Watch: Beyoncé Featuring Lady Gaga, ‘Video Phone (Extended Remix)’
"I'ma leave my number on your video phone"

At long last we get our first look at the new Beyoncé and Lady Gaga collaborative effort for B‘s new music video for her single Video Phone (Extended Remix) available on the re-release of Beyoncé‘s I Am … Sasha Fierce (Platinum Edition) album. The ladies teamed up for a duet of sorts for this new single and both appear in the just released music video:

The video is mostly Beyoncé with just a little Gaga thrown in … to be honest, and I’m not trying to sound like a hater here, this collabo kinda falls flat. Gaga‘s contribution to the song is totally unnecessary both musically and visually. Her one added verse is forgettable and her scenes in the video are totally uninteresting. To be honest, I don’t really love all the different Beyoncé looks included in the video either … I also find it funny that we don’t ever see a video phone … not once. That said, I’ll leave it to y’all to judge for yourselves — after the jump, check out the video in full …

In all honesty, I’m was never really in love with the original song in the first place … I think a duet remix between Beyoncé and Lady Gaga could’ve been much more cooler than this. Full disclosure, I am actually enjoying the new tracks that Gaga has released off her new re-release The Fame Monster. I’m far from being a bona fide Gaga fan but I can at least appreciate that she is, in my opinion, finally putting out better music. Lady Gaga and Beyoncé duet again on the song Telephone on The Fame Monster … I’d be curious to see if the ladies will team up for another, more interesting music video for that track. What do y’all think … is this video all that?

Horrible video. Horrible music. The music industry is filled with a bunch of over produced and over-hyped bullshit!

  2. Nikki D says:

    ummm… no thank you.

  3. meh says:

Song is forgettable, love Beyonce’s Varga/Betty Page look, hate Gaga’s makeup, LOVE Gaga’s nose

  4. Lana says:

GAGA SUCKS! Get over it. She IS a flash in the pan :]]

This video is terrible, and I LOVE Beyonce. I’m disappointed in her.

  5. Ani says:

I have to disagree with the majority. I like this vdeo, Beyonce looks good and her dancing is so fun and looks awesome! Lady Gaga on the other hand literally grosses me out. I usually can handle her but she is just so awkward and unattractive in this video. Also, I usually like petite, thin bodies but gaga looks nasty compared to b’s sexy curves!!

  6. KISHSHENTLY says:

THOUGH I LOVE BEYONCE I DON’T REALLY GET THE VIDEO OR WHAY LADY GAGA IS DOING IN IT.AND LOOSE THE STYLE WITH THE FRINGE YOU LOOK LIKE RIHANNA(MY GIRL)AND I THINK INSTEAD OF B MOVING UP SHE IS LOOSING HER TOUCH.

This vid is definitely different, but I kind of like it! I think it’s actually pretty cool and fun! Plus all of the costumes were visually appealing! I’m not too sure I understand the point in this collaboration… it doesn’t add anything great to the video, but it doesn’t detract from anything either. Trent’s hatred towards Lady Gaga makes me LOL. I liked “Just Dance,” but afterwards she got old quick. I think she’s talented as a song writer, but I don’t think she’s particularly talented as a vocalist or musician. Too much flash and not enough substance, IMHO.

I’m sick of this whole superfluous, overproduced, and mind-melting top 40 music. Beyonce Knowles had a strong voice for a singer, but she’s singing these bland, been-there-done-that love songs just to please the consumers. What a sell-out. Mariah Carey is no different as well. She too pushes music that I wouldn’t approach with a 10 ft. pole.

I honestly don’t listen to all this, because the music today is only aimed at easy-to-please tween girls. What do you say about the music industry when the Jonas Brothers get nominated for a Grammy. Thank God I have an iPod which features mostly classic rock and metal. Who needs pussy music.

  9. Michael says:

Also glad Lizzy B. has the same philosophy I have. Not trying to be a Nazi, because that won’t make me any better than the corrupt executives pushing this shit out on us, but do what I said in my last comment.

  10. Michael says:

    Same with Kool Moe Joe.

  11. GB says:

i’m used to being unimpressed by beyonce but what surprised me was that lady gaga’s dancing was just awful!! after watching this vid it makes so much sense to me why she always feels the need to wear/do crazy ass stuff just so people can interpret it as “art”

  12. Nicole says:

I just don’t understand why Gaga doesn’t fix her nose, she looks like Blossom!

  13. Joy says:

i love the video. it’s really aesthetically appealing.

  14. ashley says:

    bad video all around

  15. Jill G says:

Does anyone see how Beyonce looks like she is trying to look like Rianna, Katy Perry, and MIA.?????? or is that just me???

    she’s totally ripping off M.I.A.

  18. Jorie says:

Can someone PLEASE put a pair of pants on Beyonce??!! Yes, we all know she has nice legs, but my god I’m so sick of looking at them!!!!

  19. joelle says:

Wow. Not only is the song terrible, but I cant believe Lady Gaga wasted her time making this lame ass video. Her videos are always amazing. Even her costume is bad. But Beyonce’s are hideous.

  20. Smoo says:

I don’t think you give GaGa enough credit in general Trent. Her songs have all hit top 10 and she’s been selling out everywhere, writes her own music AND she sings live. Somebody like Kylie Minogue doesn’t have as strong of a voice nor writes her own music. And Britney…hahaha. I love her as much as the next gay but lets be honest here. Talent, mind, and soul…Gaga over brit brit

    • @Smoo — It’s not about credit, it’s about personal taste. I never said she is unpopular, because clearly she is very popular, I just contend that her music has yet to impress me. I credit Gaga for her tireless efforts for equal rights and I applaud her for that. But until she starts putting out solid music that *I* like, I cannot call myself a fan.
