‘Twilight’: The Heroin Hits The Streets Of NYC
For some, the addiction to 'Twilight' is getting really severe

Just when you thought that the world has reached its limit on Twilight merchandise, another new Twilight item comes along … but in this case, the merch is unauthorized and extremely illegal. For the past few months, dime bags of Twilight heroin have been available for sale in NYC:

Here’s the kind of “Twilight” merchandise you really don’t want your kids getting their hands on — baggies of heroin with a cartoon of Rob Pattinson’s face printed on them. DEA Special Agent Erin McKenzie-Mulvey tells us the heroin baggies with “Twilight” characters were seized recently in West Hempstead, Long Island. The “Twilight”-themed baggies have been gaining popularity over the last couple of months. New York Special Agent in Charge John Gilbride tells TMZ a dime bag of heroin in New York is cheaper than a six pack of beer.

Damn, that’s some dark shizz right there. What kind of person would actually prefer Twilight heroin over regular heroin … wait a minute, forget I asked, I don’t really want to know. This kind of thing is so sick … but not new at all. I recall from my younger days hearing that ecstasy pills were emblazoned with popular characters of the day … like Pikachu the Pokémon, the various Teletubbies and other like characters. I assume this is meant to appeal to kids, which is just effed up beyond belief. This Twilight heroin stuff is just … wrong. What the hell is wrong with people? Besides, that cartoon of Edward Cullen looks nothing like him! WTF?

This is crazy!!! I use to live in West Hempstead NY!
I cant believe people tried to sell Heroin with Twilight to make it more appealing …sick!

  2. robin says:

what heroin user watches movies or reads books?? aren’t they a little too busy doing drugs to participate?

  3. roxster says:

Are they legitimately saying thats a picture of Edward Cullen/Robert Pattinson? Its so far off its just like those random perfumes that slap the word “twilight” and a generic pic on the bottle to lure in tweens. Honestly, I’m not surprised this is going on. They did throw in that lovely cheestastic “you’re like my own presonal brand of heroin” line in the first movie.

Trent, yup i too remember the “X” pills with pokemon. I had to have a sit down with my pokemon obsessed son at the time. Its really sad how far people will go to get our youth on drugs. these kids will one day rule our country, and we really need them to have all their brain cells.

  5. nicole says:

i guess its true…everyones really tryin to cash in on twilight

  6. krystal says:

yikes! even the baddies wana ride on the Twilight coat-tail! anyhoo..Trent..didja mean “wait a minute” and not “WHAT a minute?” lol! =)

  7. Danny says:

This proves that all Twilight fans are drug addicts lol jk

  8. Katie says:

I’m surprised it said that a dimebag of heroin is cheaper than a six pack…I always thought heroin was crazy expensive…but then again a six pack in NY is probably the price of a small car here in VA.

  9. TVKimmy says:

Going back even farther, because I’m old, I remember sheets of acid with the Simpsons and Beavis and Butthead on them. Seriously. That’s just ridiculous.

lol – And here I thought they only drank the Kool-Aid.

Supply and demand. Heroin, for whatever reason, has become in vogue again. Around Chicago the kids in the suburbs have been playing that dangerous game for quite awhile now. Never understood it’s appeal.

Hi Trent, you mentioned the ecstacy pills with teletubbies and pikachu on them, and please let me clarify the horror for you. They are NOT targeted at small kids at all, they are for the club kids and ravers; I know, because back in the day I was one (you and I are the same age). The pictures on the pills indicate what type of ecstacy it was: the warm, fuzzy characters mean the MDMA would make you feel ‘warm & fuzzy’, and in contrast, a Mitsubishi or any fast car symbol would mean the ecstacy was made a little more speedy. Noone I came in contact with would ever try to sell x to a kid. Ecstacy is still used for people with PTSD (war vets & rape victims) because it helps people open up, and it gets an unjust bad rap. Hope this clarifies a bit.

  12. Jill says:

also, ecstacy is nothing like heroin; that twilight heroin is MESSED up and it doesn’t look like Edward at all!

  13. Leah says:

Well, in the book, Edward lovingly compares Bella to heroin, so it’s not too much of a stretch…

  14. greer says:

@ jill ectasy is nothing like heroin and gets an unjust bad rap? whatever! all drugs when abused are not exactly good for you now are they?each to thier own i say and all things in moderation..just cant stand when people try and say its ok to take this drug but but not this drug, because it happens to be thier own personal preference.

  15. Mimi says:

The use of the Twilight stamp has less to do with appealing to youngsters (although it certainly can) and more to do with reflecting new phenomena in American culture. In the same respect as Pokemon E pills and sheets of acid bearing Simpson’s or Spiderman logos, heroin mills often use movie titles for branding (almost immediately at the same time as film release) like Hangovers, Secret Window, or Drag me to hell. At the time of Michael Jackson’s death there were a number of stamp bags with his face on it or Beat It. When our current president was elected, there was an influx of Obama stamps and My President is Black. Not to mention Twitter, Facebook…the list goes on and on.

  16. laurel says:

oh please. we don’t give a shit what the brand is as long as it’s dope. failing the logic of that, the only people copping these bags from the streets in the first place will be those already looking for heroin. mimi was completely spot on in regards to the marketing of illegal product and its reflection on culture. greer, too made an excellent point.

as for the other posts with a shocking lack of insight and intelligence, well. no one is trying to get anyone on drugs, for the record. especially not your undereducated children. that’s how people get arrested. second, heroin has no impact on one’s brain cells. unlike its totally legal and much more destructive cousin alcohol. third, the “drug addicts are stupid” platitude is old, inaccurate, and ignorant. lay off, smarten up, and read a fucking book. better yet, see if you can actually hold down a conversation with any of the brilliant junkies out there. being ill does not make you an idiot.
