Rihanna Promotes ‘Rated R’ In NYC
Rihanna, who’s new album Rated R was finally released on Monday, spent a bizzy night and day in NYC yesterday and today promoting that album release. Last night, she did an in-store appearance to sign copies of Rated R and this morning she performed on the Good Morning America stage … here are a few photos:

As you may recall, Ri Ri was here in SoCal to perform on the American Music Awards on Sunday night — and last week she even performed on the world’s largest cruise ship off the coast of Florida … so she is working hard to get folks interested in buying her album. I was lucky enough to get my hands on a promo copy before the album was released and while I enjoy it very much, I’m not really blown away by it. Have any of y’all bought the album yet? Do you love it? Hate it? Is any of this promo gettin’ you interested in picking up Rated R?

I hate the hair. Love the voice, though.

I totally forgot that artists even do record signings anymore! I have a feeling that this album is going to flop.

My review is the same as yours. It’s decent but it’s not spectacular. It’s really dark compared to her other LPs. I’ll be curious to see which other songs she releases as singles. There aren’t too many strong, single-worthy songs on this album. My opinion, of course. Regardless, I still live my Rihanna!

the issue i have with this album, is shes all of a sudden gone gangster..like the song G4L. i cant take her seriously at all. im all for artist taking new turns with thier careers, but it just come off as fake.

I LOVE IT! G4L and Photographs are so awesome. I walk around muttering about how I lick the gun when I’m done and its completely inappropriate but I do not care! GO RI RI! She is so beautiful and the definition of fierce. I think the most important thing to remember though is that she is an artist and not just a commercial machine cranking out hits. She did this album for HERSELF just like Kelly Clarkson did My December, because they needed to do it, it meant something to them, it was the piece of art they had to expel. They don’t care if we like it or not.

I LOVE the album…No, it’s not as catchy as Good Girl Gone Bad but it’s still an awesome album. I love pretty much all of the songs on it. Her voice sounds better than ever on this album.

I love her voice but my gosh…that hair color. It’s like something an old lady would color her hair, yuck, I liked it so much better black.
