Tiger Woods Issues A Statement Regarding His Car Accident Drama
"This situation is my fault, and it's obviously embarrassing to my family and me"

As you may have heard, pro golfer Tiger Woods got himself into a pretty nasty car accident in the wee hours on Friday morning after he reportedly got into an argument with his wife Elin Nordegren over alleged reports that he was cheating on her with a woman named Rachel Uchitel … then came the car accident, then came the drama. Yesterday, Tiger posted an official statement on his official website in response to the swirling drama caused by his accident, it reads:


As you all know, I had a single-car accident earlier this week, and sustained some injuries. I have some cuts, bruising and right now I’m pretty sore.

This situation is my fault, and it’s obviously embarrassing to my family and me. I’m human and I’m not perfect. I will certainly make sure this doesn’t happen again.

This is a private matter and I want to keep it that way. Although I understand there is curiosity, the many false, unfounded and malicious rumors that are currently circulating about my family and me are irresponsible.

The only person responsible for the accident is me. My wife, Elin, acted courageously when she saw I was hurt and in trouble. She was the first person to help me. Any other assertion is absolutely false.

This incident has been stressful and very difficult for Elin, our family and me. I appreciate all the concern and well wishes that we have received. But, I would also ask for some understanding that my family and I deserve some privacy no matter how intrusive some people can be.

Yeah, no … I do not believe for a second that his wife is innocent in all of this. To be clear, this is my personal opinion but it really does sound like the sequence of events was Argument (where Tiger‘s face got scratched BEFORE his car accident, after all there was no blood found on the steering wheel of his car and yet his face was scratched up), Accident (where he drove first into a fire hydrant and then into a neighbor’s tree … as if he was trying to get the hell away from his wife) and then Drama (neither Tiger nor his wife will talk to police, he turned them away 3 times since the accident). I understand the police are even investigating securing a warrant to search the Woods‘ house for evidence cuz neither Tiger nor Elin will talk. Why won’t they talk to police??? My guess is he’s gonna do everything he can to brush this drama under the rug … we’ll have to see if the police will work hard enough and do what is necessary to get the truth out of the Woods couple. DRAMA!!!!! What do y’all think … do you, unlike me, believe it really was all Tiger‘s fault and no one else’s?

    What about the idea that they are trying to keep quiet because maybe he did cheat and is trying to keep his fan base and keep his wife out of trouble. Another possibility. I just hope lessons are learned no matter what the case may be.

    The police do need to get to the bottom of this – and they definitely have the right to – b/c if it is a case of domestic violence, the safety and welfare of the children need to be addressed. What if the police did ignore this and next month we read that the wife went crazy b/c of the cheating allegations and committed murder/suicide? Then everyone would be on the police for not preventing it when there were obvious signs of trouble.

    I say butt the hell out. The police dont need to get involved as it is a personal matter. no one was hurt, and it isnt drug or alcohol related. All these gossipmongers out there will take a situation that doesn’t concern them and run it into the ground hurting people they don’t even KNOW. Is tiger your friend? Is Elin your sister? Are their kids deserving of the trash talk from people who can’t and won’t ever know the stress they live under every day? Mind your own damn business, and find something else to talk shit about.

    He’s not talking because he’s not required to – 5th Amendment – and his lawyer almost definitely has advised him not to. Police cannot force him to talk, nor can they force her to talk.

    They also cannot get a search warrant for the house without probable cause that a crime was committed there or evidence relating to a crime is being stored there. Based on what I’ve heard in the media, they don’t have anywhere near enough facts to establish the legal standard for probable cause.

    I understand everyone’s concern that police “get to the bottom of this,” but there are due process and civil rights issues which dictate the procedure. A “hunch” or “instinct” isn’t going to cut it. Without more than they have now (as it has been released to the media), it is very unlikely any charges will be or should be filed.

    Look….Tiger has done what he is required to do legally which is show his license, registration, and proof of insurance. He’s done that and that should end the need for police involvement.

    However, as the world’s biggest athlete and in this age of twitter, internet, 24 hour news cycle, and intense paparazzi he has to understand that the story is fishy, particularly coming off the heels of the National Enquirer story. The fact that the woman he is alleged to have had an affair with is now tied up with Gloria Allred only adds to the trashiness of it all. Tiger’s silence only raises more questions and he must realize that. But we the curious bystanders must also realize that he doesn’t have to explain anything if he doesn’t want to. Thats his right. It will continue to cause us to speculate and come to our own conclusions but so what. People are gonna talk.

    Tiger is embarassed that he got his ass beat by his wife. He left the house with no shoes on, which in the state of Florida it is illeagal to drive without shoes. I understand he has a fifth amendment right, but noone, man or woman should feel embarassed to have been beaten and hide the fact/or make accuses for their attacker. Rhianna leaving Chris Brown made a huge impact this year for women who are/were being beaten. She left the situation and was given respect for it. Tiger needs to grow a pair of balls, instead of hitting them on the golf course and stand up for himself, and other men that fall prey to abusive women and take a stand. It is not only women that get beaten, there are many men that are brutally beaten by women, but there is more of a shame factor when the roles are reversed so the later is less known.

    the truth – his wife confronted about his affair on thanksgiving night they got in an argument she was chasing him with the golf club when got in the car and speed off. She followed him down the drive he hit the tree and she knocked out the back window. The lacerations on his face were caused by her while they were still in the house.
