Taylor Lautner Talks About How ‘Weird’ It Is To Date Someone With The Same Name
Taylor Lautner sat down with Extra! TV to talk about his upcoming new sequel film The Twilight Saga: New Moon and was asked about his relationship with Taylor Swift. Lautner admitted to Extra! that he finds it “confusing” and “weird” to be involved with someone who shares his name … but methinks it’s not “confusing” or “weird” enough to make him stop ;) Lautner also talks about the prospect of him stripping down to do that nude scene in fourth installment of The Twilight Saga … read on to find out what he has to say about that:
Taylor Lautner has been cozying up to Taylor Swift, and he tells “Extra” that it’s kind of funny dating somebody with the same name. “It gets confusing definitely,” Lautner, 17, told “Extra’s” Mario Lopez at the “New Moon” (out Nov. 20) junket Friday. “And it’s weird calling somebody your name.” Lautner’s character, werewolf Jacob, has a nude scene in the fourth book, “Breaking Dawn.” Would Lautner be open to stripping down? “I don’t think the fans or the studio would be open to it, so I don’t even really need to think about it,” says Lautner, adding that although the movie hasn’t been officially announced, he’s “just waiting to hear.” On Saturday, Swift, 19, winked and blew a kiss to Lautner during her opening monologue. (She also skewered ex-beau Joe Jonas and Kanye West. Watch here.) In an interview that aired last week on CMT Radio, Swift said she thinks Lautner is “an amazing guy.” “We’re really close… and ah…. yep… and we’re in a movie together and I am really excited about seeing it,” she continued. Their romantic comedy, “Valentine’s Day,” hits theaters in February.
The bit about sharing the same name with Taylor Swift is really cute … too damn cute, if you ask me. Regarding that nude scene in Breaking Dawn, well, Lautner may be right to say that the studio may not be into it but I’m pretty sure the fans would DEFFO be into a Jacob Black nude scene. With the way Summit Entertainment has been happy to exploit every possible way to make money from The Twilight Saga franchise, I wouldn’t put it past them. You never know … dreams really do come true sometimes.

Well, isn’t this interesting? At first, I thought it wasn’t a publicity stunt whatsoever but now I’m starting to think it is. Not really sure why but I kind of have a feeling. I mean, her album just launched and the Twilight campaign is coming up and press is press. Of course, these two don’t really need the press to be successful but still. And they have a movie coming out in February. They’re both extremely popular with the whole tween craze right now. It makes sense. HMMM!

So hes finally admitting it? Not like we needed one of them to. But he and Selena Gomez never addressed their thing, so this is sort of interesting. Her shout out to him in the monologue was cute, so I guess this admission shouldn’t be a surprise. I’m not sure I get the “confusing” aspect, except for maybe when someone is calling out to one of them….but then thats like having a friend with the same name. lol.

Well, they’re both adorable…and honestly, I would think that if they do decide to show a naked Jacob, they’ll probably wait until he’s officially legal. ;)

he doesn’t admit dating her here at all. the same answers could’ve been applied to asking how it feels to be friends with someone with the same name. so, who knows but i like them together either way.

Agree with maribella. For some reason, both Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner make me smile when I see them…together or separately. I’m decidedly NOT in the tween demographic, so have no idea why. I will say that “New Moon” (the book) had me get on the Team Jacob bandwagon and the movie trailer only solidified it.

I may have been clawing my eyes out at the time because I had swine flu and I’d paid money for the book (wasn’t going to waste it), but I don’t remember a nude scene.

Personally, I would HATE sharing my name with my boyfriend. Its something that is suppose to be special just for you. The confusion would drive me nuts! I already share my birthday with my boyfriend and thats bad enough!!

FYI @Trent. Summit Entertainment is a subsidary of Little Brown books that published the Twilight Saga. So it doesn’t really matter if they make book four. I’m hoping they will so that I can see a LEGAL Taylor, nekidd…

Hmm. He is definitely a cutie, but if he was a 17 year old girl who everyone was pressuring and salivating to get naked, that would clearly be inappropriate. Doesn’t it seem just a little bit wrong? His innocent youthfulness makes it completely out of bounds for me to think about. Not to be a prude, but eww. I think he and Taylorette (it worked for the smurfs!) have the same kind of innocent thing going on. I wish them the best!

@Katie-if i’m not mistaken the camp scene is in book 3. i think the nude scene in book 4 is when he breaks from the pack and can’t go home to get clothes. remember, edward laid out clothes for him, after reading his mind that he changed into wolf and had no clothes left. i can’t believe i know all this. haha
umm…i down for jake’s nude scene. he’ll be at least 18 then, so it’s ok by me. ;)
