Yesterday was such an amazing day … I can’t even fully express … but I’m gonna do my best to share the fun with all y’all. David and I spent much of the day/night on the Santa Monica Pier enjoying the cloudy and cool weather. We got to the pier early enough so that I could run around taking Polaroid photos but the main attraction was our double date with Darion and Cameron to see the new Cirque du Soleil show KOOZÅ:

The folks over at Cirque du Soleil have always been so fantastic to David and me and last night was no exception. We were kindly invited to see their new show, KOOZÅ, which is performing daily at the Santa Monica Pier thru December 20. If you are at all familiar with Cirque shows, you know they are all fantastic … if you are not familiar, you need to see a show IMMEDIATELY … and KOOZÅ would be a great first show to see. The show has a circus feel to it but for the most part it’s all about acrobatics … I’m not even lying, we all spent much of our time Ooohing and Ahhhing out loud thru out the show. It just kept getting better and better. I’ve seen a few Cirque shows and I can happily declare that KOOZÅ is among my all-time faves. After the jump, check out a short video trailer for KOOZÅ to get a taste of what the show’s all about and see a whole bunch of cool photos that I snapped on the pier yesterday afternoon …
Believe me, this video DOES NOT do the show justice … you really have to see it live to get the full effect.

Much much love goes out to all the folks at Cirque du Soleil for taking such good care of us last night … we had a blast ;) You gotta see this show … you will LOVE it!!!
Before the show last night, tho, I managed to snap some really cool Polaroid pics all around the pier:

I think we had the most fun at the arcade … and the sunset? So beautiful:

David and I also took a fun photobooth together in my fave booth here in LA … which still shoots photos in color!!

I wanted to show off the beautiful Polaroid camera that David’s mother gave to me earlier this year. I understand it belonged to his grandmother and was used to take a lot of their family pics when they were little. His mom gave me the camera knowing my love for Polaroid photography :) I’m telling you, we had A BLAST! The Santa Monica Pier is one of my fave places in LA … I don’t think it gets enough lurve. The Pier is celebrating its 100 year anniversary this year … and it’s still as fun as ever :)
Tonight, David’s brother Aram visits us for the weekend from San Francisco, it’ll be fun to have him around. Happy Weekend, y’all!!

luved luved kooza!!! the clowns were so hilarious. the pics of you both are so cute :-)
photo booth pics are adorable!
adorable pics!
I’ve seen two shows in the past and the first one I don’t remember so much. I was young then but the second show I saw I STILL remember. It was scary and thrilling and awesome. I want to go again.
I want a Polaroid camera now.
so exciting! my husband and i just saw mystere in vegas. it was our first cirque show and it was absolutely amazing! i actually just bought tickets for their feb. show alegria here in austin. i can’t wait for that one! thanks for sharing – the pictures are fabulous!
Hope you didn’t wish to be SMALL on that Zoltar game:)!
My uncle wrote and directed Kooza! I’m so glad you liked it, and it’s great to see some pictures as I haven’t had a chance to see it yet! If only more of those shows came here to Kansas. :/
Wait until you see Love in Vegas…. which you MUST do. It will blow any other Cirque performance out of the water. I still cant beleive you have not seen Love yet
LOVE LOVE your photo booth pix! <3
Great pics Trent! Glad you two had a great night:)
Kooza is incredible. Kate, congratulations to your uncle. His storytelling is masterful and the show, mesmerizing, compelling. The best Cirque show I’ve ever seen (and I’ve been fortunate enough to have seen four now). Under the Big Top in Santa Monica is the way to see it… and for what it’s worth, I hear GoldStar has the best ticket prices.
