Ugggh you can run but you can’t hide forever. He should just come clean with what happened and talk about it and then all the speculation and gossip will come to an end. If she beat him down – sorry, she deserves to face what comes with that. Domestic Battery isn’t just a man on woman crime… you do the crime – gotta do the time or face up to what you’ve done. I think he’s gonna hide out til the cuts etc are healed & then act like nothing happened at all.

Where is everyone getting that his wife “scratched him and chased him down with a golf club”?? I think that the media described his injuries as “scratches”…which gives the impression that a woman did it, but no witnesses have said anything about her chasing him down. Their use of the word “scratches” set off all of this speculation, IMO. However, other reports I have read say that he had CUTS on the inside of both of his lips (consistent with someone who bites their lip in an accident). He was left unconcious, so clearly he hit the fire hydrant and tree with a lot of force. Why people are so excited to paint the injuries as “scratches” instead of the cuts that they are, it just seems like people are trying to force a narrative that isn’t there. There aren’t facts that support the idea that this was a husband beating, only rampant speculation. And I agree it was private property…he lives in a gated community, so it isn’t a public road, it is owned by the community.

Um, I thought he ended up in his neighbor’s driveway? And he mowed down a fire hydrant, which would not be considered private property. And who says the police are just looking for info on the car accident? In the state of Florida, authorities can lay charges of domestic violence, even if the victim does not want to press charges. Things that make you go hmmmm……

Realy need to respect their privacy, it’s none of anyone’s business. What if everything that happened at your house was reported in the mainstream media???

It’s too bad that he has to pull out of his own golf tournament because of this though.

I want to repeat a VERY good point made on the Today show – if there was ANY chance a MAN had hit or scratched his wife and chased her down with a golf club, EVERYONE would want the police to follow up on the domestic issue. It should be no different if there is suspicion of the reverse…the woman beating the man.

Erin~ That was what I was thinking. Wasn’t he on private property? If so, the police really have nothing to ask about the matter. Leave him alone, he has a right to privacy. He has lawyers, and they’re obviously telling him that he doesn’t have to talk about anything.

I’m pretty sure that legally he is only required to provide information pertaining to his identification – i.e. license, registration, insurance card – which he did provide through his attorney. Since it was determined at the scene that he was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs and the accident took place on his own property and did not involve any other cars, etc., there isn’t really much for the police to do.

However, there is obviously more to the story than Tiger and his family want to share with the public, so here’s hoping that whatever it is they work it out peacefully & privately ASAP.

I’m not going to jump on the allegations going around. He’s always been a private person and he’s not legally required to reveal anything. But honestly if the situation was reversed, the main reaction won’t be this is a private affair lets leave the supposed abused wife alone. The police has to at least get an idea of what happened.

Um, Katie, if you truly believe that anyone IN ANY CIRCUMSTANCE should ALWAYS cooperate with the police, you are very, very naive. And obviously not a lawyer or involved in law enforcement. It’s kind of cute, though.

IMO- it is his life, in his driveway. Everyone should leave him alone and stop jumping to conclusions that they then assume must be true in the absence of a contradiction. Accept this- you know NOTHING. Move on.

I think it is possible that the police are acting out of line (all sorts of people make money from tabloids, see Sarah Jessica Parker surrogate mother situation!). The first responders reached the conclusion that he was not under the influence. It is not a crime to leave your home late at night. I just don’t really see what they need to question him about…it seems almost like the police are following the media’s lead. If something was amiss at the time of the accident, one of the many police officers at the scene should have followed up then, not days later. And why are they sending state troopers instead of city police? Jurisdictionally, that seems very odd. I just really feel like people are making WAY too big a deal out of this. Why does he need to expose his private business just to entertain the masses?

I really dislike what he is doing. He is idolized by many kids, and his actions are showing that it is ok to not cooperate with the police.
In any circumstance, even if you are a celebrity and trying to protect your privacy, you should always cooperate with the police.

I think it is pretty sad that people are jumping to conclusions and winding up at “abused husband”. Something odd went down, but really it is none of our business. Couples fight all of the time, and if he left a heated argument, that is not really our business. If a law was broken, then things need to be looked into, but I think that time has passed. Unless he was under the influence of illegal drugs or alcohol at the time of his accident, this isn’t a criminal matter. They police concluded at the accident that he was sober, so I don’t really see how this should involve the public from here on out. People just being nosey, IMO.

I hope he gets his house in order. Unless he wants to be the poster boy for abused husbands (or whatever really went down), I hope he gets the chance to settle his domestic probs in private.
