Alvin & the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel doesn’t open in theaters until December 23 but I’m already counting down the seconds ’til its release. Now, I must clarify that I had ZERO interest in seeing the first Alvin & the Chipmunks movie but I was a fan of the little guys when I was a kid. But, because the sequel film, er, the squeakquel features The Chipettes performing Beyoncé‘s hit song Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It), well, I’m seeing this movie damnit:

Earlier this week we got to meet the charming Mike The Situation Sorrentino and classy Paul Pauly D Delvecchio from the new HIT MTV show Jersey Shore and today we learn that said program managed to amp up its ratings in just one week’s time. Apparently all the buzz about the show has inspired a whole lot more people (50% more, to be exact) to tune in to watch the show:

The cast of MTV’s Jersey Shore may seem oblivious to the outside world as they party, pump their fists, and work out, but viewers are taking note of them: The show’s second week ratings were up 50 percent in its second week, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Jersey Shore nabbed 2.1 million viewers, a big boost from the 1.3 million viewers that tuned in for the show’s debut. The series follows eight twenty-somethings living together in a rented beach house in Seaside Heights, N.J. It has gotten widespread attention in part because of objections from Italian-Americans who say it portrays their culture in a negative light.

Much of the buzz that the show is enjoying stems from a preview aired by MTV of new eps of the show, one in particular shows female castmember Nicole Snooki Polizzi getting punched in the face by a large man. MTV has decided to pull that infamous punch from airing on the show but a clip of the incident has already gone viral and has spread far and wide on the Internets. Last night I ventured North to Ventura, CA to attend the last show of Morrissey‘s Swords Tour which, as it turns out, will very likely be my last concert of 2009 and, indeed, of the decade. You may recall that Jordan and I saw Moz play a show in Pomona, CA last Monday but I just had to see the Mozzer one more time. He actually played the Gibson Amphitheatre here in LA on Thursday night but I hear it wasn’t his best performance (Moz has been plagued by throat problems on this latest tour) … there was a lot of fear that he would cancel the Ventura show but it went off without a hitch. On my way up the 101 freeway, I made a pit stop at one of my fave places to eat in the whole world …

… my beloved Chick-Fil-A. Pink reader Laura gave me the head’s up that there is a Chick-Fil-A in Oxnard, CA (which is on the way to Ventura) so I just had to stop for a delish meal. I made it to The Ventura Theater just in time for Moz to take the stage:

Great news, Lambs!! Mariah Carey has announced the first dates of her new Angels Advocate Tour which will kick off in NYC, NY on December 31. Mimi will venture out on her first tour since 2006 and will visit 19 cities in just the first 2 months of the tour:

Mariah Carey announced the first North American dates in support of her Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel album on Friday (December 11). The two-month, 19-city tour is scheduled to kick off on January 2 at the Borgata in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and is currently slated to wrap up on February 27 at the Pearl Concert Theater in Las Vegas. The Angels Advocate Tour, Carey’s first major outing since 2006′s Adventures of Mimi: The Voice, the Hits, the Tour, will be preceded by a New Year’s Eve warm-up gig at Madison Square Garden in New York. Tickets for most of the dates will go on sale on December 19. The opening act on the tour will be R&B act RydazNrtist, who have just signed to Carey’s husband Nick Cannon’s NCredible Entertainment. The trio recently toured on the BET “106 & Park” outing with Trey Songz, Mario, Sean Garrett and Day26 and have released a debut single, “Sorry Ass Apology.”

At last!! I will finally get to see Mariah Carey on tour!! If you can believe it, I’ve never been to a Mimi concert before but I’m gonna do my best to make it out to this one. Is Bravo TV about to make the biggest mistake ever? No, I’m not talking about their tragic new show Launch My Line, I’m talking about the rumors that they are actually considering replacing both NeNe Leakes and Kim Zolciak on The Real Housewives of Atlanta. One report claims the ladies are feuding with Bravo over pay, another report asserts the parties are feuding over electric bills. Whatever the case may be, there is a real chance that both NeNe and Kim may not return for the third season of the show … which, IMHO, would be the greatest travesty in Bravo TV history:

Forget about being “Tardy for the Party”! It seems Kim Zolciak and NeNe Leakes may not even be invited to the party! A report claims Bravo producers are looking to replace the feuding stars in the third season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. “Things with NeNe and Kim have been intense,” a source told the The New York Daily News, “but Bravo feels the show is about the franchise as a whole and won’t let one person stop it.” The two frenemies are reportedly demanding bigger paychecks from Bravo for the upcoming season and the show’s producers are “so fed up with their diva-esque requests” that they’re “taking meetings with some notable and wealthy Atlanta women” about joining the show in Kim and NeNe’s place. While Bravo had no comment on the reported casting shakeup, a source tells PEOPLE that “no decisions on a season 3 have been made yet.”

