Tiger Woods Issues A Statement Regarding His Car Accident Drama
"This situation is my fault, and it's obviously embarrassing to my family and me"

As you may have heard, pro golfer Tiger Woods got himself into a pretty nasty car accident in the wee hours on Friday morning after he reportedly got into an argument with his wife Elin Nordegren over alleged reports that he was cheating on her with a woman named Rachel Uchitel … then came the car accident, then came the drama. Yesterday, Tiger posted an official statement on his official website in response to the swirling drama caused by his accident, it reads:

As you all know, I had a single-car accident earlier this week, and sustained some injuries. I have some cuts, bruising and right now I’m pretty sore.

This situation is my fault, and it’s obviously embarrassing to my family and me. I’m human and I’m not perfect. I will certainly make sure this doesn’t happen again.

This is a private matter and I want to keep it that way. Although I understand there is curiosity, the many false, unfounded and malicious rumors that are currently circulating about my family and me are irresponsible.

The only person responsible for the accident is me. My wife, Elin, acted courageously when she saw I was hurt and in trouble. She was the first person to help me. Any other assertion is absolutely false.

This incident has been stressful and very difficult for Elin, our family and me. I appreciate all the concern and well wishes that we have received. But, I would also ask for some understanding that my family and I deserve some privacy no matter how intrusive some people can be.

Yeah, no … I do not believe for a second that his wife is innocent in all of this. To be clear, this is my personal opinion but it really does sound like the sequence of events was Argument (where Tiger‘s face got scratched BEFORE his car accident, after all there was no blood found on the steering wheel of his car and yet his face was scratched up), Accident (where he drove first into a fire hydrant and then into a neighbor’s tree … as if he was trying to get the hell away from his wife) and then Drama (neither Tiger nor his wife will talk to police, he turned them away 3 times since the accident). I understand the police are even investigating securing a warrant to search the Woods‘ house for evidence cuz neither Tiger nor Elin will talk. Why won’t they talk to police??? My guess is he’s gonna do everything he can to brush this drama under the rug … we’ll have to see if the police will work hard enough and do what is necessary to get the truth out of the Woods couple. DRAMA!!!!! What do y’all think … do you, unlike me, believe it really was all Tiger‘s fault and no one else’s?

  2. Meghan says:

If Elin did indeed cause the scratches to Tiger’s face and case him with a golf club, then she should be arrested for domestic violence. Sounds like Tiger is covering for his wife. No matter what he did, she is not allowed to attack him!

  3. Lauren says:

I agree with you Trent. Something isn’t adding up. His wife went crazy and now they want to cover it all up. I hope that the police do get a search warrent and uncover the truth. If they didn’t have anything to hide then they would have talked to the police. B*tch is crazy and you can’t hide that for long!

  4. Cicci says:

Um..I actually belive it’s his fault entirely; I belive he was raving drunk, had an argument with his wife and did as so many do – storm out and drove away. Although he didn’t come very far:)

If I was under the threat of DUI – accusations, I would also delay my appointment with authorities as long as I could.

  5. Laure75 says:

Leave them alone! it seems to me it is between them, and no-one else! why is the police meddling into this? If HE doesn’t want them to and SHE doesn’t either, and he pays damages to his neighbour for that tree then I really don’t see how it is anyone else’s business!!!

  6. Jadedkitten says:

He cheated she founded and beat his ass end of story.

  7. Jadedkitten says:

*Found out…….it’s too early and I clearly need more coffee

  8. Laure75 says:

And he could have scratched his face while she was pulling him out of the car – he is pretty heavy and was unconscious. Might have scratched it with some fallen branches of that tree.
Or scratched his face earlier in the day, who knows??! and whose business is it??

    • @Laure75 — “whose business is it??” Well, it’s the police’s business to find out if this was a matter of domestic violence. You can’t seriously believe that an allegation of domestic violence should not be investigated no matter that the couple wants to keep the matter private.

  9. Meghan says:

If it was Tiger who had scratched and beat up his wife, I doubt there would be so many saying it is a “private” matter. Women can also be abusive and should be treated equally in the eyes of the law.

  10. Mr. Gyllenhaal says:

I think they fought and he was drunk and hit the tree! I am sure there is more to the store thou!!!

  11. C says:

Yea i’m with everyone, this is a very fishy story. I think they fought, she scratched him, he was either impaired with alcohol or perhaps pain meds and maybe she was chasing him and thats what cause him to swerve…I would like to know where there kids were when this was taking place, the argument and the accident…if there really was an altercation no matter how provoked on either side, the kids well beings are in danger.

  12. Lori says:

When taken to er they draw tox and etoh screen.part of uncoscious victim protocol. He was not drunk. He was unconscious so protocol dictates head ct to rule out bleed. If negative he is discharged home…which he was. If he had been over the limit…there would already b a DUI charge.privacy laws do not extend to driving under the influence.

  13. Siobhan says:

I think they more care about whether he was intoxicated in some way, be it alcohol or pain pills. If they are really only investigating because they think it might be domestic violence, well, I think they should just move on. Neither he nor his wife want to talk about it so chances are charges won’t be filed unless there is clear evidence of domestic violence and they want to proceed without cooperation. I can’t help but to think they are making a huge deal out of this because he is Tiger Woods.

  14. Heather says:

LOL Lauren: can’t hide a crazy b*tch for long! ha!
Tiger is kind of a prick. However, having worked at a celebrity pro-am event he played, I can’t imagine what life must be like for him. It only took a few holes before hundreds of people had surrounded him. I’d probably be a prick, too.
However, he’s not above the law. To those who question why he can’t just be left alone – would the cops leave YOU alone if you wrecked your car and took out a fire hydrant and your neighbor’s tree at 2 am? He’s not above the law.

  15. Laura says:

He wasn’t drunk, police have already said alcohol wasn’t a factor.

  16. SuziLee says:

I def think something fishy happened. The whole scratches thing – yet no blood on the steering wheel and ummm if you need to get someone out of the car quickly – you don’t bash in the back window. You would do the passenger side window… you’d bash in the back window if you were chasing a car…. Just sayin’… They should just come clean w/what happened. I don’t think a woman should get away any easier from domestic violence than a man.

  17. Sweet_Lady says:

if the tabloids are correct, they fought over the fact that he cheated and she went nuts on him with the golf club.

  18. Kendra says:

@Meghan & SuziLee – I totally agree..I’ve actually read people’s comments saying that if it was their husband, they’d beat him up, too! If a man said that about his wife, people would jump all over him!! If she DID attack him, she needs to face the consequences..I think the whole situation is unfortunate for everyone involved and I hope that, in the end, justice is served, no matter what the outcome..

  19. Ama says:

    While I dislike people who cheat with a passion, if his wife did indeed abuse him for it. I believe that she should be punished. That being said, I believe that Mr. Woods and his wife are saying this now, and not talking to the police because they don’t want their children to have to deal with the after effect of their actions. They probably want their children to stay innocent to this whole ordeal. Which is why they are trying to quickly get it out of the news(If the police dig into it, it can be in the news for a long period of time.) I don’t know really -_-;
    * * *
I think everyone involved in this event can take fault to it happening. But it’s done, it already happened, no one can change that. Now all that is left is for them to pick up the pieces and to hopefully fix the problem so it doesn’t happen again.

  20. AmyM says:

i still get the giggles thinking about you saying “Lawd. Drama.” on your previous posting about this story, Trent. I laughed my butt off!
Hope these people talk to the police and get their shiz together. domestic abuse madness must end!
