‘The Twilight Saga’s Christian Serratos Gets Nekkid For PETA
Barely there

Christian Serratos, who plays the bespectacled and mousy Angela in the Twilight films, is featured in a new anti-fur ad for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. In their latest, I’d Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur campaign, Serratos sheds her mousy Twilight image in order to inspire folks to not wear fur … behold:

As one of the stars of the Twilight Saga, Christian Serratos is used to working with vampires and the nonliving—but she would never wear anything dead. Christian strips down for PETA in the name of animals and is telling her fans, “I’d Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur.” Each year millions of animals are killed for their fur. Rabbits, foxes, minks, dogs, cats, chinchillas, and other animals are bludgeoned, strangled, drowned, poisoned, stomped to death, or electrocuted, or they have their necks broken, all in the name of fashion. Many are even skinned alive. In the wild, animals can suffer for days in steel-jaw traps before they are killed. Animals raised on fur farms spend their whole miserable existence in tiny, wire cages where they are exposed to all weather extremes. Christian, who also posed for PETA’s “Save the Seals” celebrity ad series, told us, “I’ve always been opposed to slaughtering, eating, wearing carcass.” Check out behind-the-scenes footage from Christian’s photo shoot and find out what else she has to say about animal rights.

Um, wow. I had a very hard time recognizing Serratos in this photo. She looks so … different in the Twilight films. After the jump, check out the uncensored NSFW version of this image and watch a short video of Christian Serratos declaring her distaste for animal cruelty …

Here is Christian‘s PETA video:

You gotta respect a young woman who stands up for her beliefs … even if that includes stripping down. I wonder if any of the other Twilight castmembers would be willing to go nekkid for Peta. Kellan Lutz? One or all of the werewolves? Perhaps Christian Serratos‘s commitment to PETA will rub off on her other castmembers. Here’s hoping they do … you know, for the animals.

I know Peta has a bad reputation but seriously although I think some of their methods are quite extreme, they get things done.
Speaking of animal cruelty, I wish people would please, just get a conscience. But it seems so hard to change the world nowadays cos the demand will always fucking be there and sadistic countries like China will always be supplying dead animals for money. I wish more people with power would step up and do something to help the animals.

I dont agree with animal cruelty at all, nor do i agree with animals still being killed for their fur when we are in 2009!
However i do own a real fur coat! Its been in the family for years.
I also eat meat, and wear leather. I dont think this makes me a bad person, because like i said i dont agree with animal cruelty or animals being killed for fashion.
This might make me a hipocrite but im being honest.
Im an animal lover and have 2 cats.

  3. Tracy says:

I dont wear fur because I think it is HIDEOUS.

  4. Lisa says:

That video is sad.. I started to tear up a little bit.. those poor animals..

Rossy, I think you are confusing pornographic with nudity. There is no clear definition for pornography, it is really a subjective issue, and I find many of PETA’s marketing strategies to be offense and insensitive to women. While I know these women complied to displaying theirselves as so, that doesn’t mean I agreed with their decisions either. I don’t understand what half-naked women with their legs spread around a giant stirring pot of vegetables in dim lighting has to do with the cause for vegetarianism? Eating veggies is hot? Not really. And in this case, what do millions of needlessly dying animals annually have to do with some Nickelodeon star’s ass? It is irrelevant and a cheap way to get attention, frankly a demeaning way that occurs all too often because hey, unfortunately, sex sells. That doesn’t mean objectifying women is a good thing. Does capitalism really run our lives that much, that it justifies behaviors (the objectifying of women) that lead to awful behaviors such as rape? I will not support any organization that does so, and on top of PETA’s rediculous claims they care for animals when they euthenize any animal that cannot continue in some kind of PETA-realized perfect existance (in the case of the baby bear), I will refuse to support PETA even more strongly.

Treat animals like more than a “piece of meat”? Yeah, tell that to a feminist and she’ll show you who is being objectified as a “piece of meat” in today’s society.

Jessica, I totally agree with you on this topic! I can’t say it any better than you just did!

  7. Samantha says:

Agree with Jessica, PETA’s advertising campaigns disgust me because of how they objectify women.

  8. Jospeh Hanner says:

I don’t understand how PETA objectives women? I am an avid PETA supporter, and always will be. PETA does campaigns where its I’d Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur. They don’t pick and choose models. Anyone could do a campaign like that, even men. It just so happens that women volunteer more and are the majority. Kudos to PETA, and thanks for making the world a better place when it comes to animal abuse.