From TMZ: NeNe Leakes and Kim Zolciak are locked in a stand-off with the people at “Real Housewives of Atlanta”– and we’re told it’s partly due to a power struggle over their electric bill. Sources close to the ladies tell TMZ both women are in the midst of contract negotiations with Bravo for next season — and a major point of contention is the electric bill. We’re told the ladies are sick of having to pay giant electric bills out of their own pocket after the show tapes at their homes and drains tons of juice from their sockets. We’re also told the women are demanding an upgrade in travel arrangement — because they’re tired of having to use their own airline miles to upgrade from the coach seats provided by the show. There are more demands — including stipends for wardrobe, hair and make-up. Calls to Bravo were not immediately returned.

Here’s the deal … NeNe and Kim are THE best castmembers on the show. If one of them was lost, it would be bad for the show … if both of them are axed, the show is no longer worth watching — period. I get that they may have bigger demands but they really made the show the success that it is. Bravo prolly thinks they can be replaced and viewers won’t care … not true. I will care and I can assure you, I would NOT be interested in watching a NeNe-less season of Atlanta Housewives. Bravo needs to work this shizz out … they simply cannot lose their 2 biggest Atlanta stars.

A new day, a couple new developments in the Tiger Woods Cheating Scandal. As you should already be well aware, Tiger Woods announced yesterday that he will be taking an “indefinite break” from professional golf as well as admitting his marital infidelity to the world in a statement posted on his official website. Now we are hearing that Woods, his wife Elin Nordegren and his two children Sam Alexis (who is 2 years old) and Charlie Axel (who was just born back in February of this year) may be moving to Sweden to escape the intense media glare here in the US. Now, I’m not sure if that is truly the case (my gut tells me that just Elin and the kids are going to Sweden) but a small moving truck was spotted outside one of Woods’s homes which removed 5 big boxes so … it’s possible that someone is moving somewhere. In the wake of Tiger Woods’ infidelity and career hiatus revelation, a new report emerges that he and wife Elin Nordegren are planning to move out of their Florida mansion and head for her native Sweden to escape further media scrutiny. A close friend of the former model tells ABC News, “Tiger is going to Sweden with his wife, and they want to leave as soon as possible.” Official confirmation is yet to be made by Woods, Nordegren, or their people. Nevertheless, it was reported recently that Nordegren might have purchased a $2.29 million house on an island near Stockholm last week by herself. At that time, the 28-year-old mother of two children was accompanied by her twin sister Josefin. Woods was nowhere to be seen. In the meantime, more and more women step forward to claim alleged affairs with the avid golfer. And instead of making direct confirmation if he had flings with any of those women, Woods prefers to play it coy, simply admitting to an “infidelity”, which he says has caused disappointment and hurt to so many people, most of all his wife and children. Nordegren herself hasn’t made a single comment on her marital woes though.

From TMZ: A truck pulled up to Tiger Woods’ home an hour ago in Windermere, Florida and removed 5 big boxes from the house. The truck driver went inside and removed 5 or 6 moving boxes from the house, put them in the back of the truck and left. We got a pic of the truck as it sat in the driveway. A security team watched as the boxes were removed, and then flanked the truck as it left the property. No word on who’s stuff is being moved, but Elin Nordegren and the kids have been living there since the incident two weeks ago. Tiger has been nowhere in sight.

OY!! Yes, it’s plainly obvs that there may be a lot of movement to come for the Woods family in the coming days/weeks. I still cannot believe how messy this scandal has become … I was sure that something was going on with those other women but I had no idea just how deep in the crap Tiger Woods was really in. Cheaters never prosper, that’s for sure.

