Well think about it. The man is obviously exhausted, he collapsed on stage and was in the hospital. But he got back as soon as he could to do his tour. He probably wasn’t feeling great and then some jerk has the audacity to throw a bottle at him. I’d say screw it too. He doesn’t work as hard as he does to be hit while he’s singing.

Arrgh this isn’t the first time I heard of an artist being hit with a bottle during a show. It really annoys me that someone would do such a thing. Why spend money to go to a show and then assault the artist? do they think that makes them cool?

The last time I went to The Casualties show, someone threw a lighter at the singer(Jorge) it cut above his eye and he was bleeding. He didn’t stop the show, however after he finished the song he was like ‘I’m sorry if you have a problem with me, but I’d appreciate if you don’t throw things like that up here’.

But it was cool because even though there was an arsehole like that in the crowd they finished their set. But it bugged me, because I wanted to grab the lighter and find the guy that threw it and throw it back in his face and see if he likes it(lol yeah, I’m somewhat childish like that ^^;) . Some people are just jerks.

I really don’t get what goes through someone’s mind when doing something like that. I don’t blame Morrissey for ending it. He has been around for a long time, the people who go to his shows should be less juvenile to commit such an act. I’m sure that’s how he felt too. Well, I hope it didn’t seriously harm him. Any sort of bottle(glass/plastic) can leave quite the impact.

WHY would someone do that?? I wonder if they did it on purpose, or if they meant to hit somewhere else….
I’d be scared to do that on purpose.. for fear that an angry mob would beat me half to death!!!

I don’t believe an artist should have to tolerate standing on a stage singing and being pelted with drinks, bottles or any other objects. He is absolutely right for walking off and ending the show. It’s great that others can let “the show go on”, but I think he should be allowed to decide not to continue. The concept that musicians or film stars should be subjected to constant scrutiny, criticism and in this case, physical abuse is kinda effed up. They deserve a little bit more respect than that and he was well within his right to not accept that type of treatment. I think it also sends a message to would-be pelters.

I don’t know, I mean I feel like I agree with Lily. I don’t blame him for being pissed and the guy who threw it is undoubtedly a dumb a**hole but “the show must go on” as they say. That is practically the number one rule of showbiz and someone in the business for so long should know that. Youtube the 2007 show where Tom Delonge got hit with a bottle. He kept on singing and the guy got kicked out. Tom refused to empower the jerk that threw the bottle and kept on doing his thing for his fans. That’s real dedication to me.

@Lily — Trust me, I’d be pissed if my show was canceled too … but Morrissey has been in this biz a long time. After a long career like his and then to be treated in this manner, I’d prolly do the same thing.

Why would anyone spend the money and then spend the time to stand in line to be sure to be up front and then do something stupid like throw a drink on effing Morrissey?? EFFING MORRISSEY!!!!! That douche should be tarred and feathered..
