Michael Lohan Releases Recorded Phone Calls With Lindsay Lohan
Michael Lohan, who in my opinion is a gross opportunist who will do anything to get attention for himself, has released an audio recording of a taped phone conversation with his daughter Lindsay Lohan for online streaming on RadarOnline. Daddy Lohan claims this recording, the first in a series he secretly taped presumably without Lindsay’s knowledge, is proof that his daughter desperately needs his help. To me, it’s proof that Lindsay needs to stop calling her father:
It’s a shocking side of actress Lindsay Lohan we’ve never heard or seen before — three minutes of a recorded audio tape revealing her heart-wrenching and desperate plea for help. The tape, obtained exclusively by RadarOnline.com, is the first of several which were recorded from phone calls Lindsay and her mom Dina made to Lindsay’s dad Michael Lohan. Lindsay’s father has been publicly saying that she needs help and is in a fragile state. He released this tape in an attempt to prove his point and to disprove those around Lindsay who are saying she’s fine. The tape reveals a tortured and inconsolable Lindsay. At times she wails and sobs uncontrollably— at others, she whimpers like a child as she complains about problems with her family and ex-girlfriend Samantha Ronson. “Mommy says that I’m worse than you were,” Lindsay can be heard crying to her dad. “And she’s defending…She doesn’t back me…she doesn’t stand by me.” Lindsay continues, “No one cares about me. They don’t, by the way. It’s about how they feel, not how I feel. It’s not about me. It’s never been about me, unless I fight for it.”
While I am solidly on Team Lindsay here, I have to admit that it is very sad to hear her in such a desperate state. Who knows what caused this breakdown but taken out of context, it could’ve come from any situation. While I agree that Lindsay could benefit greatly from the help, love and care of loved ones, I absolutely do NOT believe that “someone” should be Michael Lohan. He has proved time and time again that he will do anything to exploit his family for his own personal gain. If you are so inclined, you can hear the entire recording HERE. Say what you will about L. Lo, it’s a bit heartbreaking to hear her in this state. It’s even more disheartening to think that her father is very likely to cause for much of her desperation.

My fathers such a loser & those recordings are from years ago. To release personal things is foul enough, but to edit them. HMMM … why am I not surprised that the recordings Daddy Lohan is releasing are from the past. He just grosses me out. Sounds like Linds is rolling with the punches, as usual. I do hope she is OK.

This is so disgusting! She could have been having a bad day, week, month. We all do from time to time. As she reaches out to her dad he privaetly records her and then releases them online for the world to hear?? What a sick bastard!! I know she is in need of help but if at one point she thought her dad was there for her and reached out to him and this is what she gets…yeah, that is really going to help her! He is PATHETIC!!!

It most states it is illegal to record a phone call without prior consent. The matter falls under the provision of wiretapping laws. However, it’s a state-by-state decision.

If he really cared about her he would do what Britany’s Dad did. In private…not for everyone to see. He should NEVER put his daughters personal business out for everyone to see. Hmm. I think that he has exploited his family in the past. But it also seems to me like right now he is the only person in the world fighting to get Lindsey into treatment. It sounds like on the tape she says that her mother compared Lindsey to her father’s past addictive behavior….which is probably something that Lindsey does need to own up to. This seems like a really ungraceful attempt at tough love. I appreciate his efforts, but this probably wasn’t the best way to do it. What is the right way, though? If Lindsey was your daughter, what would you do? I honestly don’t know what I would do in that situation.

Trent it’s bad enough that Michael Lohan is doing this to his daughter, but do you think having a link to it, and in essence helping him push her even further over the edge, is the best thing. I know you are just doing your job, and that other sites are going to have it on as well, but I always think of you as better than them especially that awful Perez Hilton. I don’t have a problem with the article, but if someone really wants to hear the recording let them search for it.
Don’ t get me wrong I’m one of the people that comment about celebrities as well, and I have said some pretty harsh stuff in the past, but this just seems so wrong that I’m refusing to listen to it.

I am Team Lindsay, then and NOW. She does not deserve this. How do her parents expect her to ever get better if they treat her this way? That girl needs a lot of love, and her parents are not the people to give it to her. They are only interested in themselves and exploiting their beautiful and talented daughter to get what they want. It is pathetic. No wonder Lindsay feels so alone, she knows inside that they don’t care about her. If your own parents don’t care about you then who will? No wonder that girl is so fucked up.

