"I am officially working on a television project!"
Nicole Richie Has Announced Her Return To TV

Nicole Richie, former star of the reality TV series The Simple Life with her then BFF Paris Hilton, has announced her return to TV on her official blog. Nicole has revealed that she is working on a scripted TV sitcom for ABC that she will produce AND star in!!

I am so excited to announce that I am officially working on a television project! I am creating a half hour scripted comedy for ABC in which I will be starring in, as well as producing. The story revolves around a young, modern and professional woman who must balance her business and family relationships. She must deal with, and navigate the many ideas of what a woman’s role is: modern vs. traditional. Lately, I have been surrounded by many different women of all ages and walks of life. It amazes me to watch and observe how many different ideas there are about what a woman’s role should be in this era. I’ve taken these fascinating ideas, and compiled them into something that I think will be very special (and funny!). We’re still in the very early stages and I can’t wait to share more with you soon!

Sounds a lot different, more substantial and way more mature than her stint on The Simple Life. It’s really phenomenal how much Nicole Richie has grown over the years from the wild child partygirl she used to be to the responsible mother and business woman she is today. I’m very curious to see how this show will turn out and I wish her all the success in the world. I think this is great news … what do y’all think?

Another look at David Daniel Otunga, Jr.
Jennifer Hudson Shows Off Her Baby Boy On ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show’

After giving birth to her first born child David Daniel back in August, Jennifer Hudson gave us our first look at her newborn baby boy in the pages of People magazine in early October. Yesterday, J. Hud paid a visit to The Oprah Winfrey Show and she brought along a couple new photos of little David and shared some cute plans for the upcoming holiday season:

Most new mothers will take any opportunity to show off photographs of their bundle of joy. And Jennifer Hudson was certainly no exception as she proudly shared her snaps of her baby boy David with Oprah Winfrey. Speaking to the Queen of Chat on her show yesterday, the singer cooed over recent photos of her four-month-old son and revealed that she is planning to make his first Christmas a special one. She said: ‘I’m going to go crazy. He’s very aware but he’s so young and it’s his first Christmas, so you have to go all-out.’ And she said she would like to get him his own Santa and toy store, and added: ‘I kind of want to get him his own Santa Claus and just have like a toy store in the house, full of things.’ Hudson, 28, gave birth to David Daniel – named after his father, Jennifer’s fiancée David Otunga – in August this year … Hudson has been a regular guest on The Oprah Winfrey Show, and gave the chat show host her first interview since the family murders in February this year. On yesterday’s show, after gushing about baby David to Oprah and her other guests, country music duo, Sugarland, she joined the pair on stage for a rendition of the Christmas carol, Silent Night.

What a little cutie … and he’s gotten so big since we saw him last. While I don’t really understand the need to go all crazy for baby’s first Xmas (especially considering he prolly won’t know what the hell is going on), I can imagine that a new mom’s excitement might feel the need to go all out. Jennifer brought along another cute photo of lil’ David — check it out after the jump …

Hail the conquering heroine
Britney Spears Returns Home From Her Aussie Tour

Yesterday we saw photos from Britney Spears‘s final show of The Circus starring Britney Spears which took place in Adelaide, Australia and we also saw photos of our dear Britney making her departure from Oz on her way home to SoCal. Today we get to see the first photos of Britney back on US soil as she made her grand arrival at LAX Airport last night. As soon as Britney had landed, she sent out a tweet message to all of her fans on Twitter:

Just got home. Flew on V Australia. I think these planes might be the most comfortable planes I have ever been on. -Britney

Yes, the poor dear looks a bit wrecked but no matter how “comfortable” her V Australia plane was, that flight is one helluva trip. I kinda love that she picked up a neck pillow decorated in the Australian flag … at least we know she has one souvenir to remember her time in Oz ;) Welcome home, Britters!! Lookin’ forward to seeing you out and about here at home once again :)

Raise money. Increase awareness. Fight prejudice. Improve education.
World AIDS Day 2009

Today, December 1, is World AIDS day and I would like to take this opportunity to remind all y’all that this is the time of year when the WORLD works together in unison to shine a light on the plight of those living with AIDS. The main purpose of World AIDS Day is to help raise money for AIDS treatment and research, increase awareness of the disease, fight the prejudice of those who are afflicted and improve education for those who are misinformed about HIV and AIDS. The theme for this year’s World AIDS Day is Universal Access and Human Rights:

The theme for World AIDS Day 2009 is ‘Universal Access and Human Rights’. Global leaders have pledged to work towards universal access to HIV and AIDS treatment, prevention and care, recognising these as fundamental human rights. Valuable progress has been made in increasing access to HIV and AIDS services, yet greater commitment is needed around the world if the goal of universal access is to be achieved. Millions of people continue to be infected with HIV every year. In low- and middle-income countries, less than half of those in need of antiretroviral therapy are receiving it, and too many do not have access to adequate care services.3 The protection of human rights is fundamental to combating the global HIV and AIDS epidemic. Violations against human rights fuel the spread of HIV, putting marginalised groups, such as injecting drug users and sex workers, at a higher risk of HIV infection. By promoting individual human rights, new infections can be prevented and people who have HIV can live free from discrimination. World AIDS Day provides an opportunity for all of us – individuals, communities and political leaders – to take action and ensure that human rights are protected and global targets for HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment and care are met.

For more information on the theme of World AIDS Day 2009 click HERE, for more info on World AIDS Day as a whole visit the official website HERE. Twitter, which has grown to massive proportions this year, has turned #red for World AIDS Day to help raise awareness and and funds for HIV/AIDS treatment and research:

Twitter has turned red to mark World Aids Day 2009. The makeover is designed to mark World Aids Day, which aims to raise awareness and funds for HIV/Aids projects across the world. Twitter’s new red livery also contains a link directly through to the Twitter page of Product Red, the HIV/Aids awareness charity founded by U2 singer Bono which hopes to fight the spread of Aids in Africa. Twitter users are also able to add a virtual red World Aids Day ribbon to their Twitter picture. The virtual ribbon, known as a Twibbon, is displayed on top of a user’s profile picture on all of their tweets. There is also a special hashtag, #red, which changes tweets red to pick out mentions of World Aids Day. And celebrity Twitter users are also throwing their weight behind the awareness campaign. Stephen Fry said the red tweets were “cool”, and urged fellow Twitter users to show their support for Aids charities: “The tworld has gone #RED for #WorldAIDSDay. You can visit www.worldAIDSday.org to read real stories about HIV and show your support.” The actor Ashton Kutcher, who has more than four million Twitter followers, tweeted: “10% of world population is in Africa. 67% of all HIV cases are there. Get involved #red” It’s the first time Twitter has changed its layout or colour scheme to mark an event in this way. Other websites, such as Google, regularly display special “doodles” or logos to mark notable dates. The Google.com webpage currently has a red ribbon logo on it, with a link through to Google.org, the search giant’s philanthropic division, where web users can find out more about HIV/Aids projects.

Hopefully you’ll be hearing about World AIDS Day from many sources all day long today … wherever in the world you are. I hope you will pay attention to the message and offer your help if you can. Until we find a cure, the fight will carry on. Silence = Death … it’s time to speak up and demand a cure.
