First Listen: Jennifer Lopez, ‘Louboutins’
The first single from Jennifer Lopez‘s new album Love? (which is due out in January ’10) has made its way to the Internets a few days ahead of its official debut which is scheduled to take place live at the American Music Awards this Sunday night. Louboutins is the name of the new track from J. Lo aka Jenny from the Block aka La Diva Latina aka Lola … Ms. Jennifer Lopez:

Jennifer Lopez’s lead single from her next year release “Love?” has hit the web. Titled “Louboutins”, the song will be performed live for the first time at 2009 American Music Awards on November 22. “Louboutins” reportedly is produced by Christopher “Tricky” Stewart and written by The-Dream. Rumor also suggests that the song was meant to be recorded for Brandy’s forthcoming release, but following Brandy’s exit from Epic Records, it was handed over to J-Lo. Jennifer Lopez is expected to release “Love?” on January 25, 2010. A promotional single called “Fresh Out the Oven” has been unveiled earlier this month. Coming from production hands of The Neptunes, the dance track has Pitbull lending his vocal on the lines.
Considering how poorly J. Lo‘s last album Brave did when it was released a couple of years ago (do any of y’all even remember it at all?) I’m very curious to hear what Jennifer‘s new sound is like. I would love for her to drop another killer track like Get Right, Play or Waiting For Tonight (to name but a few of my fave J. Lo songs). Louboutins, an obvs shout-out to the expensive designer shoe line, is our first taste of what J. Lo has in store. After the jump, listen to the song in full …
I mean … it’s OK … but it’s hardly anything special. It’s a bit too slow for me to really love it … I’m not sure what she’s trying to say in the lyrics, to be honest. I guess she’s ready to break up with some guy but in order for her to do it right she has to “throw on her Louboutins“? Yeah, whatever. I’m not impressed just yet but with the right remix, it could be a better song … I’m hopeful there’ll be better tracks on Love?. Meh. What do y’all think? Is this song a hit?
PS: For those of you interested, you can click HERE to hear J. Lo‘s other new track Fresh Out of the Oven (Featuring Pitbull) which may give a bit more insight into what Lopez‘s new album may sound like.

Blah…thats bout it. Just blah! Nothing special. I’m not gonna run out and buy it or download it. I’ll likely not even notice its playing in a club. Hopefully the rest of the album is better.

“you said you changed, but still the same” this sounds like Brave with the instrumental section! It is okay! It is slow and I really wanted more. I really wanted a fun dance song. It is hard to relate to some shoe collection that really means nothing to me.

I hate to say it but I think J.Lo music career is over :( I really want to love her new music but I just can’t do it! “Louboutins” is somewhat laughable, “Fresh Out the Oven” isn’t much better and Pitbull adds nothing to the track. I think we are looking at Brave Part II

j.lo hasn’t had it right in the music industry for quite some time now. the tone is too monotonous for me. i love her as an actress though. hopefully she does more of that.

snoozefest….

p.s. this’ll probably be a hit with “the real housewives of atlanta” because i don’t know anyone in real life who even wears those shoes.

i kinda liked the brave album…it had some good songs, that of course werent released as singles..and had next to no promo.
i dont completely hate the song…it seems like something that would take time to grow on you.

Dam…it is Wack..i miss the REAL Jenny From the Block…those were the days. Love her as an actress too

I smell an attempt to get free shoes.
Also, the song’s not even that catchy.

Brave had some standout songs. This is only ok. There’s a song from this albums recording sessions that leaked several months back called “What is Love” and that one is good!
Oh and the pitbull/neptunes song wont actually be on the album, thank god.

Wow. So bad. Gross. “Throwin’ on my Louboutins” is not exactly a sing-along anthem. This album should be called, “Music for Socialites.”

@Kyle – i agree, What Is Love, is good song
hooked on you & one love are alright too

I wonder what Christian Louboutin thinks of this song as a company. I feel like this song kinda cheapens the brand…

BORING SONG!

Aww noo =(
I remember when ‘ if you had my love’ came out and I looooved every second of it.
This is too much repeating in the chorus and nothing special, hmm.

Um that’s a big negative. This is awful. She is way too old to be making pop music when she wasn’t even talented to begin with.

Tracy – THANK YOU! I was worried I was the only one thinking that.

I’m not even a J.Lo fan, but I decided to listen to the song, hoping it would be good. I got down to J.Lo back in the day, so I’d like to see a nice comeback. I’m disappointed that this is song is not good at all. And Fresh Out the Oven is even worse!
November 20th, 2009 at 11:25 am
Love Loubitans but NOT this song! C’mon Jenny we need another bad a** club hit.
November 20th, 2009 at 12:14 pm
@ Tracy…if JLo is too old to be making pop music, what does that make Madonna?

It’s ok

She’s been over as a pop singer for years now. But she keeps trying. It’s just so cliche and lame that the gays (yes, you!) keep supporting her even though she puts out CRAP. I repeat once again: releasing a fragrance is not a career move. This woman is a celebrity only, not a singer, not an actress, not a dancer. She’s kind of a sham.
November 20th, 2009 at 6:39 pm
OMG my ears are BLEEDING.
So monotonous!!!!!
November 20th, 2009 at 7:05 pm
booooring all the way!

oh, no
November 21st, 2009 at 5:14 am
I can’t get past the first 1:30 of the song because she’s mispronouncing Louboutins so badly and it drives me crazy! Other than that the song seems a bit slow, and more than a bit repetitive…

Some people just don’t know when to quit. It is painful watching this woman try to make a comeback.

Uh…sorry, there was a J.Lo album called Brave?
