leaving aside the fact that this is a celebrity gossip site (and that people seem to be reacting with dismay that this particular post reminds them too much of another celebrity gossip site) trent’s persona on here is exactly that: a persona. and his persona has a longstanding giddy crush on jake g. he calls him “jakey poo” for heaven’s sake. it’s a construction in the name of fun. and it IS fun. that’s understood. is it not? what i see here is trent speaking from his own reaction to the news, through his persona on this site. it’s silly, and understood to be snarky. yes? no? i highly doubt if trent were standing in a room with reese witherspoon he’d be pointing and laughing at her. i also highly doubt that if reese witherspoon read this thing, she’d take any offense.

that said, can we get off the whole “poor reese” thing? what if she dumped him? (provided it was a real relationship, and not one management company dumping the other management company.) aren’t women allowed to seek elsewhere, or to make up and/or change their minds, rather than be passive players in their own (romantic) lives? if not, i’ve been doing things VERY wrong for while now…. yikes.

further, some posts here outstrip any “rude” comments by trent pretty much by light years. can someone explain that phenomenon to me? “how dare you be happy jake is single – you @(*$^(@*$^*@&#*@ – i wish the WORST for you in your personal life! blahblahviciousblah!!!!” it reads like bloodthirst. calm the eff down.
