Goodbye 2009 . . .

The TV Guide
Thursday, December 31st, 2009

By many accounts, 2009 was not a great year and was a pretty miserable end to a fairly hellacious decade. I don’t know many people who aren’t happy to see 2009 end. So, it is appropriate that we give a hearty Peace the Spork Out to the year 2009:

But, as miserable as the year was for most, I have to say that it wasn’t so bad for me. Sure, the failing economy had an adverse effect on my life just like it did for so many others but when I look back on the last year, I can only focus on the positive things that occurred. David and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary by moving in together here in LA back in February. I made some fantastic new friends who I love and care for dearly. I was able to celebrate the love and union of a couple of amazing people who tied the knot this year. But, I think, most importantly … I was able to continue doing what I love to do … I was able to get another year of blogging under my belt. I want to send out lots of love and wishes for a Happy, Happy New Year to each and every one of you reading this today. We are on the brink of a whole new year, a whole new decade and that means a whole new opportunity for fresh starts. I am resolving to do more studying in the new year and am planning to reconnect with the beauty and holiness of Nature. I am really excited for 2010 …

… and I wish you all love, prosperity, health and happiness in 2010 and beyond!

Happy New Year, y’all!!

Mr. & Mrs. Cannon Share Their Xmas Leftovers

Drawn Together
Thursday, December 31st, 2009

While there are mere hours left of 2009, I have one last Xmas ‘09 tidbit to share with all y’all. Happily marrieds Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon commissioned artist J. David McKenney to illustrate their Xmas card this year … which you can see below:

Mariah Carey and hubby Nick Cannon have several holiday traditions, including spending Christmas in Aspen, Colorado and sending out a cartoon Christmas card to family and friends. Illustrated by J. David McKenney, this year’s card portrays the couple as a sexy version of Mr. and Mrs. Claus, surrounded by their four dogs J.J., Cha-Cha, Dolomite, and Jack. Last year, Mariah and Nick were also dressed as Mrs. and Mr. Claus on a reindeer-drawn sleigh filled with gifts.

I love this Xmas card … it’s really cute. After the jump, check out the card that McKenney illustrated for Mr. & Mrs. Cannon for Xmas ‘08 …

David Beckham Becomes A Milano

Sharp dressed man
Thursday, December 31st, 2009

On Tuesday we got our first look at David Beckham all decked out in his black and red soccer uniform for AC Milan and today we get to see Becks all decked out in something a bit more slick. Becks participated in a press conference for his European soccer team yesterday and made his way out of the venue dressed in his AC Milan best … behold:

Love it … Becks will end the year the way he began the year, lookin’ hot. I know he’s all amped to hopefully join the English soccer team so he can compete in the World Cup one more (last?) time next year so I hope he has a stellar season with AC Milan so that wish can come true. Happy New Year, Becks … here’s to many more New Years of hawtness :)

Nicole Richie & Joel Madden Share Date Night With The LA Lakers

Score!
Thursday, December 31st, 2009

Here are a couple of supercute pics of Nicole Richie and Joel Madden enjoying a night out together at the LA Lakers game this week. The couple spend a lot of time out with the kiddies but they don’t get to do quiet date nights very often … it looks like they had a great time:

Undoubtedly, Nic/Joel had a fantastic 2009 together … not only did they get to watch their beautiful babygirl, Harlow Winter, grow into an adorable little toddler but they also welcomed the birth of a babyboy, Sparrow James. As their family grew so did their love. Here’s to a happy and prosperous 2010 for the Richie-Madden family. Considering how cute their babies turn out, I’d not be surprised at all if they decided to add another little one to the fam ;)

A Quick Trip To ‘Mexico City’

The TV Guide
Thursday, December 31st, 2009

Last night David and I met up with our friends Rob, Tam, Ollie, Caleb and Kanani (who was a nice surprise) for dinner at Mexico City in Los Feliz. We hadn’t seen these guys since way before Xmas (and I hadn’t seen Kanani since the Summer) so we decided for a little get together since we were all back in town. Here are a couple photos I snapped last night:

The food was excellent but the company was even better … we had a blast.

Tonight, David and I will be making our way to the beach to meet up with our friends Josh and Emma. I wanted to ring in the New Year on the beach of the Pacific Ocean for our first SoCal NYE so it looks like that will be the plan. I’m not sure how much I’ll remember to tweet at the appointed hour but I’ll do my best. I wish you all a Happy, Safe and very Fun New Year’s Eve!!!

Jared Leto’s Last Bike Ride Of 2009

Just can't get enough
Thursday, December 31st, 2009

Jared Leto is a really big fan of bike riding … as we learned back in October, he and his band 30 Seconds to Mars met up with a few dozen friends/fans to film a music video for their new single Kings + Queens with bike riding as the theme of the vid. Yesterday, out in Miami, FL, Jared was spotted riding around town using his favorite mode of transportation:

To be honest, I love seeing photos of Leto out and about doing anything but I particularly like pics of the lad on his bike. It’s hard to believe that this man is actually 38 years old (he just celebrated his birthday last Saturday) but I guess all that bike riding keeps him young … and hawt ;)
