The Visitors Have Arrived . . . Again
Yesterday was a very quiet day for David and me … since The Turtle Party: Book Club meeting was postponed to Sunday, we found ourselves with a free day. I spent much of it reading and lounging around … and last night was spent in front of the TV along with almost 14,000,000 other folks watching the series premiere of V on ABC:

Earlier this year I blogged my love for the original V miniseries that aired back in the 80’s so I have been anxiously awaiting the premiere of the new version. Some very special friends of mine got me a copy of last night’s pilot episode on DVD for my birthday back in July so I was already well aware of how awesome the new series is … and now all y’all know too. I thought the pilot got things off to a great start … I can’t wait to see more.
I’m not the only V fan around here you know … Pink reader Philip sent in pics of his Hallowe’en costume this year where he dressed up as a Visitor circa 1985:

Isn’t this a rad costume? I love it!! I’m sure many of y’all enjoyed the ep last night as well … here’s hoping it turns out to be a huge smash success!
Tonight, David and I have plans to attend an event in Beverly Hills, CA … we’ll see if we actually make it out to the event or if our laziness will win out. If we do go, tho, I should have fun pics to share tomorrow ;)

I missed the original version and I am still trying to figure out why. However, I saw the new version last night and my attention is captured though I sorta guessed correctly who was for and against.
But, it’s on.

Ugh. This show was absolutely terrible. Good concept ruined by terrible acting and a cheesy script.

I actually really liked it last night! I am curious to see where they go with the premise. This can either ruin the show by dragging it out or it is going to go way off tilt and make the show shitty like Heroes! I enjoyed last night thou!!

I too was very excited to see V return to TV…but I was a bit disappointed by the pilot. I kind of feel like the show hurried past the “OMG we aren’t alone in the universe…wow! Now what’s the deal with the ginormous ships all over the world and who are these beings in the ships?” thing. What could have easily taken 1-2 hours to show instead was rushed through in 5-10 minutes. The ending was pretty decent though and gives hope. I love Elizabeth Mitchell and I really want to like the show, so I will give it a few more chances. After all it isn’t total torture having to watch a show with Morena Baccarin in it ;)

Ummm…anyone not pick up on how Phillip looks like Adrian Pasdar!? Trent your readers are always so good looking!

Ugh, I’m so old and jaded. Every time someone decides to remake a series that I remember from 25 years ago I get acid reflux. However, I must agree, that’s a very cool costume. I like the scaly look around the eye.

I really liked it, but I agree that they rushed into revealing that the Visitors are not here for peace.
They could have spread that out and did more character development in the first few eps.
Sure, we all know the V are evil, but they could have pretended we didn’t

I love aliens. Am I the only nerd that used to watch the Roswell show on the WB? God I love it lol.
