Tori Amos Releases New Promo Photos From ‘Midwinter Graces’
Mother Nature

On Tuesday, Tori Amos released her first ever holiday album titled Midwinter Graces (which you can stream online in full HERE) and today we get to check out the new promo photos that are included in the album’s liner notes:

Having listened to the album quite a few times since it became available online and after purchasing it myself, I feel that I need to insist that any and all Tori Amos fans immediately rush out and buy this album if you have not yet done so. Pay no mind to the fact that the album is a “holiday album”, each of the songs has been reworked or is an original composition that is distinctly Tori Amos. In all honesty, this is one of THE best albums Tori has released in many years. The orchestration and performance on the disc hearkens back to Tori‘s early days of music-making while still feeling fresh and new. I’ve been listening to the album almost non-stop since I got my hands on it, and I hate Xmas music. If for nothing else, the album is a must own considering it features Tori‘s dauther Natashya Lórien singing with Tori on the song Holly, Ivy and Rose — the song is just so beautiful! After the jump, check out the rest of the promo photos featured in the liner notes of Midwinter Graces

My fear is that people who do not like Xmas music will overlook this album … and that would be a big mistake. Tori sounds glorious on this album and it is a MUST OWN for even the most casual Tori Amos fan. I’m not sure if this album is a taste of what her next album might sound like but if future Tori albums have this same feel, I think fans will be very, very happy with the results. Do any of y’all have this album yet? What do y’all think?

I got the album yesterday and I LOVE it! I agree that this is some of Tori’s best work in a few years. A few of the songs have brought tears to my eyes, especially the one where she sings with her daughter, Holly, Ivy and Rose. I love that the album can be enjoyed and appreciated by christians and non-christians alike.

Thank you, Trent for keeping up the info on Tori. She has been my favorite for ages and I am pleased to see her on your blog.

I must say I was hesitant about picking this album up, I hate holiday music with a passion, but now I will get it. I was wondering what others thought about it. Good to know.

    Hey Trent!
I’m so glad you’re giving this album some love- it is SO amazing and such a tremendous cleansing of the Tori-palate.
When I first heard about Midwinter Graces, I was reminded of the first time I heard her version of “have yourself a merry little christmas” years ago and thinking “her version of this song is one of the saddest things I’ve ever heard!”
I was so happy to listen to this whole ALBUM dedicated to seasonal music and SMILE the whole time!
    I am in HEAVEN!