So … it was reported earlier this week that Lindsay Lohan was bound for India and for the life of me, I had no inkling what in the world for. Unless someone was opening a new discotech/nightclub in the region, I couldn’t wrap my head around the purpose of Lindsay‘s trip … but know we know the circumstances surrounding her visit to the third world. Lindsay Lohan made her way to India to participate in a documentary about human trafficking … yes, that Lindsay Lohan. Here are few photos of L. Lo in India and some deets about her work there:

She might not be the first person to spring to mind when finding a celebrity to film a documentary about child trafficking in India. But Lindsay Lohan, who is known for her partying lifestyle, seems to be having quite a remarkable effect on the country already – and is probably hoping to have a similar impact on her career. The 23-year-old is visiting India to make a BBC documentary about women and children in the country. She twittered: ‘Over 40 children saved so far, within one day’s work. ‘This is what life is about . . . Doing THIS is a life worth living!!! Oh, and I’m talking about being in India.’ That post, along with one which reads ‘Traffiking [sic] is a big issue here. I’m [doing] what I can’, has since been removed from her page. Another message which said ‘Keep telling people about what’s going on in all 2nd and 3rd world countries’, has also been taken down. The Mean Girls actress, who is as well known for her partying lifestyle as her film work, said: ‘Focusing on celebrities and lies is so disconcerting, when we can be changing the world one child at a time. Hope everyone can see that.’ She also posted a picture of an impoverished village and said: ‘Count your blessings. Please try and do something to make a difference for others.’ The star also added that the trip was the ‘most amazing time of my life’ and mentioned the work of Bachpan Bachao Andolan (Save the Childhood Movement), a charity which works against child trafficking. Among the places she has been, Lindsay visited the SANLAAP (women and children’s charity) home in Kolkata and will also be visiting local hospitals to give toys to sick children.

To be honest, I’m not even sure what to say to this … revelation. I think it’s really remarkable that Lindsay would even deign to be a part of a documentary like this … that she would take the next step and fly to the Third World is … unbelievable. While I personally think she doesn’t really do a service to the cause by speaking unintelligently on the issue via Twitter (which is why I suspect others had her take down her tweets), I cannot help but applaud her for her herculean efforts. And so … the latest installment of the Tiger Woods Cheating Scandal is upon us. Late afternoon Friday, Woods posted an official statement on his official website first acknowledging his marital infidelity and secondly announcing that he is taking an “indefinite break” from competing in professional golf. Here is the full text of his latest statement:

I am deeply aware of the disappointment and hurt that my infidelity has caused to so many people, most of all my wife and children. I want to say again to everyone that I am profoundly sorry and that I ask forgiveness. It may not be possible to repair the damage I’ve done, but I want to do my best to try. I would like to ask everyone, including my fans, the good people at my foundation, business partners, the PGA Tour, and my fellow competitors, for their understanding. What’s most important now is that my family has the time, privacy, and safe haven we will need for personal healing. After much soul searching, I have decided to take an indefinite break from professional golf. I need to focus my attention on being a better husband, father, and person. Again, I ask for privacy for my family and I am especially grateful for all those who have offered compassion and concern during this difficult period.

In order for a person who so desperately tries to protect his privacy to release 3 official and very public statements (first one HERE, second one HERE) in the wake of a firestorm of cheating allegations, you just KNOW the shit had to hit the fan, like, Whoa! In the span of a couple of weeks, Tiger‘s assessment of this Cheating Scandal went from a mere “embarrassing situation” to “transgressions” and now to admitted “infidelity” … at least he seems to be more comfortable coming clean about what it is that is really going on. I’m not sure who he’s referring to when he thanks those who offered “compassion and concern” for him during this “difficult period” … I’d be very interested to know who these people are that feel bad for him because he got caught cheating on his wife with reportedly (and at last count) 10 different women. With this announcement, I suspect that Tiger Woods will find himself a dank hole to crawl into in the hopes that this mess will eventually go away. It remains to be seen what his wife Elin Nordegren will do with the couple’s children but I’m guessing that she will not be following faithfully behind him as he tries to hide away from the world in said dank hole. At least Tiger Woods is being more forthright about this behavior … I guess we’ll have to see what will come next from this ongoing and UNBELIEVABLY messy saga.
