Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal have split, a source close to the actress tells PEOPLE. No further details were given.
You’ll pardon me whilst I go do cartwheels all over my apartment (then out the door and down the street) despite the minimal details … I’ll update the story should any new deets become available … but can I just say WOOOOOOOOOOT!!! one more time?! Jakey poo is single again … and all is, once again, right with the world.
UPDATE: People have posted a new info from reps for both Jake and Reese that deny that the couple have broken up:
Despite reports, Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal are still very much a couple, according to their reps. Although a source close to the couple says their relationship has ended, reps for both say, “it is not true.” Nanci Ryder and Carrie Byalick, who rep Witherspoon and Gyllenhaal respectively, tell PEOPLE, “They are still together.”
Boo. I mean, I guess I’d expect the reps to deny a report like this but … well … I went and got my hopes up and everything. I guess we’ll have to see if these two rush out to be photographed together to see where things stand. At least I got in a few cartwheels when the initial story broke … it was deffo fun while it lasted ;)

Hey, hey! Like everyone doesn’t have a fantasy lover. Stop being such a prick with Trent. You don’t go blind and deaf when you’re in a relationship. It’s OK to admire another fine ass as long as you only turn to your partner.
As for Witherppe, besides that being very difficult to spell, that ship has sailed. As difficult as it must be to live with someone who is compulsive and controlling like Reese, it is IMPOSSIBLE to go back after you’re done. Abbie and Ryan seem to have a lot more in common that he and Reese and the kids seem well cared for and loved.

So my first reaction was “wow Trent, that was kinda mean”. But I remember letting out a big happy squeal when I found out that Benji and Paris broke up and joking about giving him his shots so he’d be doable again. Anyway, yeah, I didn’t get bitched at for that because I didn’t say it on a blog read by who knows how many people each day. But it’s Trent’s blog, he can say what he wants. If he wants to be giddy about the chance that his celeb crush is on the market again, let him be giddy. I don’t agree with everything he says, sometimes I get a little offended. But I always keep in mind that he’s entitled to his own opinion, and when it comes down to it, Trent is nowhere near as offensive as a lot of others. Besides babe, you crack my shit up sometimes, and despite what anyone says, you cover a lot of tricky news with more class than anyone else. Clearly, many folks do not remember (or were not here) for the many years of Jake love I posted way back in the pre-Brokeback days (back when he was with Kirsten Dunst). That people honestly think I’m seriously being mean about a supposed break-up is so insanely funny to me. People, lighten up … it’s all in good fun.
