alexa Davalos, Izabella Miko, Nicholas Hoult and Pete Postlethwaite. In Clash of the Titans , the ultimate struggle for power pits men against kings and kings against gods. But the war between the gods themselves could destroy the world. Born of a god but raised as a man, Perseus (Worthington) is helpless to save his family from Hades (Fiennes), vengeful god of the underworld. With nothing left to lose, Perseus volunteers to lead a dangerous mission to defeat Hades before he can seize power from Zeus (Neeson) and unleash hell on earth. Battling unholy demons and fearsome beasts, he will only survive if he can accept his power as a god, defy his fate and create his own destiny.

I am such a huge fan of the original that I was wary of a remake but thankfully, the trailers I’ve seen for the film have impressed the hell out of me. As much as I love the original film, I always found it cheesy as hell … I’m glad to see that the remake takes all the best parts of the myth and treats them very seriously. In October we learned the sad news that Tara Reid would be posing for Playboy magazine and today we get our first look at her Playboy coverphoto for the massive January/February double issue. Reid, who once swore she would never pose for Playboy, now voices her pride for stripping down for the mag:

Tara Reid has overcome her botched plastic surgery insecurities by stripping down to pose for the upcoming issue of Playboy magazine. Dressed in a cropped tuxedo shirt, fishnet stockings and black lace bra, the “American Pie” actress seductively poses on the cover of the magazine’s “massive double” January/February issue. Despite previous reports the actress would be posing in the buff, Reid says she appears only topless in the pictorial. “I’m in my 30s now. I feel like I’m at the best age in my life, mentally, spiritually, physically, of how I feel,” she told WPIX Channel 11 News. “I’m proud of it.” However, the 33-year-old actress wasn’t always so proud of her body. A bungled 2004 liposuction procedure and breast augmentation left her with scars that she previously said would keep her from ever posing for the magazine. “I know there are problems with my stomach. There are bumps on it, it’s uneven, but it’s not that bad. My stomach scars are my battle wounds,” she told the magazine In Touch Weekly at the time. But now, Reid, who underwent reconstructive surgery in 2006 to repair the damage, is showing off her newfound confidence. According to the mag, the actress was reportedly nervous when she shot the pictorial in October at a private residence in Santa Monica, Calif. However, she became more comfortable as the day went on. “She was a bit insecure about her body when they first started,” said an insider. “She looked great and finally got into the groove.”

It is a happy day indeed when Tara Reid gets her groove back. I guess the old adage Never Say Never rings true once again. I truly hope this Playboy pictorial does good things for Tara‘s career … considering that she doesn’t really have a career anymore, it can only get better, right? I commend her for getting over the insecurities she endured after suffering her botched plastic surgeries but, to be honest, I’m not really all that interested in seeing just how confident she really is. Good for her for scoring Playboy‘s cover, tho. I guess dreams really do come true.

Nicole Richie showed off her new darker locks at an in-store appearance at Bloomingdale’s here in SoCal over the weekend at a promo event for her jewelry line House of Harlow 1960. Nicole confessed that she dyed her hair brunette about a week ago and did so because she was “tired of being a blonde”. I guess blondes don’t have more fun after all:

On Saturday, Nicole Richie debuted a darker do at the launch of the House of Harlow 1960 Holiday Collection at Bloomingdale’s in Costa Mesa, Calif. “I did it about a week-and-a-half ago,” the mother-of-two, 28, told Usmagazine.com when asked about her new look. “I change my hair color all the time, and I hadn’t done it in a few years. With the babies, I just really hadn’t had time. I’m so used to having that change all the time, and I hadn’t done it in about two years, so I was just ready and sick of being blonde! I was ready for a change!” Richie said she is gearing up for the holidays with beau Joel Madden and their two kids, Harlow (who turns 2 next month) and 3-month-old Sparrow. Any family traditions? “I don’t have a lot of traditions,” she said. “I have gotten a new Christmas ornament every year so I will probably do that. I’m a big eggnog drinker. Not the kind with alcohol in it, but the regular kind. I thought that everyone drinks eggnog, but as I’m getting older, I’m learning that people actually think it’s really gross, but I love it, so I will definitely have some eggnog!” Her kids “are great,” she said, adding that Harlow “loves being a big sister.”

I love it!! Nicole looks amazing. In the photos she posted on her official blog last week, it looked to me like she cut her hair but I’m happy to see that she kept it long. As much as I love Nicole‘s bob hair’do, I love her much more with longer locks. I think the brunette really suits her … it makes her look more mature. What do y’all think … is this darker hair color a good look for her?
