A new video has come to light of Marilyn Monroe chillin’ with some of her homegirls back in the day that seems to show that she and her BFFs were fond of the Mary Jane. The woman who claims to have filmed the home movie, and wishes to remain nameless, says she found the footage in her attic all these years later and thought it’d be fun to share it with the world … sounds like a good friend to me:

Smoking hot. Marilyn Monroe’s latest movie may explain the blonde bombshell’s notoriously bubbly personality. In footage that has just come to light after being forgotten for half a century, the “Some Like it Hot” star is seen puffing on what the owner of the film says is a marijuana joint. “I had it up in my attic all this time,” says the woman who shot the film, basically a home movie. The friend of Marilyn, who doesn’t want to be named publicly, said she regularly hung out with the starlet in the 50s, and thought nothing to be hanging out with her. “Home movies, that’s all it was,” she told NBCNewYork.com. “It was never a big deal for me.” The source, younger than Marilyn at the time and now in her late 60s, says she even rolled the doobie for Monroe, but claims the smoking didn’t have that much of an effect on the starlet. “It was all real casual, it was just friends hanging out,” she said. “She was the same [after smoking] — a little giggly.” The woman worked as office administrator most of her life and didn’t realize the reel-to-reel film could be valuable, until she was put in contact with Manhattan gallery owner Keya Morgan, who has an extensive Marilyn Monroe collection, as well as historical presidential memorabilia. “I’ve seen people with a $2 million [Abraham] Lincoln letter on their wall and I tell them how much it is worth and they’re like, ‘Wow,’” said Morgan, describing it as the “Antiques Roadshow affect.” They released a 90-second clip of the footage to NBC New York today, but the entire clip is set to be auctioned off at a later date. Morgan is now working with the friend of Marilyn, as well as numerous witnesses and retired law-enforcement agents, on a documentary about the star’s untimely demise in 1962, called “Marilyn Monroe: Murder on Fifth Helena Drive.” The listed cause of death at the time was “probable suicide.” “I am certain she was murdered,” said the friend. “The thing I want to get out is what a neat person she really was. She was just a delight, down to earth. If you didn’t know she was an actress, you couldn’t tell.”

I mean, hello, didn’t we all know that Marilyn Monroe was a partygirl? I don’t think this video should come as any big surprise to pretty much anyone … but it is kinda interesting to see MM hangin’ out with her friends smokin’ down on a fat one. E! News‘s Marc Malkin is reporting that the epic public and pretty nasty feud between Tori Spelling and her mother Candy might be over … or, at the very least, might be coming to an end. According to Malkin, mother and daughter started peace talks when they were each hospitalized in September … since that time, they’ve begun to mend fences and, in a huge step towards peace in the family, Candy has finally deigned to meet her 18-month old granddaughter Stella! Could it really be peace at last in the Spelling family?

It’s no Middle East peace treaty, but it looks like one of the world’s most heated feuds has finally come to an end. A source tells me exclusively that Tori Spelling and her mom, Candy, have quietly been repairing their once very fractured relationship. I’m told the two began talking again in September, when both were in the hospital. Tori was being treated for a stomach ailment, while Mama Spelling underwent back surgery. Things are going so well that Candy finally met Tori and hubby Dean McDermott’s 18-month-old daughter, Stella. She has also spent time with grandson Liam, 2, who she apparently hadn’t seen in over a year. Reps for both Spellings did not immediately comment. In April, Candy posted an open letter on her website expressing hope that she and the 90210 star could begin having a better relationship. She also said she’d like to start spending more time with her grandchildren. Candy declined Tori’s invite to Stella’s first birthday party in July because, the matriarch explained, she didn’t want to become a storyline in the Tori & Dean reality show. Not that Candy has anything against reality programming. She’ll be featured on E!’s very own upcoming Bank of Hollywood, a Ryan Seacrest-produced show premiering Dec. 14 in which everyday people will try to persuade a group of panelists, including Candy, to give them money to help them fulfill their dreams.

