Fall Out Boy Annouce That The Band Is Going On ‘Indefinite Break’
The members of the band Fall Out Boy have announced today that they are going to take an “indefinite” break from “band duties”. While “taking a break” is a not exactly the same as “breaking-up”, it seems to me that it could be the first step down that path. Could the end of Fall Out Boy be near?

Fall Out Boy are set to take an “indefinite” break from band duties, their spokesperson has confirmed. Pete Wenz and the rest of the Chicago four-piece are set to step away their musical commitments within the band and have not set a schedule for any possible return. “It’s a break with an indefinite date when they’re coming back,” their spokesperson told NME.COM. The band are set to release a greatest hits compilation album, ‘Believers Never Die’, on November 30.
HMMM … while this announcement isn’t necessarily cause for alarm, the timing of this “indefinite break” (ie. after the release of a greatest hits album) seems kinda suspicious. Might the time be right for members of FOB to launch solo careers? Could the plan be for the guys to move into other directions? Pete Wentz, avid Twitter user, has been curiously silent on this announcement today … so I think I’ll hold off on making any assumptions until we hear more from the guys themselves. Even still … this news is a bit worrisome. What do y’all think … is Fall Out Boy about to be dunzo?

I love Fall Out Boy, but their music has been sucking. I think it’s time for them to move on.

pete wentz explains how he feels that he ruined FOB. and having gone to the same high school and patrick stump, i was able to see him do a solo performance on halloween at the high school. all of FOB was rumored to be there but only Stump ended up performing. this could very well be the end of FOB, or at least the start of a very long break.

I’m still waiting for Nsync to end their “indefinite break”. Not a good sign for FOB.

FOB sucks! They were popular but then they killed their own careers by releasing crappy music. Also, Pete Wentz did ruin FOB because he made them all emo and then it was all about him for awhile. Eh.

I just read on msn.com that Pete is blaming himself for the breakup. They really weren’t that great anyways, but Pete Wentz is a doll.

I hate to be one of those ‘I only like the old stuff and then they sold out people’ but I think its true with fall out boy. Their last album was crap. Complete crap. I was a massive FOB fan – their second 2 albums were awesome (I love take this to your grave!), but I think it was all downhill from there. So I’m not too sad about the hiatus, hopefully they will have time to regroup and get back to making amazing music.

I am guessing it is to generate publicity because I didn’t even know that they had a greatest hits album

I never like him any way. I would be happy if Patrick Stump came out with an album.

Patrick Stump has always been the most talented of the group, I love FOB but I am really hoping he moves forward with some personal projects.
