On Thursday we got our first look at Janet Jackson’s Make Me music video, the single off her new greatest hits collection Number Ones, in a behind the scenes video from her video shoot. Today we get to see the final product, the Make Me music video in full:
This video is the PERFECT way to promote a disc of Janet’s biggest hits … it is such a throwback to the classic Janet Jackson that we all know and love. The dance routine is very Janet and does hearken back to her hey day as a superstar … the setting even feels like an anteroom to the setting featured in her Scream music video with her late brother Michael Jackson. The more I hear this song, the more I like it. The video helps a lot … I love the look and feel of the whole thing. I suspect that JJ will perform some of her big hits when she opens the American Music Awards on Sunday night but methinks she may also throw in a bit of this song as well. See, it’s videos like this that remind me why I love Janet Jackson so much.

:O is that seriously Nico?! well…i didnt have much love for the video..but with him being in it…it scores some points.
i dunno im still not feeling this song too much..its grown on me…but not as much as i was hoping for…and the video..i was kinda hoping for more dancing but…meh.
just one question wtf is up with that white thing at the 2:40 mark?

I’m feeling this video and song, especially the way she looks. For some reason I love those pointy metal shoulders. :D I think it’s cute she did a small nod to Michael (the Don’t Stop til you Get Enough part).

Yes! Props to Janet for featuring two of Canada’s So You Think You Can Dance alumni. Nico won last year. He’s amazing. :-)

The song has a disco/80s sound. I like it. And that lyric is similar to Michael’s “Don’t Stop Till You Get Enough” but she’s singing “Don’t stop it baby, Don’t stop till you get it up” which is classic Janet singing about anything sex related.
She looks and sounds so much like Michael. I really see a resemblance in their smiles and eyes.

Okay just a few things… Britney and Janet would be the greatest collabo since Janet and Michael which is my fave duet ever. Scream is the ultimate duet. Its just pure awesome!!!!

Second, love this song, the video is good, but Trent and everyone else… nothing NOTHING NOTHING ever beats Rock With U by Janet Jackson. That video is the ultimate shiz and shits all over every other dance video INCLUDING Single Ladies.

Britney and Janet would be a great way to also tribute Michael with Brit and Michael being quite good friends from the time they spent together. Performing etc… it would be really nice. Perhaps a single thats on both their albums if Brit is actually releasing a new album next year??

Futuristic thing… Janet has been rocking this look for quite some time now. SHe did it with Scream. But also with Feedback/Discipline. But i do admit, Kylie was the first to do it in such a popular mainstream approach and Beyonce totally ripped off Kylie with the glove etc…
As much as i hate the Xtina vs. Brit thing and i do like Brit more, i have alot of respect for Xtina cause of her talent, but i CANNOT WAIT FOR HER NEW MATERIAL. I seriously want it to leak.

I love Janet and I love this video! I like the futuristic vibe, which was actually a common theme from her Discipline album. I liked the styling in the video as well. Pure talent. Call me old fashioned, but I still appreciate talent…something which is sorely lacking in music these days…

I would like to say that the references to her saying “Don’t Stop Til You Get Enough” isn’t really what she’s saying. It’s actually “Don’t Stop Til You Get It Up”!
Can’t wait for the AMA’s tomorrow night. Janet rocks!

Oh gosh I hope a Britney/Janet collab NEVER happens. I am sorry but Britney spears is such trash and Janet is such a classy woman. Britney is an excellent entertainer and I will give her credit for that but she cannot sing and is nowhere near Janet level in regards to respect earned. If Janet were to ever do a collab I would hope it would be with someone much more talented and classy than anything Britney is capable of plus i shudder to think about what Britney sounds like minus the autotune and technobeats.
Moving on, I really like this new song because it reminds me of what got me liking Janet Jackson music in the first place way back when I was 5 years old. A lot of her newer music has been somewhat lackluster even though she is one of my favorite artists so I am glad to see her beginning to incorporate some of her older style again.

A Janet/britney collaboration would be PERFECT. I seriously don’t see how they say britney resembels Madonna, because for the past 12 years i’ve been see-ing Britney holding it down like Janet (dancewise,& Entertainment). And if Lip-sync is gonna be brought-up they both doing the same thing they hardly don’t sing live. Britney is an ICON, her main Teacher has always been Janet, dont’ see why they bring up Madonna.