So sad. Even the kids with the best parents can wind up having all sorts of issues or a tough time in life, but with parents like this the poor kid barely stood much of a chance. I heard somewhere awhile back that Dina Lohan was partying with Lindsay while she was still underage. Then she has this guy for a dad? Wow. I feel bad for her.
Maybe now that Britney is under control Jamie Spears can step in to help Lindsay.

I hate that Michael did this but if it benefits Lindsay, I’m all for it. I want Lindsay to get the help she deserves. She’s a total mess and she’s not doing anything to help herself, and neither is Dina. She could careless. Why do you think she pawned Ali off on Lindsay? Cause she doesn’t care about anything but herself. I know that Michael is doing this more for his benefit, but I have to believe that some where deep down inside of himself, he does care about his kids. It might not be the best way to help Lindsay, but it may just be the only way to get her the help she needs. I also realize it also could backfire and I hope to god it doesn’t. I hope that Linsday realizes that she needs help or she’s going to die like Health Ledger. Do we want to see another young star die like that? I sure don’t!

As Michael is so wrong let us not forget the real garbage that is Dina. If rumours are to believed she is the one supplying Lindsay with drugs and has been wh*ring her out since out she was 10. So pathetic. Michael is so out of line with this but he is obviously not smart and is cut off and my feeling is he feels it is his only plan of defense. That is SO SO SO SAD! She definitely has some inner demons that she deals with. Which makes sense why she has her addictions that she struggles with. From the things she said, it sounds like there is definitely a family history of emotional illness as well. I hope she can get the help she needs to deal with her past and get on track for a brighter future. That was just heartbreaking…. And Trent, if anything, you posting that made me feel more sympathy for her. I don’t think it was bad of you to post at all. Thanks for being my fave gossip blogger! :)

Whether you agree or disagree with what Michael Lohan has done, you’re pushing his agenda by featuring the link and doing a write up about it. I really don’t care for Lindsey Lohan or any other d-list actress who spends there time in a chemically induced stupor, wracking up DUI’s and being the example of what is wrong with Hollywood. But any press is good press, so as long as the celeb rags and our beloved gossip bloggers keep talking about their shameful expolits, they will keep doing what they do. It’s when we stop talking about them that they realize they have nothing and will hopefully seek the help they need!

My question after listening to the recording, is why wasn’t he responding? If he was, why couldn’t you hear it. It is almost as if the recording was edited in a way that it makes Lindsey sound as though she is just letting it all out and he’s just listening. The comments she makes sound as though she is responding to something being said to her. It seems to me like he has recorded this conversation, then had the recording edited to sound as though she is unstable, and is now using this to make money by selling the rights of the recording and is trying to get at Lindsey’s money. I question the entire validity of the recording.

Did not listen because I think it’s so gross that he posted it! I hope that he can and will be prosecuted. Not sure if it’s possible or not. Disgusting. If his goal is to get her into treatment, releasing it to the public doesn’t help. You take that shiz to a judge! Absolutely awful. Now I do feel sorry for Lindsay.

To all the people saying she’s an idiot for calling him, she’s not. I grew up with an emotionally abusive father, and while we’re nowhere near as close as we were when I was a kid, I still turn to him sometimes when I need someone to listen. I’m not a fan of Lindsay, but the girl doesn’t know any better. It took me ages to realize my relationship to my father wasn’t emotionally healthy, but I could never cut him out of my life completely because I still care about him. Sometimes things are going to come up that make a girl need her father, no matter how screwed up his intentions towards her are and no matter how aware of that you are. Until Lindsay can find a respectable father figure she’s going to have this sad bond with him.

This phone call actually makes me like Lindsay a whole lot more. Regardless of when the calls are from, I can relate to being so stressed out and feeling so isolated that I’ve sobbed like crazy, especially when I was in my early 20’s. Regardless of her personal problems, as you said, she does a good job of rolling with the punches. I hope she can pick herself up and come out on top eventually. Team Lindsay.

I am kinda torn on this. I am a mother and if she routinely behaved like this and was truly scared, I’d do anything I’d have to to get her help. The problem is, he has done so many crappy things in the past, no one believes his sincerity. Bottom line is, she needs major help, without her parents’ involvement. How sad.