Thank the sweet baby Jebus! This feud between mother and daughter is THE dumbest thing ever … the bitter words that have been hurtled back and forth over the years were such a waste that I am happy to know that they seem to finally be over all the bullshizz. I truly hope that both Tori and Candy realize that life is too short for silly feuds like this. Let’s all send our best wishes to the Spelling women in the hopes that they will truly kiss and make up once and for all.

Yay!! Congratulations are in order for singer/songwriter Lisa Loeb and her hubby Roey Hershkovitz who became proud parents of a bouncing baby girl on Sunday!! People magazine is reporting that the happy parents named their little girl Lyla Rose Loeb Hershkovitz!!

It’s a baby girl for singer Lisa Loeb and her husband Roey Hershkovitz, her rep tells PEOPLE exclusively. Lyla Rose Loeb Hershkovitz arrived Sunday morning at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and is the first child for the couple. Loeb, 41, and Hershkovitz, 31, a music production supervisor for The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien, announced that they were expecting in September. The couple met in 2006 at a business meeting and married last January.

You may recall that little Lyla Rose, in bump form, made her red carpet debut in October and here she is already. As I mentioned before, I was lucky enough to spend Thanksgiving dinner with Lisa, Roey and the not-yet-born Lyla Rose last week but little did any of us know that she would be making her entrance into the world so soon. I understand she wasn’t due to be born until Xmas week … but I guess she couldn’t wait any longer. Much, much love and congrats goes out to the happy family!!

Altho David’s return home from back East signaled the end of my Week of Sloth, yesterday was a pretty slothy day for the both of us. We ended up staying in for most of the day … he ventured out to hit the gym, I stayed on the couch watching Xanadu:

I’m telling you … no matter how many times I see this film, I can never get enough. The cheese factor is just too awesome to deny. I love this movie :)

But, yeah, that was pretty much the highlight of my day. Tonight, David and I are going to see The Wizard of Oz at the ArcLight Cinemadome which should be fun. I’ve never seen The Wizard of Oz on the big screen and this is the 70th anniversary digitally remastered version so … it should be rad.

Last month there were rumors of a secret photoshoot for Elle magazine featuring living legend (you can look but don’t touch) Britney Spears and last night Entertainment Tonight gave us our first look at the photos from that shoot. As you can see, Brit‘s boys are wearing cute little tuxedos for this shoot to compliment their mama’s white dress. Earlier this month we learned that Ashlee Simpson was planning to make her Broadway debut in the NYC production of Chicago (the same show she performed in on the West End in London, England last year) after she was unceremoniously fired from her gig on Melrose Place … and last night was her premiere night! Really, who needs a show that’s going to evict you after just 12 episodes? Certainly not Ashlee Simpson-Wentz! The former inhabitant of Melrose Place moved into her new home on Broadway officially last night, making her debut as Roxie Hart in Chicago at the Ambassador Theatre. Of course, the star’s unfamiliar territory was made a bit more cozy given that she performed the role in London’s West End. And her star-studded support system in the audience didn’t hurt either. Husband Pete Wentz and sister Jessica Simpson were sitting with papa Joe and mom Tina with figurative bells on. “I’ve looked forward to this moment since I watched her own the stage in London,” Jessica tweeted. (Obviously, the long-running musical isn’t as “crappy” as a certain CW show). “Roxie was all Heart! Watching her up on that grandiose stage made me the proudest sister in the world.” Pete was downright nervous for his baby mama’s big moment. “When I get nervous I jitterbug and dance inside my head,” he tweeted. “It doesn’t matter what you’re, saying it just sounds like the Black Eyed Peas to me.”

Welp, if you can’t make it on TV it makes sense that you heed the call if Broadway comes calling. Ash is very lucky that she already played the part in London because, I’m sure, it make her transition to Broadway all that much easier. Even still, I’m sure all the supportive folks in the audience helped her out immensely. Now that CTU has opened an office in NYC (near the United Nations building, apparently), it works out to be the PERFECT time for 24 to move to the Big Apple. As much as I love watching 24 set in LA, I guess I’m kinda looking forward to having all the action in the new season take place on Manhattan island. I didn’t mind so much all the action taking place in Washington DC last season so … I’m excited. I really love the gritty, action-hero look of these promo pics … I also love that we are just about a month away from the premiere of the new season :)
